  1. Not thrilled if it's Harry. Not thrilled at all.
  2. Is it appropriate to boo here? ;)

I'll be going for the new battlefield over MW3. I've always enjoyed the BF series more.
  4. Arq replied to bjd's topic in General Chelsea FC
Good read Hutch, thanks for that.
  5. Same here Mod. I took the third option but I hope Barca win all while doing their standard cheating and diving so people can see them, and the competition, for what they are.
  6. Hope England pull it off, my Germans didn't make it. And I agree Cam, it would have been nice to see Josh there.

Brilliant! Thank you Gem! And certainly, thank you CA! I wish you nothing but the best of luck in the future... Unless you face us, then sorry mate. You're going down. ;)
  8. It doesn't really matter, he has been sacked. It's just time to move on and hopefully to bigger and better things.
  9. He was under fire at Galatasaray during his 2nd year of his contract (out of 2 years) and left the club last October. Galatasaray finished 8th in Süper Lig, and of course that wasn't all Rijkaard's doing since another manager finished the season. I'm not sure why he left, but I am sure it wasn't positive. A few bad matches and you know he'll be under fire here. The positive is that he was at Barca from 2003 through 2008. However, take a look at his Barca records on his wiki. Notice the steady decline after that 2005-06 season? I'm sorry, but I don't see much of a difference between he and Carlo except that I would argue that Carlo was better. I think Rijkaard would be another 1-2 year solution at best. Our club doesn't need that.
  10. A buddy of mine was pulling on my leg and stated that our next manager would be... Rafa Benitez. I may not talk to him anymore.

My wife has a kindle and the Sony e-reader. She enjoys both. I think the question you have to answer is whether or not you want e-ink or not. E-ink will be better for reading in the sunlight and will have a longer battery life. A tablet is more versatile and allow you to do other things, like play Angry Birds if you like. :)
  12. If this was a 3 year plan with Zola then moving to our manager, I'd sign up for that. I would really enjoy that and I think it would help build stability with Zola being groomed for the position.
  13. There are some interesting names on this list. Andre Villas Boas is the hot name at the moment, I think that much is clear. I haven't figured out who I'd want to replace Carlo. Joachim Löw is a name that interests me but I'm not sure how he'd do back at a club team. He's done very well for the DFB, and Klinsmann used a lot of his ideas. I'm just not sure it would translate to the club level. Would Pep do well here? I'm unsure. We all know what we'd get with Mourinho. If only Guus was 10 years younger. What concerns me about Guus is that he'd come back but would only want to manage for a couple of years. I'm not voting until I think about this one for a few...

Wow, that was quick. Rather that than keep everyone hanging. I didn't see this post while I was responding to the match post for today. I guess my answer of "Should Carlo go?" by the club is yes. Thanks Carlo for the double and being a classy manager. I wish you the best of luck in your next endeavor!
  15. I didn't get to watch the match today, I've been at my son's football tournament all weekend (I'm the assistant coach). Great weekend for the lads, they finished second in their division but won the Championship against the team that beat them the first game of the tournament. Sounds like we were just horrid today. Not sure really what else to say. Should Carlo go? Should Carlo stay? Who should be let go or sold? Who should we bring in? I really have no idea. I'll have to try to watch the "highlights" (lowlights?) and go from there. Right now, I can't think and I'm nursing a nasty sunburn. Darn sunblock lotion failed even with one hour applications.
  16. Congrats to Cech, Ash, Josh, and Ramires! And congrats to all you buggers that got to go. I'm jealous.
  17. Cech for me with Ivan second.
  18. You and me both mate. Last year I was struggling mid-table in this competition.
  19. Good luck TBB, it'll be a close one. Although if we beat Everton 2-1, I won't be too upset about losing our competition.

Recoup most of the £50million?? Wow... I certainly hope not. Not that it's my money, but that's seriously overpaying (even more so than Torres) for someone that will probably never get his form back.
  21. Well done lads! Been a busy evening for me, about to catch up on the reading now about it.
  22. Whether or not I want to him to go, I believe I watched his last home match as a Chelsea manager. To me it looked like it was written on his face that his time is done.
  23. Shocker of a performance today. I was excited to see our last home match of the season and was just bloody frustrated by the time the final whistle went. One more match left. At least I cracked a smile when Le Arse lost today. Here's to hoping we can snag 3 from Everton. It'll be tough, but anything is possible. I don't know what to think about next season... Manc and Manu will be up there for the title. Le Arse will be doing the same as this season, fighting for a CL spot. Not sure about the Scousers and Sp*ds. If we have another lengthy "bad moment", we'll be in trouble. And finally, I'm sad that football season is coming to an end. Very sad indeed. Great season or not, it's always fun to watch. I'll be missing that over the next coming months.
