I didn't think the front office would get anything done. They did, and I was wrong. I'm ecstatic about the Luiz signing and definitely warming up to the Torres signing. If these two help us get back on track to winning trophies, all I can do is laugh and smile (and drink beer). And I had to pull my foot out of my mouth to type that. ;)

Me. However, I'm more and more getting comfortable with it because we sent Sturridge out on loan and we're dangerously thin. The Carroll £35mil transfer has helped ease my anxiety a bit as well, but not too much. I'm not opposed to Torres, I'm just opposed to the weekly salary and the transfer fee. I agree with Westway. Why didn't we just fork out the £27mil for Dzeko? Then we could have finished the deal for another £25mil for Luiz. Heck, if not Dzeko, we've shown the willingness to spend. Why not throw out some money to see if could land Aguero? or Lukaku? Still don't see Torres as the answer, but if this is what the management believe and they get the deal done, so be it. I'll still be cheering regardless.

I don't get this move at all. Why spend £50mil on Torres yet balk on what, £25mil, on Luiz? I believe that getting a central defender like Luiz should be a top priority (sure, I'll bite that we could use a striker and I would argue another midfielder as well). Obviously, I don't get paid to run the team and it's the front office's decision but I just don't get what they are thinking... And to make matters worse, we're already thin. Now the rumour is that we're try to ship Nico off to make sure this deal goes through? Um... What? So instead of bolstering the squad to deal with injuries, we're going to... Keep our numbers the same. And seeing how Torres doesn't get injured as much as Nico does, that makes sense. What, I have that reversed? You don't say... Is this the jolt this team needs? If this move does happen and Torres helps us get trophies, I'll be happy to stick my foot in my mouth. I just see this signing, for this price, as a fail of epic proportions.

Instead of throwing all the money at Torres, I wish they would get this deal done.
