  1. Everytime I see this thread title it gives me a split second of hope that this prick has sold the club to someone who should be involved with English football. Jim Radcliffes bid was the obvious winner even as late as it was. Just want Roman back tbh.
  2. Might play Rush goalie? Given both of our keepers it may not be the worst idea.
  3. Extremely disrespectful this game is going ahead. Don't the Austrians know Queeny is dead? No fun allowed. Only State enforced sadness for the foreseeable.
  4. 3-2-3? Pulisic and Ziyech starting I guess?
  5. While I get the sentiment I can assure you Pulisic has absolutely 0% chance of being as good as Hazard, Salah or Henry or Sterling for the same reason I have no chance or the same reason almost every parent in the country knows their 20 year old sons have no chance. The talent just isn't there and it's clear to see. We've all seen Pulisics level and what he had to give and there's nothing worth wasting a squad spot on. Not every promising 16 year old becomes a top player, Pulisic is less like Henry and Salah and more like Borini and Kakuta but his countrymen won't give up the absolutely ridiculous idea he's some kind of special talent despite 249 games to the contrary. Personally I'd be very surprised to see Pulisic come anywhere close to Trossards career numbers, Pulisic has had the benefit of playing with elite attacking players in dominant attacking teams his entire career both at Dortmund and here and the reality is he's been the worst attacking player at both his clubs which is why he consistently finds himself on the bench regardless of the manager or the system. Potter needs quality, if he's stuck with Pulisic he'll almost certainly be looking for another job in 18 months. You just know the same people that wanted Tuchel out will blame Potter for not being able to get Hazard like performances out of a 23 year old that was a hyped youth prospect but has been dogsh*t his entire professional career.
  6. Pulisic probably typed out a long heartfelt message to Tuchel for letting him pretend he's a premier league footballer but missed the enter key when he tried to send it.
  7. Might be worse. Going from Trossard to Pulisic and Ziyech is a downgrade. Trossard 96 goals in 330 career games. Pulisic 44 goals in 249 career games. Potter might struggle to get a goal every 2 games out of our lot!
  8. He looked at Liverpools results and drew up the Contract for Klopp. Then he saw the table saw Brighton were higher and decided Potter was the man to implement his 4-4-3 formation.
  9. It isn't. Or at least it wasn't until they cancelled the football. Now people are in Mourning over the cancelled matches. I guarantee more people in the country are impacted/upset/annoyed at these cancellations than they are over Lizzy.
  10. not surprised just disapointed. Oh well anything so the media can pretend people care about Lizzy snuffing it while we're all working as usual, partying as usual and enjoying life as usual just with less entertainment options. The actual state of this country 🤣
  11. If he was we'd be kicked out the football league. Taking Brightons best player and giving them 2 players while consulting their manager would be the dodgy to say the league. Careful, thought out and planned aren't words that can be applied to anything Boehly has done since he bought club.
  12. Thank you. But I'm disappointed in you Ax. You think it should be up to the Royal family if the games are allowed to be played or not. Why? Why should one family get to make a decision that impacts the Livlihoods and economic situations of millions in the U.K and entertainment options of billions around the globe because of their own personal sadness? The Games aren't played in her honour, she isn't integral or remotely important to how the country operates so while it's sad for some and they're welcome to Mourn there's no just reason to be cancelling events. None at all. It's a family tragedy but little more than that when it comes to national or global impact and the Premier league is a global entity. Ps - to anyone on the forum, if the game does go ahead and you have a ticket that you're too saddened to use because you're in a deep state of mourning I'm willing to take it off your hands at cost price to ease your struggle in this dark dark time.
  13. As they should. It isn't fair on the players. The Premier league is full of international players, the majority of which aren't British and many who not only love representing their countries but are also in competition to secure a world cup spot. Forcing them to miss out on one of the last real chances to impress their manager It's 2022 I'm genuinely shocked and little disappointed there's even discussion of postponing a single game over this. It's shocking really.
  14. I think it's more accurate to say it's 12 days of the media pretending it's a big deal and constantly saying the country is in mourning while next to no one cares because the Monarchy had no real impact on their lives and they have far more important concerns be it bills/family/work/ etc and still want to dedicate their free time to football/partying/travelling or whatever else they do. Cancelling games for 2 weeks to pretend we're all mourning is absurd. A black armband and a minutes silence would suffice. Come down to Soho tomorrow night and you'll see just how much the average person is in Mourning.
  15. He's got a huge slice of luck with the Queen biting the dust. Could potentially have only have his first game in charge on the 1st of October. Giving him plenty of time to get to know the players and spend some time with them on the training ground rather than being thrust into 3 quick fire games in a few days.
  16. The Mourning will be because they keep cancelling games for no reason.
  17. Very true. This isn't one of them though.
  18. It would be absolutely ridiculous to postpone a single game over Lizzy but unfortunately you're probably right.
  19. I didn't. The key difference is Lampard took defenders that had a record of being solid at premier league level and had them looking uncharacteristically shaky. Tuchel inherited a bunch of attackers in Pulisic, Werner, Ziyech and Havertz that had never shown anything to suggest they could perform in the Premier league. It isn't like they were great under Lampard and regressed under Tuchel. Pulisic was our worst forward under Lampard the season before, considerably worse than Giroud, Tammy and Willian outside of his 3 week purple patch and then the attack fell off a cliff once Havertz, Ziyech and Werner came in with Lampard struggling to get much out of them. Both Lampard and Tuchel play very very different systems the only consistency has been the poor performance from the same poor attacking players.
  20. Potter feels like Tuchel from Wish. I genuinely feel like he'll set the team up the exact same way we'll just be far worse in the cups because he isn't tactically as astute and doesn't have the record of managing big players Tuchel had. Not happy or optimistic about this appointment. But every new manager deserves support. So all the best Graham. You're going gl need it with these attacking options.
  21. That isn't remotely true. Liverpool would never consider Pulisic, it was the most laughable rumour of the summer and didn't come from any serious source. We apparently offered Puli to Juventus, Milan and Roma in the summer as part of player exchanges and none of them were willing to take him. The only interest in either of them were loans. United wanted to loan Pulisic but we told them we'd prefer to sell at which point they said f**k no and decided to spend nearly 100m on a winger from the Dutch league. Ajax having recieved that sizable fee weren't willing to spend much of it on Ziyech. They're just not very good players and they'll get Potter sacked if he keeps them around. You can't have high expectations with such a low amount of natural talent in the forward positions.
  22. 5 of the 7 attacking players needed to leave this summer because they're not talented enough to play at this level. I think it's telling that both Ziyech and Pulisic were avaliable all summer and there were no offers for them. Surely if these were talented players being misused by Tuchel at least one other club would see that and want to take them at a low price to rebuild their careers. The next manager will have to remove them anyway.
  23. I wonder what players Potter will buy in January. Going to be interesting to see what the new manager in February has to work with.
  24. Tuchel. Boehly out. Tuchel back in. There's 100 better owners than Todd, the list of managers avaliable other than Tuchel is uninspiring to say the least.
