I don't think Maresca asked for him at all, if he did he'd be involved more. I think the simple thing is you were losing a home grown player because of FFP in Gallagher. And at the time, KDH looked like a very easy deal to do for a replacement home grown player, who is young enough to be able to flog on in a few years without losing a ludicrous amount. It helped us out with FFP, we helped you back with the £5m sweetner for the youth player.

He played well for us in the premier league in his first season. Everyone was muck the relegation season. 
 
Not sure he’s top end of the league quality, but calling him a championship level player is insulting.

Thanks for the money, I just don’t get it. He’s not a bad player, he’s a good player. But I just can’t say he’s a player a team with desires of top 4 should be buying.

That's not really true, it just meant a total change of style as we had Tielemans and Ndidi and when he came on the scene they were both playing well. Eventually he got in the team and stopped in. First year in the premier league he was decent, the second season the whole team was garbage.

It’s also entirely made up and goes against all the original reports and those that actually broke the story.

The only thing stopping him is whether he just loses focus and it’s all happened too soon. Seeing as he’s shown numerous times to be a petulant spoilt brat at his last two clubs, I’d say there is potential there for that.
