Blue Ram reacted to Scott Harris in Random RumoursOur midfield as it stands is w**k. Caicedo out for who knows how long, Enzo likely f**king off to City, old man Henderson who is injured, Lavia who is probably moments away from another injury, Barco who is untested at this level, James who isn't a midfielder and is another injury waiting to happen.
The way I see it is that we currently don't have a midfield. We have been sitting on this problem all summer when it should have been a priority.

Blue Ram reacted to axman2526 in Random RumoursIs the one glaring miss from an otherwise very good transfer window

Blue Ram reacted to Scott Harris in Random RumoursIf we mess this up and sign nobody, it brings our transfer window down to a 3 or 4 for me, just because it will absolutely destroy our season. Fulham and Brighton were a disaster off the ball in these first two games, our front 3 being in great form saved us big time. It's only a matter of time before we get comprehensively beaten and go on a run of poor results if we don't sort this out.
-
Blue Ram reacted to Sconnie Blue in Random RumoursIt’s such a glaring issue that it genuinely drags our entire window from a 9/10 down to a 6/10.
Lavia is walking straight back into the same cycle — looking like a future superstar for a few flashes, then breaking down and disappearing until the new year. I am not having Reece James or Malo Gusto as constants in midfield. f**k THAT.
-
Blue Ram reacted to axman2526 in Random RumoursI agree with you both. We hobble Alonso and the team if we Mess this up.
Means we either have a very good or a very bad day tomorrow.

Blue Ram reacted to Sconnie Blue in Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man CityI feel like this transfer window goes from a 9 to a 6/10 if we don't bring in a suitable CM.

Blue Ram got a reaction from 2211 in Emiliano MartinezWas impressed with him personally, deffo has a presence about him and constantly talking and organising during set pieces despite only having been here for 5 minutes.
Can't recall what the score was at the time but important save low just inside the post.
Solid debut even though we let 3 in.

RIP Dolly !

Blue Ram reacted to JM7 in Emiliano MartinezIt’s a strange to say considering that he conceded 3 goals but I was pleased with him overall.

Blue Ram reacted to 2211 in Emiliano MartinezNo need to suffer Sanchez anymore.
1 - Martinez was registered in time to play
2 - I'd rather have Penders
3 - Sanchez has apparently been told he can either leave or accept being 3rd choice

Blue Ram reacted to AndyDowsleftflank in Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man CityMy worry is that this is all a ploy to get back at us for the aftermath of the Maresca incident.
To be honest, its quite a good revenge tactic. Unsettle the player, make him go on strike - all without really having any intention of buying him. Leaves us with a major problem.
Dont think this is the fact but come on man. Just bid already
-
Blue Ram got a reaction from Sexyfootball in Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man CityI hope they get Camara in irrespective of what happens to Enzo, feel we need another "natural" player positional wise particularly with such a reliance on Moises.

Blue Ram got a reaction from erskblue in Chelsea v Derby County August 1983.Would be in a list of my favourite games , reason being for the absolute joyous feeling that experienced at Stamford Bridge that day. We had been through such a bad time in the previous seasons and didn't really know what to expect with all these new players but remember the feeling of incredible joy and excitement as the game went on and the realisation that we might actually have a team again after having gone through all the lows.
Wonderful day

Blue Ram reacted to Scott in Valentin Barco our Ginger ArgentinianWhen asked by a reporter about the booing every time he touched the ball Barco said ths:
“Honest to God? It felt like a Tuesday. I was getting screamed at by grown men in reserve matches back at Boca when I was 16. You think a crowd whistling at Stamford Bridge frightens me? Go play at La Bombonera when you misplace a pass—people are literally hanging off the iron fences, screaming in your face, ready to jump over. That is pressure. This over here? This is easy."
I'm liking this kid so far.

Blue Ram reacted to Dblue in Chelsea v Derby County August 1983.Was there that day-and Nevin's run is one of my most cherished memories. Watching from the Shed in front of the Tea bar Pat picked it up no more than 6 yards from our goal line, beat a couple of defenders immediately a one two with Kerry on half way then continued drifting past a more helpless Newcastle players and ended up hanging a cross to the far post where I think it was headed out for a corner..
We've had so many wonderful days in the last 20+ years but that season is still my favourite when taken as a whole. Saw 44 games including 2 reserve matches, 5-0 to start, 5-0 to finish, a new group of heroes from nothing really, fantastic away days all season (Man City on a Friday night my favourite I think) great foootball, fantastic atmosphere all year really.

A Moment in Time

In a new feature for the new season, we recall some of the most memorable games in our history through pictures. We start off with an opening-day classic that set the tone for a brilliant league-winning campaign...
Chelsea v Derby County, Saturday 27 August 1983, Division Two, Stamford Bridge
The summer of 1983 proved to be one of the major turning points in the club’s history. Eight players were signed as a reaction to the near relegation of the previous season, mostly youngsters from the lower or Scottish leagues, but also former hero John Hollins who joined as player-coach.
Midfielder Nigel Spackman, pictured below, had been spotted by manager John Neal and he opened the scoring on his debut inside five minutes. The 1983/84 season was off and running.
Things got even better early in the second half against a side many tipped for promotion. Our no.7 Clive Walker doubled our advantage and is pictured below celebrating with Colin Lee in front of a joyous Shed End.
Chris Hutchings made it three soon after and the Blues were rampant. Spackman's midfield partner John Bumstead fancied getting in on the act but this effort flew over...
Colin Lee swings a cross over from in front of the West Stand benches.
The scoring was completed with two goals by a new striker making his debut. His name? Kerry Dixon...
It was the start of a brilliant Chelsea career and he will go down as one of our very best no.9s.
The victory, and more importantly the manner of it, gave the team great confidence. We lost just one of our first 17 games and went top of the table on New Year's Eve.
We clinched the Second Division title on the final day at Grimsby, edging out Sheffield Wednesday on goal difference. It brought one of the most fondly-remembered seasons in our history to a perfect conclusion.
To find out more about the club's past visit the history section of the website with other great games and seasons featured.

I thought this article from the official site, posted back in August last year had been given a thread of it's own.
It has now !
