Unfortunately we can't wear our glorious anniversary kit for this due to clashing colours (although come to think of it, we only wore that for the 3rd round). But win this, our name can be as good as engraved in the trophy, we know this from experience We're on a high now, that should work in our favour.
June 26, 20204 yr Give @coco a break, he isn’t match fit after having a few months off! Hopefully Tammy, Reece, Billy etc. can get some game time but I wouldn’t make too many changes if we can avoid it, there’s a trophy to be won!
June 26, 20204 yr Hopefully Lampard sees the bigger picture and realises that the game against Westham is more important than this one. Seeing as he only made 2 changes between the Villa and City games i expect a lot more changes to deal with fatigue and the risk of injuries which will derail our quest for the top 4. We can rotate our team and still have more than enough to beat Leicester especially with their form and our ability to bring on 5 world class subs to change the game. I will keep only kepa , Barkley and christensen in the line up from our game against city and rotate christensen with Rudiger at halftime to prevent injury due to fatigue Kepa James Christensen Zouma Emerson Jorginho Barkley Kovacic Pedro Abraham Loftus cheek Bring on WIllian Pulisic Mount and Giroud to feed on the tired Leicester defence
June 26, 20204 yr Not sure if I would rest Kante here but I would rest Mount. Chance for Jorghy or Billy to start playing again.
June 27, 20204 yr I was sort of not too bothered about this game as I felt that top 4 should take priority but didn’t realise it was the quarter finals. Beat Leicester and as Jose said, you can smell the final.
June 27, 20204 yr Of the “big” still in the cup, there’s City, United, Arsenal so in with a decent shout of winning it. Will likely have to beat City in the final.
June 27, 20204 yr It's a very tough draw to win the Cup this year, starting with Leicester. I like how Rodgers has set them up this year but they seem vulnerable at the moment. Will be interesting to see how we approach this. I'd imagine we will see Jorginho and possibly Gilmour in this match. Hopefully RLC gets another chance too. Tammy to start as well.
June 27, 20204 yr Would love us to win the cup this year. With a young group of players and promising signings on the way it'd be an amazing start to the Lampard era. Always felt the first trophy win under Jose was a watershed moment-if we could pull a FA Cup win out of the bag it could be the start of another golden era. Come on Chelsea!
June 27, 20204 yr I've never been a fan of disregarding the cup though needs must in this strange season. Chance to give all those without match minutes a run out. We have seven matches in quick succession and depth of squad will go a long way to finishing top four.
June 27, 20204 yr Call me a cynical old bastard but what's the betting that during the game - especially as it will be shown on Scouse (sorry BT) Sport - that the commentators will say something like this is Chelsea's first game since they beat City which meant Liverpool won the title. I'd love to be proved wrong but I suspect the commentators won't be able to resist the temptation. As others have already written it would be good to try out some out other players. Come on Chelsea!

Of course they will. If we happen to avoid each other and play in the final, they'll be saying "if only Liverpool had done this or that, they'd be playing for the double." Believe me, this is going to run and run.

Judging from kantes injury issues earlier in the season it is imperative that lamps rest him and also rests Mount so he doesnt burn out like he did earlier in the season. They both need to be rested because they only have one way of playing which is at full speed. Jorginho can play every game in a season and not need a rest becuase he plays at his own pace

You're right. It will be Liverpool this, Liverpool that for the rest of the season and no doubt for many years to come.

If we could stop doing it on our own forum that’d be great Last time I checked they’re not in the FA Cup, some fantastic team knocked them out last round.

I agree that both of them need to be rested but I also hope we can make a run in the FA cup now as well.
June 27, 20204 yr What about a midfield of Kovacic-Jorginho-Gilmour ? Rest Kante for this match, we've got a big midfield as it is.
June 27, 20204 yr Kepa Reece Christensen Zouma Emerson Jorginho Kovacic RLC Pedro Tammy CHO (if fit) Rotation is key. Top 4 is more important than FA Cup. Need to be fit for West Ham on Wednesday. Can bring on Willy, Mount, Pulisic as needed

We said the same thing about west-ham in the home game and were predicting that it would be the game that got Pellegrini fired and look how that turned out. We would have played 2 games while west-ham have been resting. I dont doubt that we are a better team than westham but fatigue, Westhams relegation battle and the extra motivation that this is a derby makes this a much trickier tie than people are giving credit. Another important factor is that even a little injury like a hamstring which normally takes 2 weeks to heal will be a big blow during this crammed up project restart because normally a hamstring injury will cost a player 2 games but with the fixtures so close we could actually lose a player for 5 games just from a little injury. I also want us to go far and hopefully win the Fa cup but i care more about getting the top 4 which gives us extra revenue (not that we need it but with FFP we actually do) and also the ability to buy top players during the transfer window We need to give minutes to those who didnt start against Man city so that the whole squad is fresh and rest those who have played our last 2 games I just pray this match is over in 90 mins .
