  1. Tbf In Courtois case it was a weakness of his. Kepa's biggest weakness is that he has no strengths, he's terrible at saving low shots, terrible at saving long shots, is terrible with the ball at his feet doesn't command his box and generally does nothing to indicate he's a premier league level goal keeper. Going from Cech and Courtois, spending 100m and ending up with Mendy and Kepa has to be one of the largest positional downgrades a club has had in such a short time.
  2. Not even close, Van Dijk wouldn't have got a game at Madrid or City all last season. And he's started this season incredibly poorly, he's living off his name more than any player on the planet right now he's generally been poor since his injury. There's nothing wrong with having a 31 year old centre back, a bit of experience is good at the back but I think there's a huge difference between having a key defender who has performed well for years turn 31 and bringing in a 31 year old that hasn't played in the league before and doesn't have any experience at the highest level or in winning trophies. Hopefully we see Koulibalies quality and aren't getting him in Van Dijks current stage having seen his best years behind him at another club.
  3. This is my main concern. Potter isn't some drastically different coach that sees football completely differently and will change the basic structure of the team. He's a low budget (despite us paying him more for some ludicrous reason) less successful, less experienced and less commanding Tuchel who's far more easily malleable and puppeteered by Boehly. Tuchel -> Potter is far less likely to improve results than it is to allow Todd and the suits to shape us into their beloved 4-4-3 or get their marketing all-stars into the team.
  4. I agree with that. But the rest of our attacking options over the last 2 seasons have been so far below Oscar he stands out as a shining beacon. I also think Mount is an 8 not a winger but hes constantly played out of position due to us having arguably the worst wingers in the league during most of his time here.
  5. Some might say Pulisic and Ziyech are a chuckle brothers tribute act.
  6. If you exclude Mount you don't have to say this season.
  7. Was like every Tuchel game this season. The players haven't changed. Attempted a few more passes forward but due to a lack of talent still couldn't create any chances. Defensive lapse at the back whenever the opposition go forward and points dropped.
  8. I'm not going to blame Pulisic. But has there been a more uninspiring attacking substitution in Chelsea history when you need a goal late on than Bringing on Pulisic for Sterling? May as well just send Puli on waving a white flag.
  9. He won't last the season. Not because he's a bad manager, he isn't, he's not a special one though and a massive downgrade on Tuchel. But ultimately he's at a club which has incredibly high expectations and an incredibly low amount of attacking quality.
  10. Giving Azpi a new contract is part of the reason the window was so bad. Barca panicked Boehly so much he gave a long term contract and a pay rise to a player who's legs have completely gone. No idea why he's playing games it's like if we gave final Mou season Ivanovic a new contract.
  11. 300m spent and we're ending the game with Pulisic and Ziyech on the pitch and 110m worth of new centre backs on the bench 🤣 We've genuinely just had the worst transfer window in football history.
  12. f**k sake. Another goal conceded and another game were our attackers can't create a chance. Tuchel out.
  13. I still have no idea why people say Havertz hasn't been great for us but he's clearly technically top level. I haven't seen much evidence of this supreme technique during most of his time here.
  14. Half time comes and we haven't had a shot on target at home to a team from Austria. I must tell you I'm absolutely shocked that these attacking players haven't already scored 2 goals each without Tuchel shackling them.
  15. The rest of our attackers make those mistakes 5 out of 5 times.
  16. This is why I always defended Tuchel. People would blame him for Ziyech, Havertz, Pulisic etc all being sh*t and point at the manager. But you can see the clear gulf in ability between Sterling and rest of our attackers. He's quality. Night and day.
  17. Wondering how Long it will take for the Myth that Kepa is good with his feet to dissappear. He's one of the worst keepers in the league with the ball but due to Mendy being worse and him being Spanish people talk about him like he's Ederson.
  18. Liverpool signed Van Dijk 5 years ago And Van Dijk has been sh*t for about a year now. Not really a good example.
  19. The irony of this post is hilarious. Do you think the faceless investment firms and our very own Clearlake Capital have the smaller clubs at heart when talking about a potential all star game? Shifting to the all-star format and denying the smaller clubs the chance of money spinning league cup ties will push those struggling further towards the end of the line. It would be incredibly damaging for those lower on the football pyramid. Not that Boehly cares about that.
  20. Nevermind Potter has already found Pulisics best position in just a week with the team. Potter in. Hoping for a good and exciting performance to mark the dawn of a new era even if it isn't one that fills me with optimism.
  21. I'd rather play the league Cup. Missing out on such an important cup in the football pyramid to play a proxy Yank fantasy tournament seems like a downgrade for the top clubs. It's also a downgrade for the league Cup itself and prevents the lower league club getting potential once in a lifetime money spinning ties.
  22. What kind of idiot buys a club, causes pretty much every senior figure in the club to leave immediately while having absolutely 0 idea of replacements leading to him lone wolfing it himself across Europe all summer while forcing Tuchel to fill in multiple back room roles outside his job description (which he publically admitted to being uncomfortable in) only to immediately dispense with him once the window finished. Fat boy Boehly showed an astonishing lack of respect to Tuchel on a human level which makes him a prick and I'd say him coming in and immediately talking about changing the format of the game so quickly, having just sacked such a successful and important figure in our history shows he has a clear lack of respect for the game and the fans. obviously on a business level removing the backroom team with no idea of any replacements and spending nearly £300m on players largely scouted by a manager you didn't want and didn't agree with only to sack him as soon as the window closed is a laughably bad way to run the club.
