I don’t think I have ever seen so much negativity on these forums.. the negative football.. the failed transfer targets and lack of moving on of dead wood has left most people very anxious..

We lost our beloved owner, who was forced in to the slow death at the club by limiting his ability to come to games and then they shoved the knife in him.

That and we don't know if we can trust the new owners yet or not, or trust TT when it comes to picking players to buy.

This and we're still in the dark about refurbishing the Bridge: will there be extra loos?

Well, I am going into the season thinking positive - some of you want to hate your own players, that's on you. We will turn it around starting Friday and that will carry on into our opener.

I think its more sarcasm than anything else...only the young fans are worried as they have only ever known 19 seasons of winning trophies....us old folk just soak it up and make incoherent, sarcastic comments for entertainment purposes only....which is more entertaining than what I've saw for most of last season and all of this pre-season.

I always go into a season positive but with a sense of realism. 

what ever happens in the remainder of the transfer window maybe one more big signing ?  we are still third in the league 

although I am of the increasingly rare bread that we are a very strong squad and our German forwards can still do the business

Pre season is a poor predictor of league form 

We've lost one great defender in rudiger and signed a good replacement in Koulibaly 

We have lost our star striker in Lukaku who was rubbish and signed a proven PL attacker in Sterling

We've also signed one of the PLs stand out midfielders last season to give cover for Kante. And chilly is back.

We have a stable owner and a passionate manager. Let's see what happens when the league starts and remember the transfer window isn't finished and the best value usually comes at the end of a window. Maybe we don't win the league, but there's no reason we have to go backwards. 

League, apart from winning the lottery, is already out of our reach. Let's not stress over that. We just need to close the gap a bit. Make good runs in the cups, mainly Champions League. See Gallagher and hopefully Ampadu and Colwill step into the level of Chelsea. See Koulibaly become one of the best defenders in the league. See Sterling lead our line. 

Lots of positives to expect if you just realize the level we are at.
