  1. Voted for Luiz, but along with him I am giving my MOTM to Carlo. Perfect substitutions that changed the game. Unlike Jose, Carlo hasn't always shown this ability to change games with substitutions, but today it worked out perfectly. Keep it up Carlo, we all know that you read this forum! Well done CHELSEA!!!!
  2. That should have been a second yellow and red for Vidic. But no problem, we didn't get Luiz sent off too, at least no debt to lady luck.
  3. Luiz off, great thinking Carlo! Luiz sooo lucky not to be sent off today. Zhirkov should start instead of Malouda now every game until the end of season!
  4. Zhirkov finally on. And Drogba showing passion - exactly what doctor ordered. COME ON CHELSEA!!!
  5. Come on CHELSEA! Come on Drogba, come on everyone, even Malouda, show some anger!
  6. And that is the fault of the 3 midfielders except for ramires. all are just an instant too slow in passing.
  7. LUIIIIIIIIIIIIIZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A PLAYER!!!!
  8. How can anyone say that Malouda was good because he was getting in good positions? He is a winger ffs, there is usually much more space on the wings then in the middle. Getting into positions is a bare minimum for a winger at Chelsea and no one should be praised for a bare minimum.
  9. Exactly! Every f**king time he gets the ball at the corner of the box, he just stands there waiting for cole to overlap and of course everyone gets picked up in a second. Only once did he try to force his way down to the left byline!
  10. Malouda is useless again. Zhirkov must come on for him as soon as possible!
  11. I don't think he is finished and to me looks like he can still be useful. However, I think he should stay only if he accepts that he will be rotated. With his current form, he should not be automatic first choice striker, even Kalou looks to be in better form at the moment. And Drogs is my favorite player.
  12. It would be nice to have the exact data on sheva shirts, won't it? But think again about Torres. I know not only guys who are his fans for footballing reasons, but also girls, who don't care about football, but bought Torres and Villa shirts because either they were in love with them, or it was cool and every other girl was doing it. Then think how big the euros and world cup are and how many girls/guys became Torres fans after these competitions, especially Euros.
  13. To me this transfer is all about business and shirt sales rather than football just like the case with Shevchenko. Torres is injury prone, he hasn't played more than 30 league games for the last 3 seasons. I have serious doubts he will replicate the form of his first season at pool for the next 3-4 years. And I also think this isn't a priority for the club, I think they will be happy if he sells enough shirts and turns some of the worldwide Torres fans into Chelsea fans. Maybe he is worth 50 million if you take all that into consideration, I don't know, but based on footballing contribution only, I think he is a wrong choice for us at this time.

To me it seems there has been way too much talk about charity and other off-the pitch commitments of the players. Looks like football is not the first priority for Drogba, Malouda and other attacking players.
  15. Most of the attacking players just look distracted and I can only guess why... McEachran and Sturridge looked the only focused ones today.

I think there is a consensus on how great Mikel is. He's been our MOTM in half the games this season. And he has a lot of games for someone so young. He's played 158 games for us and is still only 23. That's impressive and long may this trend continue!
  17. Many good performances: Zhirkov -great movement and link-up play. Ivanovic solid in defence and lethal in attack. Good determination from Ferreira. Mikel - very reliable in the middle Kalou - dangerous. Kids did well. But, my man of the match is Anelka. His goal broke Spartak and changed the game.

The feeling I have about his game is that he is artificially suppressing his natural instincts in order to fit into the DM role. Almost always when he gets the ball and plays a simple sideways pass he looks like in his mind he questions himself if he did the right move according to the DM manual. He just doesn't make the impression that he is in harmony with his instincts anymore. Compare that for example with DD's goal today. Anyway, I'm not an expert on this stuff, but to me it seems that he needs to be given freedom to make forward runs and pass further than a few meters. Are there any other opinions on this?
  19. Think Jose successfully getting in the head of the entire club was the biggest reason for the result tonight. Only at the end of the first half we looked like scoring. There was a good shot of Drogba's face, which showed complete concentration at that time, but this spell was short.
  20. To me it is the same old mind games, because in his press conferences Jose is way extra warm and sweet. Much more than the occasion deserves. He must have figured out that this tactic will be more effective at distracting us then trying to wind us up with some arrogant ridiculous crap - a tactic, which he uses most of the time. In other words, if he angered the team somehow, I'm sure they would give 110% to prove him wrong. But he is trying to make them focus on the good old days and how they loved playing FOR him and not on how they are going to destroy Inter today.
  21. I think that Vermaelen was confused because of Gallas. Gallas missed the ball while Vermaelen probably expected him to clear it :)))
  22. Great so far, Cole and Ivanovic are playing well, but Mikel looks like he's lost his confidence. It was especially telling when in the very beginning he fouled Fabregas who made a grimacing face. Ref talked to Mikel and he looked like an ashamed boy who's just made a mistake. And it should have been 3-0!
  23. The interview is good, but to me it seems that there has been way too much said and written about how awesome we are. The season has just started and we still have more than 3/4 of the games to play. IMO, it would be better to reserve most of such praise until the end of season.
  24. Drogba for me. Before he came on, there was no aura of confidence and penetration. A few times, when some players missed their chances they threw their arms in the air and looked disgusted and suffering. When Drogba came on, everything changed. He lifted the team. A series of chances went through him, which made the team look solid and confident. Cluj also started to look worried, when Drogba was in their box. Basically, Drogba transformed a passing, but not confident and toothless side into a determined and dangerous team.
