Everton v Chelsea (PL) Sat 6th Aug 2022 17:30 GMT
Yeah, so was Havertz. But the masses will blame Pulisic. Maybe some of you braniacs will eventually realize this offensive scheme Tuchel is running sucks. Disjointed, no rhythm, looks like a pick up game offensively. No attacking mids kill this team, as well as having no set striker. Everything is contingent on the wingbacks. If they suck, you get sh*t shows like today.

Funny... I felt the same about Mount and Havertz who played three times the amount Pulisic did. Did those two even touch the ball?

Gabriel Slonina
If he progresses - and Tim Howard too. Dude is a better athlete. Needs to work with the ball at his feet, like most young keepers.

Gabriel Slonina
Love him. Our next huge goalkeeper. Won't factor in this cycle but will be the starter for us come next WC. Coming from MLS, he will need to work on his passing / footwork with the ball. Other than that, he is dynamic. Think he is definitely the most talented GK we have had at this young of an age come out of the US.

Who do Chelsea play tomorrow?

Good points. This system doesn't fit CP. Like to see him move somewhere that does, as most Americans do. Until then, will keep rooting for him when he sees his limited playing time.

Keep calm and ....
Well, I am going into the season thinking positive - some of you want to hate your own players, that's on you. We will turn it around starting Friday and that will carry on into our opener.

Good post. As opposed to the hater, you don't ignore facts. What a sad sack of hate that one is.

We can agree that Tuchel's offensive philosophy is sh*t.

Werner's lowest scoring season was last year - He had 9 goals, only 4 in PL play. He had what you claimed was his lowest scoring season the year before with 11. Pulisic had 8 goals last year, 6 in PL action. Your facts, like your argument, are wrong. And Pulisic has scored in bigger, more important, games for Chelsea than Werner has. Period. Friendly wager that Pulisic outscores Werner this season.

Your silence is deafening. Simple question: of the two players, Werner or Pulisic, who has scored more goals in bigger games for Chelsea? Waiting patiently.

Who has scored more important goals for Chelsea - Werner or Pulisic?

Chelsea in America (US Preseason Tour) 2022
If that is your logic, then you should be more pissed at the German Wunderkinds, who tore it up in other leagues, only to do nothing here. You see, to me, it doesn't matter what an attacking player did in the past - that is irrelevant. All that matters is are they playing well and scoring for Chelsea - and they are not. End of story. Even Sterling has looked pedestrian in this juggernaut of an offense. Werner was the worst player on the pitch yesterday, is a cancer of the field, yet he somehow avoids your vitriolic diatribes. Laughable.

Chelsea in America (US Preseason Tour) 2022
What's up with the intense hatred for Pulisic. I admit he didn't do much yesterday, but to continually gloss over inept performances like that of Havertz, Werner, CHO, Ziyech and even Sterling who hasn't done a thing this preseason shows a truly myopic and naive recognition of the game. No blame for Tuchel? His system? The sh*tty midfield that can't penetrate to save their lives. Your continuous blame of one player, when it is obviously a system that is broke, is droll and tired.

Chelsea in America (US Preseason Tour) 2022
Not disputing how great he was playing for another team. My contention is that, under Tuchel, this is where attackers come to die. The system in place stifles the things that Sterling is good at. You will see.

Chelsea in America (US Preseason Tour) 2022
Agreed. He will return Mount to the right up front, play Sterling on the left. I also wonder why we haven't seen both Pulisic and Sterling on the field at the same time - two players that have the potential to run at their defenders. Think this pretty much signals that Pulisic is going to be used as a sub again. Think Werner really dropped down the pecking order based on his performance tonight and already being in Tuchel's doghouse.

Chelsea in America (US Preseason Tour) 2022
Agreed - but I don't think it ever came to fruition. As Axe said, I heard that initially too - and we know Klopp's relationship to CP. Whether it was all bs, or it just cooled down, it seems to have fizzled out.

Chelsea in America (US Preseason Tour) 2022
Good point - wingbacks in James and Chilwell have. I just think the offense Tuchel wants to implement relies on a big hold up striker, dominant in the box and in the air with the wingbacks crossing. Tonight, Arsenal fullbacks did a hell of a job not allowing the wingbacks to beat them outside to cross. Havertz is not the solution at striker, we get no inside penetration from our wingers so everything is constantly played back out. The second the ball slows down and the defense gets back and congested we are done.

Chelsea in America (US Preseason Tour) 2022
True. Don't think he is in much of a bargaining position, though, coming off a disappointing last season.
-
Chelsea in America (US Preseason Tour) 2022
I agree, at least on the attacking front. Who has progressed? Mount, maybe? Pulisic, Werner, Ziyech, CHO, Havertz have all regressed.

Chelsea in America (US Preseason Tour) 2022
Pulisic doesn't want to leave. He has stated many times exactly the opposite, that he is happy at Chelsea. Now, I don't know if that is something he would state publicly but not really mean it, but that is not really his style.

Werner, Ziyech, Alonso, Dave - who am I missing?
