Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals
I was hoping for a 0-0 draw so we could read how both teams were underwhelming. I guess if I had to go for a result one way or the other, it would be for Utd losing to help us possibly climb back into the race.

Malouda OUT, Zhirkov IN?
Not sure I can argue with this at all. Watching the match last night (had it recorded), it was nice to see how wide he was to the left even when the ball was out there, he was still going wider! He might be more of a natural fit for the 4-4-2. He definitely appears to have the understanding of how to play wide.

MOTM vs United
Finally watched the game... Wow, what a second half! I had a hard time with MOTM... I wanted to go with Luiz, I did. I went with Drogba. Why? The last four minutes and the control he had was a thing of beauty. Luiz was a VERY VERY VERY close second, but that last few minutes, the way Drogba seemed to control everything was just unreal. And I realize if it wasn't for Luiz's spectacular strike, and Zhirkov's run into the box, we're not even in those shoes. This is one of those times I wish I could vote for more than one. Flame away, but I did what I did. At the end of the day... 2-1 to the Blues! KTBFFH!

Chelsea v Man United (PL) 01/03/11 KO 19:45 GMT
Thanks Hutch. I looked on a lot of the highlight videos from the game and none showed it. That's a rough view but can't see what's wrong. In 4 hours time, I'll be watching the replay of it so I can yell and scream at the ref then.

Anyone have a link to a video for this? I'm dying to see it before I get home tonight.

Malouda OUT, Zhirkov IN?
Selling Malouda is a bad idea. I'll admit that I was, and still am a bit of, a Yuri skeptic. However, he's been great for us the last two matches and really does deserve a start. He's doing what he can to prove he's worthy of first team football at Chelsea. I say give him a start and let Malouda get some rest and sub time so maybe he can find his form.

Chelsea v Man United (PL) 01/03/11 KO 19:45 GMT
One of my mates, a die hard Manu fan, and I talked this morning. We're always honest with each other when it comes to the talks because we know things can turn in an instant. He told me that there was no doubt in his mind that we deserved the win due to our second half play. Yeah, Luiz probably should have been sent off but he acknowledged that Rooney shouldn't have played either. He also thought that the Berbatov sub was made a little late. He gave us a "congrats" and said he has no doubts we'll finish 3rd or better. Here's hoping he's right on that last part...

Chelsea v Man United (PL) 01/03/11 KO 19:45 GMT
I didn't get to see the game. I followed in our chat and using ESPN's GameCast for the first 45 minutes. I was able to listen in the car via XM satellite radio for the last 35 min. I do have it recorded, so I'll have to watch it. Sounds like we had a superb first 10-12 minutes, then we let United come at us which ultimately is why they scored. The second half just seemed like a complete turnaround. I started listening shortly after the Luiz goal and was just on the edge of my car seat all the way home. I was even yelling at the radio in the car for the lads to defend after Lamps hammered home the penalty (which my wife told me was a little too close for her liking). Sounds like there was a lot of open play and just hearing chance after chance we had, it was delightful. Unfortunately, the radiocast was the Manu sportscasters and all they did was whine and cry about Luiz and how he should have been sent off for challenges on Nani, Evra, and Rooney. I'll get to see what they were crying about when I get to watch the match. Of course, I was literally screaming at the radio for the pricks to shut their mouths because Rooney shouldn't have even been in this match. So hysterical how one sided they were about the whole thing. I am ECSTATIC about this win. I probably won't get to watch it tonight, but I will tomorrow night. Back to 4th with 3rd in sight. Let's keep the momentum going! KTBFFH!

If summer clearout happens?
Clearout or clearout with bringing in fresh faces? I don't want to see us get any more thin than we already are. I think we will lose personnel (Drogba and possibly Malouda) but I don't like the idea of being as thin as we've been this year. We cleared out personnel last summer and I think we've been bit by it. Guess we'll wait to see what happens.

Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals
Brilliant day of football. F**king brilliant! First the Scousers got it handed to them. Hitzlsperger did pretty well today, gave away a few passes, but set up Parker beautifully for that first goal which was amazing. Manc lost points today, it does make our draw at Craven Cottage look all the better. And finally, the icing on the cake, Arse blow it again. Quadruple? How about focusing on winning one trophy first? Smiles all around today. Let's take care of business on Tuesday and get three points!

Manure get more lenient reffing
What's the difference if we're in 1st, 4th, 5th, or 20th? I can see the TV replays being inconclusive... If you didn't see any replays at all. How anyone missed this is beyond me.

Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals
If that was one of our guys, they would have been given a red card immediately. Really touches on consistency with the refs. That was a deliberate elbow to the head and Rooney should have been shown the red. It's as simple as that.

As bad as Maradona and Suarez?
Think this one may be pointed at me for my comment. Dkw, I wasn't calling what he did a "professional foul". I was using "pro" in the gaming sense and it was being sarcastic. Like when we have someone screw up they get the comment, "pro move". It's completely the opposite. Sometimes I forget that terms even though stated the same could have completely different meanings. Sorry for the confusion. In any case, this was a blatant foul, cheat, and poorly executed (and funny to watch). Still, got to give the guy some kudos for actually slapping himself in the face. ;)

Zhirkov could quit Chelsea
I read this to say, if his quotes are verbatim, that if he fails to make the first team that he will start thinking of other possibilities. And you have to assume those possibilities will include his footballing career outside of Chelsea. Whether that means not signing a new contract after his contract expires, retire, ask to be sold, or whatever. I'll give you that he wants to back into the team, but it ALSO says that if he doesn't he will consider other possibilities. And what other "issues" does he have? I like Yuri, but he's been injured his fair share of time. I'm not sure what other "issues" he could have besides focusing on getting healthy AND working his way back into the team. Whether or not Carlo uses him to his liking is not under my control. That could very well become an issue, but I can't see it as one now since Carlo hasn't been able to use him due to his injury. I have to question whether or not you actually read the entire quote. This has nothing to do with me being negative. If the quotes are verbatim, I take it as somewhat of a threat that he would bolt if not given a chance (and chance is loosely defined by the beholder). Whether or not he's justified is really yet to be seen. However, if he's trying to make waves now, just as he's returning to fitness, he's got no right to be doing so.

As bad as Maradona and Suarez?
Definitely. This one has comedic value to it unlike Maradona's which was just... foul.

FC Copenhagen v Chelsea (CL) 22/2/11 KO 19:45 GMT
A 2-0 win against a team that held Barca 1-1. Sorry, what other elite teams were you wanting to mention? While we may not have been perfect, we deserved the win. We got it, time to move onward and upward.
