Kai Havertz
Havertz wants to leave and there is no team other than Chelsea bidding on him. There has to be a COVID 19 discount or there will be no deal. There will be another discount if Leipzig insist he play in the Europa League in August. I predict $55 million, with up to $20 million of add ons.

Kai Havertz
Mount is a nice player, however he is not a top winger. He lacks finishing skills, ability to beat a player 1 v1 and he is below average on aerial balls. He also tends to bunch up too much with teammates in the box. He is young and will improve. However, he would help Chelsea more right now as a midfielder

Liverpool v Chelsea (PL) Wed 22nd July 2020 20:15 GMT
The first half the offense was abysmal. There were numerous opportunities for scoring chances however the lack of execution in final 30 yards was a killer. Willian and Mount were horrible and deserved to br pulled much earlier in the game.

Having Pulisic, Ziyech, Werner and hopefully Hsvertz in the starting lineup which make a huge difference. Mount is not a forward as he lacks a finishing touch.

You can’t use the same formation against every team and expect it to work. Liverpool players had very little pressure in the midfield allowing them to quickly advance the ball into scoring opportunities. There was also no one besides Willian in the starting lineup who was a threat to beat a defender 1 v 1. Mount bottled two or three chances in the first half that Pulisic would have buried in the back of the next. There was no justification for sitting Pulisic. This loss was as much on Lampard as it was on the defenders and Kepa.

This loss was predictable once you saw the lineup and formation. FFS Lampard what are you thinking? Chelsea need to get some stronger assistant coaches who understand strategy and playing to the team’s strengths. Willian and Mount were horrible today. Pulisic and CHO need to start on Sunday. If Kante is not healthy, then switch to a 4-3-3.

This loss is on Lampard. Putting the same lineup as Sunday (ex Kepa) and trying to play the same way against Liverpool as United makes no sense. Oh, Pulisic assists a goal in the first two minutes.

Sheff Utd v Chelsea (PL) Sat 11th July 2020 17:30 GMT
Kovacic appears to be ready to return to play which is a good sign. It is time for CHO to break out. Chelsea certainly needs some more offense as Pulisic and Willian have been carrying the team since the return.

Crystal Palace v Chelsea (PL) Tue 7th July 2020 18:00 GMT
Why would you sit Pulisic, Chelsea’s best player by a significant margin since the restart? CHO also looked very ordinary vs Watford. Also do you expect Mount or Barkley to lead the MF?

Chelsea v Watford (PL) Sat 04th Jul 20:00 GMT
Gilmour looked shaky again today. If Kants and Kovacic are out then Jorghinio should start.

How is Mount MOM? Pulisic, Willian and Barkley had much better games.

Chelsea v Watford (PL) Sat 04th Jul 20:00 GMT
No Abraham please. He has been a weak link on both offense and defense since December 2019. He routinely gets out muscled on most aerial balls and shows very little ability to beat a defender. He looks like he is running on glass. Also frustrating how many times he is offsides.

Developing a LB
Bayern took Davies who was a forward In MLS and converted him to a LB. He will likely be runner up to Haaland as Budesliga Rookie of the Year. Are there any Chelsea youth besides Maatson who have the potential as a LB? Any other guys with potential to be converted to LB?

Great Agree. RLC doesn’t have the pace to be a threat at forward.

Since Ziyech’s and Werner’s respective seasons are done are they able to practice with Chelsea’s first squad?

Wasn’t that Chilwell that got beaten by Barkley? Very poor marking to say the least.

Gilmour pretty shaky so far.

RLC is too slow to play forward at this point. Gilmour and CHO need to play today.

Chelsea v Man City (PL) Thur 25th Jun 20:15 GMT
100%. There were so many opportunities to attack City, however Kante was sitting back on defense and Mount and Barkley were quite pedestrian with their play. Chelsea struggled to move the ball out of the back as neither Mount or Barkley were showing up and being an option . Switching Abraham for Giroud added some defensive pressure in City’s end. However the Mount and Barkley, except for one nice play by Mount didn’t provide enough support to keto the pressure on.

How many times did Barkley get beaten to the ball yesterday? Either Gilmour or Kovacic would have gotten to many of those balls. Barkley did not change the game with Villa, Pulisic did that. Barkley is too slow to have a prominent role on a top 4 PL team.
-
Welcome to Chelsea Ben Chilwell
Good point. Chelsea is having a difficult time with moving the ball inside the 18 yard box. Ziyech and Werner will help with their quickness and play making ability. Swapping Gilmour for Barkley will help. Havertz would be another great addition as Chelsea is getting very little production from its midfielders. I am not a Chilwell fan as he plays too high leaving too much room for opposition to get behind him. It would be better to use transfer money to add Havertz and a defensive minded LB.

Ponderous? Barkley is too slow and plodding, like a plow horse. Numerous times during yesterday’s game he was two or three steps behind the play on both offense and defense.

Chelsea v Man City (PL) Thur 25th Jun 20:15 GMT
Imagine how much better Pulisic will be playing with Werner, Ziyech and Gilmour. The speed and play making ability of those players will be tough for opposing teams to match up. It will be like a track meet.

What is going to take to get Gilmour some playing time? There were plenty of opportunities for Chelsea to capitalize on City’s poor passing however Barkley was too slow. How does Gilmour go from MOM the last two games pre-COVID to benchwarmer over the likes of Barkley?
