José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
Why is every point of criticism immediately struck down as being negative? I'm not negative, i just call it as i see it. Last season we did good and i enjoyed it, but that doesn't mean i'm just gonna sit back when i can see certain areas where improvement is needed. I think our squad still has room for improvement and with some investments we could've improved, but instead we decided to stay where we are. That's not negative, neither is it positive. It's just an observation. It seems like you can't have any criticism about the club or everyone feels like they have to ridicule you or dismiss you as being negative.

John Stones
True, but if he was so eager to make that move this summer, he would've done more than what he is doing now to make a transfer possible. It seems to me that he's staying at Everton, unless Man U cave in and pay Everton's price.

John Stones
How do you know this? During all this time, he has never spoken out about wanting out or anything. He's acting like a professional, i like it.

Baba Rahman
Indeed, people are always saying we can't sign big names because of FFP but that's just not true. It seems like we are just afraid to do big transfers since Torres happened...

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
He should have, but it's Mourinho we're talking about, when has he ever kept quiet about anything?

Your entire post speaks to me as a lack of ambition. We are one of the best clubs in the world, 4th or 5th i believe in the UEFA ranking, our ambitions should be more than just win the league.

Is it too early to be depressed that we won't sign a starter?
Why is Pogba impossible? The only reason it could be considered impossible is if he doesn't want to come to Chelsea. Financially we should be able to buy him, especially with the new deals kicking in. Other targets were available, but of course it becomes very difficult if you let other teams sign them.

Exactly! If you want to stay on top, you have to invest. That's how it works. If other teams get closer, we need to make sure we don't let them. If we were fantastic last season, you could let it slide. But it was pretty obvious that we weren't. Look at our shameful ending in the CL and our second half of the PL season.

Ivanovic does his job and usually he does is pretty well. If we have one big problem, it's our midfield.

Radamel "the project" Falcao
Players are generally at their peak between 27 and 29, plenty of research about it on google. It's not an exact science of course, but if you take his age and injury into consideration, it's pretty much guaranteed that he will never become that world class striker again.

Radamel "the project" Falcao
On your first question: No, he'll probably never reach that status again. He's 29 years old and over his peak. On your second question: No, but i don't think we can anyway. Our squad isn't good enough to go far in Europe, unless we have another run like 2012.

The 2015/16 before season thread (plz sticky) (okay, stuck)
- Falcao
Don't really see any difference yet between this Falcao and the one at Man United when we all laughed at him. I'm hoping for the best though because we'll need him.- Is it too early to be depressed that we won't sign a starter?
I think it's pretty clear that we need to bring in players. First of all, we need to bring in defenders. Baba Rahman is supposedly a done deal. Secondly, i think it's pretty obvious that we need a right winger. Willian, Moses, Ramires, ... are "good" players but that's about it. They aren't great players, and definitely not up to the standards you would expect at a club like Chelsea. If Hazard doesn't show up, we are pretty much f**ked. Also, if we want to compete in Europe, we need another midfielder. Matic - Fabregas is just not good enough. If you look at our competitors, they are all in better shape than last season. That's ok because they had to catch up. But i would've expected us to improve as well, especially because we did poor in Europe, but so far i haven't seen it. Our squad is not better than last season.- José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
Isn't this just your typical Mourinho reaction? Keep the attention on himself instead of the players.- Charity shield August 1
It's not just a friendly though, it's the supercup. Is it the most important game of the season? I sure hope not. But dismissing it as just another pre-season friendly like our games against New York Red Bulls or PSG is just silly.- Charity shield August 1
Maybe you should check again then. The record already included the Community Shield of 2005.- José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
That falls under the same category since it's also insulting and mocking someone because of how they look, but that comes from the fans. Although i also don't like it, it's banter you can kind of expect from fans. I don't expect it from Mourinho, he shouldn't lower himself to that kind of level.- Charity shield August 1
Why do you insist on calling it a friendly? It's not. It's a cup game and it's against Arsenal, reasons enough to consider it important.- Kenedy aka 'The New Hulk'
Yep, officially he's still a Fluminese player that's got permission to train with us...- José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
I don't think the last part about the diet is very appropriate, it's not something a man with his stature should do. He can attack Benitez his managerial career as much as he wants, but attacking someone on a personal level because of the way they look is just a childish thing to do and doesn't give the right example to others watching it.- Diego "the guv'nor" Costa
He should've had the surgery.- Filipe Luis to Chelsea... and Back Again.
Officially sold: http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2015/07/filipe-luis-returns-to-atletico.html Sad to see him leave, but if it's what he wants...- Barcelona vs. Chelsea Wednesday 29 Jul 2015, Kick off 01:10 FedEx Field, Washington D.C.
Just get some sleep in before the game and after. That's how i do it. :p - Falcao
