As a neutral I must admit I'm really looking forward to Saturday's final. Fire up the BBQ have a few beers then setlle down to watch the game whilst the Mrs clears up.........

Anyway, I can only REALLY enjoy a sporting event when I favour one of the sides. Whether it's football, cricket, boxing, tennis whatever. If I watch any kind of event but don't care who wins, I lose interest, so I'm desperately trying to get into the mood and back one of them.

I guess it should be Barca, 'cos unlke some on here, I do admire them and any team with Messi in is gonna be worth watching. I know my son will be cheering them on.

But on the other hand I don't have a real dislike for Utd, like I do with Liverp**l, Sp*rs or Ars*nal and in fact I recall when they beat Bayern Munich to do the treble, as much as I didn't want them to win when the match kicked off, as the game went on I found my dislike of the German team over-taking my feelings and I actually cheered when those late goals went in and Utd won (any Britsh win over Germany has to be a good thing!)

But Barca are Spanish of course and I like the Spanish, so I can't see that happening. But then again if the diving and antics starts up, that will work in Utd's favour.

Guess I'll just have to wait for the match to unfold before I pledge my allegiance. Still gutted that we are not involved but at least I can watch and hopefully enjoy the game without the butterflies and feeling of nausea.

COME ON YOU....................................?

Couldnt stand if United and Ferguson won the CL so Barca for me even if they are cheating scumbags.

I like the third option Nibs :D but I am going to say Barca, I can't stand them but I hope they cheat their way through the whole 90 minutes and other teams wake up to the corruption of this competition.

Even with all the cheating Barca has looked most like the team that deserves to be called the best in Europe. And this is from someone who has never liked Barca. It's going to be the third time that I'd prefer Barca to win a match. The other two were the finals against Arsenal and ManU. Everyone has expected Barca to win it since the start of the season and the less trophies ManU wins, the better. But most importantly I'm hoping that it would be a great football match. I'm probably asking for too much as finals rarely are great matches.

Same here Mod. I took the third option but I hope Barca win all while doing their standard cheating and diving so people can see them, and the competition, for what they are.

It's an incredibly tough choice this. There's probably a sum total of 5 players between the teams I can stand. Given I'll have the choice between staying in bed and watching the match I might even opt to sleep through and not watch at all.

The football that Barca are capable of playing and the fact that they're not a "local" rival mean I want them to win. but you're right it would be great to see them cheat their way to the win.

I have gone barca. i hope they win in a very undeserved manner so that people will always have an asterix next to their name for this season just as people should for the 2009 competition

I have some Utd mates/relations, so I'll want them to have a good night, I dont know any Spaniards, simple as that really.

I honestly can't pick one. I hate them both equally.

The thoughts of United winning the EPL and ECL pisses me off, but I also detest the Barcelona w**kfest that is innevitable if they win (again)...

I also have some United mates and they'll be unbearable if they win this. Add to that the fact that when we were talking about it the other day that they made it clear they'd be supporting Barca if it was the other way around, I'm going to be rooting for the Spaniards in this one.

Barca via brilliant football and mass cheating and for Fergie to go ballistic please.

that would be just swell

Gone for united for 3 reasons. 1- hate those cheating "more than a club" hypocrites more than utd. 2 - it will get them one more CL closer to pissing the scousers off even more, always funny. 3 - Its a win win. If Utd win, I can celebrate them beating those cheating tossers and can wind up scousers. If they lose, I can laugh my left knacker off and wind up mancs.

Nice vid of Fergie showing just what a twat he is as usual

Placed a sizeable wager on Barca with Ladbrokes at the beginning of last season to win the Champions League.

So obviously I'm rooting for them!

Never never never never never am I going to support any English club but Chelsea. Even if clubs like Barcelona or Bayern Munich are the opponents.

I'm in the minority of people who actually doesn't hate either of these clubs. I admire Utd for what they have achieved over a long period of time and I enjoy watching the likes of Iniesta, Messi and Xavi when they are on song. I don't really care who wins as long as I see a good game of football.

I was thinking about saying something like that and then I imagined how I'd feel if a little Club like Blackpool somehow against all the odds were to meet Barca at any time in any competition.

And I thought still no.

I'd support another English club if they weren't a rival or one i particularly hate. So basically if it was any club other than:

Man Utd

Arsenal

Liverpool

Spurs

Leeds

Fulham

West Ham

Stevenage

Newcastle

Man City

But then again, only if they were playing a big side that they were expected to lose against, if they were playing anyone else I'd prefer for the foreign side to embarrass them.

Barca, lesser of two evils. We only have to tolerate their sh*t sporadically, United we have to look at all the time.

What he said.

Definatley Barca. They do play much better football, and united fans massively piss me off.

Another good point. Whist Barca players may be divers, their fans tend to be fairly good people, unlike those bar stewards who support Manure.
