  1. The Spuds are definitely #1 on my list. Don't think that will ever change. I want them to lose horribly every time they step on the pitch. And that's who I voted for. I would probably say Le Arse and the Scousers are tied for #2. Leeds don't rate as high just because we don't play them anymore. The Spammers could be relegated, and that puts a smile on my face.

That's a great article by Giles Smith, and definitely spot on. I love this: Again... Great article.
  3. I'd be willing to bet that JT could hit a couple of shots from outside the arc! ;)
  4. That about sums it up nicely.
  5. I'm still shocked that it appears that we never even took a sniff at Özil. That's a creative midfielder that has the talent to feed the likes of Torres and whoever else is up on the front line for years to come. And he can score. But... What's done is done, and he's at Real. And I agree... No to Kaka. Four years ago, I would have said yes. I don't think he'll ever get back to those days. A shame, and he's likable, but he's not what we need to replace Super Frank. I would say that my pick from that list is Sneijder. While Ganso looks like a supreme talent, I think Sneijder can help right away and allows for Josh to get a few years under his belt. They could play together in the midfield and Josh would be next to "carry the torch".
  6. I'm not sure to laugh or cry at that ThunderDan...
  7. That quote from Pearce almost made me not enjoy my coffee this morning... And coffee for me is required in the morning. I don't function until a cup or two of GOOD java is rollin through the veins.
  8. Really was scared that it would end 0-0. I wasn't afraid of City scoring after the first 30 min, but I was scared that we wouldn't. Thought Luiz, JT, and Ramires were all fantastic. Torres had a very good performance today. He didn't get a goal, but he had some spirited runs and excellent passes. CA's subs were spot on. It changed the look of the front line and changed the outcome of the match. The most disappointing player for me was Malouda. He keeps trying to hard to score on his own and I saw him playing more in the middle of the pitch than out left. I also would like to see Ivan get those crosses in a little quicker. It seemed like he held on to possession a bit long and they kept getting blocked. Very good performance overall really. No major complaints. We wanted it more, we showed it, and we got the result. KTBFFH!
  9. Talking to my mate, a Manu fan, we're both pretty satisfied with this draw. Obviously the draw with each other will be tough, but we avoid the Spanish duo until meeting one in the final. I can live with that. He could also.
  10. Job done, we're in the last 8. Certainly wasn't the prettiest performance but I'll take it especially if it improves for the City clash this weekend.
  11. JT should tell him to go pound sand. It should have never been taken from him in the first place. He knows where he's loved, and that's right here in Chelsea blue. He is OUR captain, and damn proud to have him there.
  12. Don't think you're wrong here at all. The only change I could see would be swapping us and Bayern.
  13. Where are they saying this at? I count numerous teams that can beat the Spuds (almost all of the clubs that appear to be making the QF). They should be happy they are as far as they are. They day they get eliminated will make me smile and laugh. I hope they get Barca next.
  14. This thread brings up a lot of bad memories. I agree with a lot of the ones mentioned before. One of my standouts: 2009 CL Semi-final against Barca It peaked the hatred and despise for Barca that still rages on to this day.
  15. For me, this is all about fair play and I certainly didn't see that last night with this match. I'm happy to see Arsenal out, I am. However, the way they lost to Barca is unjust. Because we were screwed, does it make it right that another team get screwed even if it is one of our rivals? I'm trying to look at this unbiased because if I put the Chelsea blue over my eyes, I want both teams out, it just feels wrong the way this went. The Fabregas assist and the Busquets og cancelled each other out. So it's 1-1, and RVP gets that soft yellow. I don't care if he heard the whistle or not, I've seen much worse get nothing. I think he should have gotten a final warning from the ref, but nothing more. Although, who's to say he wouldn't have gotten a red card 5-10 minutes later the way he was carrying on... Then to see things like Villa rolling on the ground like someone shot his leg off, and running full steam 30 seconds later... It just disgusts me. I know, it's everywhere but Barca seem to do it the best. I'm with Ethical, the constant lovefest for Barca is sickening. To see an English team oust them, even Arsenal, would have been a joy. The thing Barca did do that was impressive to me was their wide play with their crashing of the box. The runs from the left and right flanks were just impressive. Combine that with Messi's unbelievable control and it's absolutely a dangerous team. Sad, they don't need the antics but yet they buy into them.
  16. I don't know why I watch some of these games. Such a disgrace today. Whether or not Barca was the better team, the ref was a disgrace especially with the soft second yellow to RVP. That changed the game and ultimately won it for Barca.
  17. I find Under Armour to be poor at best... Guess it's fitting that they are going with the Spuds. Adidas guy here, all day long. Been that way for almost 20 years.
  18. The RVP card is such a disgrace. Talk about a soft second yellow... Normally I want nothing more than to see Arsenal lose, but not to Barca. I actually want the Gunners to pull this off. And as I type this, Villa is in so much pain on the ground... Oh look, he's on his feet again. Disgrace.
  19. Spot on dkw! People seem to forget that we won. At times, winning isn't pretty. It doesn't have to be pretty as proven especially during Jose's runs to the title. Could we play better? Absolutely. However, I'll take the victory. 2 points behind City with a game in hand, onwards and upwards Chelsea!
  20. Lamps for me. I thought the performance was flat except a spell early in the second half. Three points though, and I'll take it.

I agree with you mad_mac. I also think he's still trying to integrate himself into the team. And, the team is trying to get used to having Torres in the lineup. His runs have been great and I just don't think the team is used to it yet. He, and the team, need more time. If we keep winning, that's really want counts.
  22. It's a good chance I'm blinded by the team he currently plays for, but no thanks. ESPECIALLY at that type of money. There are other options for much cheaper that I think can do better for us.
