I must be honest, I am really excited about this new season and this first match is as big a headache for Fulham's manager as it is for us in terms of guessing what formation and starters Alonso has in mind. The way he talked in his presser makes me think that he will use Palestra on the left, but God help us he is not set on Pedro Neto on the right wing. And hopefully the defenders are solid and set high standards in the first matches and give Alonso no choice but to keep Fofana on the bench after his suspension.

Feeling optimistic.

Being born in Wandsworth it was either Fulham or Chelsea. In my single digit years, I just liked our 1960s strip better. Blue is the colour.
I've lived with the ups and downs over the decades. I've enjoyed the great successes, but I'd strongly prefer a British ownership, even if it meant fewer star names. But you stay with your team, that's just what you do.

I'm now living in the high desert of the Shasta Valley in the far north of California. It's a long way from SW6, so this group is about as close as I'm going to get to my footballing home.

BTW, if you like salmon fishing, the recently undammed Klamath River a few miles from me now offers some of the best in the country.
