  1. Why would Chelsea overpay for Sterling who might have difficulty cracking City’s lineup in the 2022/2023 season? Wait it out as City is looking for money to acquire Philips and Gnabry. Plus I am not sure that Sterling would be committed to pressing under Tuechel’s system.

Great as Kounde gets caught up field too often for a right back. There are much better and cheaper options for a defensive right back. I don’t see why Chelsea are wasting their time on him.

I saw Kounde play 5 or 6 times for Sevilla last year He seemed disinterested at times and made a lot of mistakes similar to Malang Sarr. I think Chelsea would be better served moving on from him, especially after his surgery which will keep him out of the preseason.
  4. It’s a blessing that Kounde is talking to Barca. He is not a good fit for the PL given the more physical play. His recent surgery will also cause him to miss the pre-season. Koulabally would cost less, be a better fit and alllow Chelsea to slowly integrate Colwill into the lineup. It is time to move on from Kounde
  5. Kounde’s surgery will push back his availability four weeks effectively missing pre-season. That should knock at least $10 to $15 million off his transfer value.

  7. The issue was Chelsea was trying to include Tomori in the deal and he didn’t want to go to Sevilla. When Chelsea backed off that approach it was too late in the window for Sevilla to get a replacement for Kounde. To be honest I am not a fan of the Kounde signing. I saw him play 5 or 6 times for Sevilla this past year. At times he looked disinterested and other times he looked like Malang Sarr making poor decisions leading to scoring opportunities. I also don’t think he will be able to stand up to the physical play in the PL as a center back.
  8. I hope that Chelsea put a July 10 cutoff date to trying to sign Kounde, especially after Sevilla dicked them around last summer. Keep plan B, C and D warm to avoid settling for leftovers at the end of the window.
  9. F Scott McLaughlin and his staff who ignored Petr Cech’s recommendation to sign Tchouameni and preferred to take Saul on loan. Chelsea needs to clean house in their scouting department and hire a proper sporting director. Way too many transfer mistakes over the last 5 years, including Kepa, Lukaku, Werner, Guehi, Abraham, etc.
  10. Nkunku did not look great during the title game on Saturday. He disappeared for large chunks of the game. I don't see him being able to replicate his goal scoring in the premier league. I also don't see him as an effective presser in Tuechel's system. Chelsea needs speed and scoring threqte on the wings such as Diaz of Liverpool.
  11. F Scott McLaughlin and his scouts who thought Saul was a better option than Tchouameni last summer. Peter Cech was pushing to sign him but got overflowed ruled . McLaughlin should be fired for that clear and obvious mistake.
  12. I have seen Tchouameni play some number of times for France and Monaco over the last couple of years. He is a better all around player compared to Rice, particularly on the offensive side. Pairing him and Gallagher as double 6s could add a lot more fire power in the Chelsea midfield which they have lacked for a while.
  13. There will no longer be an open checkbook to write off transfer mistakes such as Kepa, Lukaku, Werner, etc. Chelsea clearly needs a sporting director to help build the first team from the academy and transfers. McLaughlin would be one of the first I would replace in Chelsea management.
  14. Have you seen Kounde play? He has not played very well this season, particularly defending and building the ball out of the back. It’s almost as if he was disinterested at times. Teams bring up their CBs, who are typically 6 feet plus, on set pieces. I don’t see how Kounde is going to match up well in those situations. i also have little faith in Scott McLaughlin and the scouting department. They signed Lukaku who has been a colossal failure. McLaughlin also pushed to take Saul on loan vs signing Tchouameni who is one of the best young DM in the world. Fofana would be a much better signing compared Kounde. He is bigger, stronger and has proven he can play very well in the PL.
  15. I have seen Kounde play 5 or 6 times this season. He is horribly inconsistent and too small to stand up to the physical play in the Premier League. Fofana is a proven PL player who would cost about 1/3 the amount of Kounde and be much more effective.
  16. It was a griddy performance by Pulisic yesterday. He was making runs, beating players off the dribble and creating a lot of open space on his preferred left forward position. He also helped with pressing Lille which created a number of scoring opportunities.

I have watched Kounde play 5 games thisseaaon for Sevilla, including the last two games. He was sub-par playing as a RB in last week's Europa game. He was meh in yesterday's game during which he received a red card. That is 2 red cards in his last 5 game. In both cases he lost his cool. Not something you expect to see exhibited by a 24 year old. I don't see how Kounde can play CB in the PL as he is only 5' 10"' 164 pounds. He is going to be pushed around in the PL and harassed now that everyone knows he can be rattled.I also don't see him being very effective as a right back as he doesn't appear to be good at long passes or shooting. I would rather see James or Chalobah. I view Kounde as the next big transfer failure if they sign him. Chelsea needs to sign a top football director as a top priority this off-season. Enough of just signing the latest hot prospect.

I have watched Kounde play a number of times this year. I am not impressed. He seems almost disinterested at times. The anger and lack of maturity issues surfaced again yesterday and he received his 2nd red card this season. He is not playing as well as he did last year. Perhaps he is frustrated the Chelsea deal did not go through last summer. He is clearly not a 65 to 70 million player this year. I also wonder how he will fit in the PL given his lack of height and slight build. He will get trucked as a center back and he is a sub par right back as he seems to struggle with long passes and his shooting is quite poor. I just don't see the fit for Chelsea and fear this could be another over priced transfer which doesn't pan out.
  19. Why did it take so long for VAR and the head referee to make the call on the red card at the end of the game.At the time it was only a one goal game and it seemed pretty obvious it was a red card. They allowed Palmerias to play with 11 men while trying to tie the game. Imagine if they scored to tie the game. You can't get that time back or reviews the goal.
  20. The fact that Chelsea played everyone except Kante and Silva and had to go to extra time today is embarrassing. They didn't play well and would have lost to most teams in the PL today.
  21. This game was rubbish from the point when Tuechel decided to sit the academy players. There was no urgency from anyone except Kovacic. Chelsea almost lost to Plymouth Argyle which sounds more like a sweater company.
  22. Chelsea already have too many forwards who can't score. Why add another one who can't score and spends too much time in the training room?
  23. Apparently Tuechel is brutal in terms of yelling at every mistake or failed attempt by the forwards. No one likes a micro-manager as coach. It can limit creativity and cause players to play too cautious. That also doesn’t help with recruiting new players either as word gets around.
  24. The futile pursuit of recalling Emerson was a fool’s errand from day 1. What were options B, C, D and E? It appears they could get Dest on loan. Why wait?
  25. West Ham rumored to be making an offer for Broja this transfer window. We can expect other teams to be competing for his services after thesesson. He has the size, strength and quickness to be a 15 to 20 annually over the next 10 to 12 years. Chelsea needs to keep him and sell Werner. He will be scoring long after Lukaku leaves London again.
