Hazard has killer acceleration and speed. Every time I watch a Chelsea game and he's making a run down the flank his legs are a blur. He can also move about as fast with the ball as without. Maybe this is just every footballer and I never noticed it but his speed is awfully impressive.

Of the match, my MOTM is sadly Cissé. Of Chelsea, it's gotta be Drogba.

I think stuff like this could be made into really cool pregame shows. I'm from the states and anyone who's ever been to an NHL game (St Louis Blues fan here!) and I would imagine probably basketball too has experienced the pregame light shows along with music and the starting lineup that fill the arena and give it an awesome atmosphere. Maybe not all that at the bridge, but it'd be cool to see the blue LEDs and lighting and stuff used to create a pregame event.

I will agree that there can always be improvement and maybe willian isn't the best man in that position, but he's also not the best player of his position out there- there will always be a better choice who we don't have. However, it's definitely not Schürrle. His play has been careless and not very efficient as of late.

Somewhat agree. But I think he's a great player. His hesitation to play the through ball to Drogba almost cost him that goal. And his shooting has been sub par, you're right.

Good points here. Chelsea has a great squad, both regular starters and players coming off the bench. I don't know if I would necessarily call our team "deep" or "stacked" but they certainly have the personnel to win games regardless of who starts. However if Newcastle really tests them it will be interesting to see how they respond without Matić and his superb defense, and how they mesh putting regular subs into those starting spots.

Remember, we're over 2 games clear at the top. We can afford to lose once even if Southampton wins, and a few more times once everyone else wins. Of course that's not the goal, we want wins on wins on wins, and a draw or two is also acceptable. 👌

I'm agreeing with a lot of what is being posted here. I'm on the fence about Schürrle. He's a world Cup winner, can seemingly run for days without getting tired, and is a great player-when he comes out to play. However it just seems too often when Mourinho gives him his chances, he wastes them and can't seem to play good football. He's lazy on defense and sloppy on offense with too many unnecessary long range shots.

Obviously based on the result and the hard defense (and some decent chances) by Southampton, I really don't think that was a good rest game.However I'm expecting a great game against spurs even resting a few starters. Calling 3-1 Chelsea.

Home vs Spurs Away vs Newcastle Home vs Sporting (CL) Home vs Hull Away vs Derby (COC) Away vs Stoke Home vs West Ham (Boxing day) Away vs Southampton Away vs Spurs (New years day) Just copying the fixtures: I think with the boys' recent form and the fact that we're undefeated none of these matches are too scary. However there are a few that could be a bit troubling and could lead to more draws(or unfortunate losses). I see: spurs should be a win but could be a toss up, both games will be interesting (especially Wednesday without Diego.) Newcastle has won a few games and doing well, they will be a challenge. Southampton definitely a big game depending on how they are that far down the road. None of the cup/cl games look concerning. Then again, this league can have unexpected twists. Expecting another great month for Chelsea!

Hello fellow Chelsea fans! I'm a big fan from Illinois in the USA, and I live around 40 minutes from St. Louis, MO. I've been a Chelsea fan for a few years now. I'm a big hockey fan as well and I love my hometown St. Louis Blues, so I naturally picked the Blues of the Premier League and a few years ago and here we are now!
