    Marcos Alonso

True, and one of the issues for me is that all too often Alonso, when receiving the ball, goes inside (or backwards) - crowding out the space for Hazard to cut in to. As such, its so obvious for the opposition to deal with him - they know he very rarely tries to go past a man by the sideline, and so don't need to commit men there defensively - again, clogging up the middle of the pitch. We need a proper attacking left back with pace and dribbling abilities who can take players on and increase the width of play.

    Willian

Yep, he's great in a more defensive, counter-attacking team, where he can carry the ball up the pitch on the counter but in a more expansive team looking to win titles he should be a squad player, in my opinion.

Yeah I noticed, especially towards the end of the first half, that Willian was often the one forward player not pressing. Not sure if that was tactical instruction from Sarri (maybe to help shore up the left side, defensively) or if he was just being lazy.

Morata carrying on from where he left off last season, so far. Been impressed by Jorginho, very classy.

    Next Chelsea Manager

I'd be ecstatic to have Zola back at the club, but I'm not sure DoF is the position for him, especially as (as far as I'm aware) he has zero experience in the role. It's a real shame that Jody has left, as he could have been a great Assistant Manager, but I'm sure we'll see him (and Lamps) back at the club in the not so distant future.
  7. I'm assuming its Trevor Chalobah, as there are no other centre backs on the bench
  8. I've been wondering this for a while, have heard conflicting things.

One of his better games but christ, Bakayoko scares me every time he gets the ball. His first touch is atrocious. Rudiger and Hazard joint MOTM for me. Its a pleasure to watch Eden when he plays like he did today, just wish there was another quick, creative attacker he could link up with.
  10. Interesting lineup. 4-4-2 with Moses on one wing, Pedro the other? Or the usual formation with Morata in the Hazard role?
  11. Not as often as Moses', though.
  12. Would have liked a change of wing backs and Hudson Odoi, but not surprised tbh. Really hope this is the first step back to form for Baka and Morata
  13. Chelsea team: Caballero; Azpilicueta (c), Christensen, Rudiger; Moses, Bakayoko, Kante, Alonso; Willian, Morata, Hazard. Subs: Eduardo, Cahill, Zappacosta, Emerson, Fabregas, Pedro, Giroud.
  14. Real shame about Ampadu's injury. Here's hoping for a Hudson-Odoi start though. Come on Chels!
