How many teams have conceded five when Mourinho has been managing them? I think we might be the first.(?) Unlucky by Rami, they all need shooting practice.

If the worst happens, we'll just have to repay them in kind in the League Cup final.

This. I wish someone would shoot on sight as well. How many of Lampard's goals got deflections?

I wish he'd had a shot when Costa played him in instead of walking it to the by-line and getting tangled up. I think his crossing is pretty darn good generally, better than Felipe Luis' anyway! (that might be damning with faint praise)

When Hazard shoots to hit the post, Costa looks off to me on the replay.

His dodgy passing notwithstanding, I think Mikel has been above average.

I agree with you in principle. After today's result, great performance though it as, do you not think there's something to be said for "if the opposition pack the box and you can't pass your way through, you cannot score if you do not shoot"?

Half-term report
This. He seems to me to be favoured over Azpi when we want an attacking LB... In which case, can he please work on his crossing ability to bring him up to at least Ivanovic's level?

I assume that refs, other coaches, etc. read the presses and take note of manager's comments. I am unable to tell how much of Mourinho's comments are aimed at the refs/coaches/etc. however he did seem very animated on MotD didn't he? Reminded me of last season, last time he was in charge, etc. Edit: Also, is it just me or is Jenas as bad at punditry as he was at playing?

Awesome mate. Awesome. Commodore... To be this good takes Sega ages. I had an Amiga at that time as well. Happy days indeed! Edit: Love the celebration of the steward? copper? behind the goal when the second one goes in. Set up by Damien Matthew, didn't we used to call him Ouita? Marathon runner, or sommat?

I'll trust your memory over mine. Can't remember if it was the season before or season after we sold Drurie. (And then beat Spurs 4-1 at Three Point Lane. Haha)

I forget which season, but remember when Arsenal only lost one game all season on the way to winning the title? Where did they lose? The Bridge. 2-0. Oh yes.

When watching the post-match on Sky after the West Ham game they brought up the remaining away fixtures of us vs Citeh, and yeah, I definitely agree. I feel it's imperative we beat Citeh at the bridge, though. It might be that I am naturally a pessimist (I am) but I get the impression if Citeh were a few points ahead of us I wouldn't be confident of over taking them. I'm not saying that has a rational basis, just, y'know... Also, fair play to Citeh, banging in goals without recognised strikers, easy games though they've had. As the text of the Chelsea Match forum says, "discover which player should be sold for having one bad game in twenty-six" and that's what it is. Bit of over reaction. No harm with blowing off some steam on an Internet forum. Damn, I was but an infant in '82. The first things I saw us win were the Zenith Data Systems (twice) and League Two. And being so happy when beating 'Boro in the FA Cup ten years later. I'm grateful for our recent successes and sometimes I take it for granted.

Q) Why did Lampard miss the penalty? A) There was no-one for it deflect off Much as I am in awe of Fabregas I think the thing we really miss is someone prepared to have a pop from the edge of the box. Willian had a try early in the second-half and his efforts were unfortunately blocked. There were other times in the second half I thought the trigger could have been pulled earlier. It's unfortunate. I thought it was a good performance today. We dominated, created chances towards the end (just no shots on goal except Hazard's) but couldn't get it over the line. That happens sometimes. Just glad neither Man U or Man C gained any ground on us. What did Mourinho say that could supposedly get him charged? I read on the Chelsea website, 'cause no post-match on Sky, "There are situations where people can have different opinions but there are others where everybody has the same opinion. It wasn’t given because the referee made a mistake, people make mistakes and it was a big mistake. He is a very good ref and a good guy. He is young and has years of football ahead of him, and it is a big mistake but tomorrow is another day and life goes on." Compare this to the Mourinho of last season, even.
