Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
How this pile of manure is allowed to be published is beyond me. Apart for the amount of dead wood signed by Benitez at Liverpool there is no other truth int he whole article.

Fans Anti- Abramovich protest on Sunday (Merged Thread)
Oh people at the Bridge will stay classy on Sunday don’t you worry about it. Especially when on the first corner City will exploit the zonal marking and go one nil up.

Robbie Di Matteo sacking (merged)
Here is my theory, because of the rumours in the press in the last few weeks that Man City, AC Milan and others (including Man Utd if I’m not wrong) have been in negotiations with Guardiola to get him at the end of the season, Abramovich panicked and offered him the job right now to beat the competition and once he secured his services he sacked Robbie.

Robbie Di Matteo sacking (merged)
I saw someone in my local Tesco at the weekend that looked suspiciously like Guardiola. I nearly asked if it was him.

Robbie Di Matteo sacking (merged)
Yes, because it's the most pointless of all the sackings. No manager is gonna get the CL qualification back in our hand and Di Matteo has got as many chances as any other manager to do well in the league. On a separate point, how can any manager get control of the Chelsea dressing room when all the players know he is a couple of bad results away from the sack.

Robbie Di Matteo sacking (merged)
I just found out on the match thread, I was about to post a comment on how he f@cked it up last night with his tactics, but the sack! Bloody hell! What's the matter with these people?

Edinson Cavani - £50m
I can’t believe you quoted “marginallyâ€, like I am the only nutter in the world who would think that a difference 0.08 goal per game is a marginal difference. Of course you can say that Falcao is “by far†the better striker, but if you don’t back it up with facts what’s the point. I don’t see why you are puzzled by what I said. You say that my comment about the hard work is not justified even if I said “probabalyâ€, well it is because I said “probably†that my comment is justified. Although, I haven’t seen enough of him one can take plenty of other things into consideration. Of all the people here that have made a case for Falcao no-one has mentioned his hard work for the team, you who are making a such a strong case for him in every thread you take part in haven’t mentioned it (you have even dismissed it as not needed), I haven’t read any article that mentions it, so it’s safe to assume that the hard work for the team is not one of his top attributes. While with Cavani you can’t avoid comments on the web or newspaper articles about how hard he works for the team. By the way this morning a Chelsea fan friend of mine told me how Falcao was “absolutely awful, couldn’t get in the game at all last nightâ€. I thought I’d mention it.

Edinson Cavani - £50m
It's alright I'll take it all back, I have just read that Falcao said he was a big fan of Zola. Bring him in!

Edinson Cavani - £50m
Okay I should have said “while playing in serie a†rather than “in serie a†meaning he scores 30 goals a season while playing in a top footballing league not in the Moldova league (you can do all the comparisons you want with Spain, Italy remains a top footballing country) and by the way, so far Falcao has never scored 30 goals just in the league either. I don’t have a problem if you prefer Falcao or Falcao’s style what I have a problem with is that Falcao is “by far†the better player or Falcao is a “demon of a scorer†while Cavani is a potential flop when the facts show that Falcao has only a marginally better scoring record whatever way you look at it, in total number of goals or in the total number of games where they scored. While the work rate for the team between the two probably bares no comparison.

Edinson Cavani - £50m
I think you are splitting hair with the stats. First I don’t think there is much difference between the two leagues, if anything in Italy they play more defensive football and therefore is harder to score there. With regard to the two players, according to wikipedia, Cavani has scored 57 goals in 80 games for Napoli (0.71 goal per game), Falcao has scored 34 goals in 43 games for Atletico (0.79 goal per game). In the national team Cavani has scored 13 goals in 45 games, although he plays as wide player there and not as centre forward (Suarez is the centre forward), and Falcao has scored 15 goals in 41 games. Obviously, they are both top scorers, however, these days that doesn’t seem to be enough anymore, the work rate is also very important, look at Messi and look at Barcelona, and as I said I haven’t seen enough of Falcao to know what his work rate for the team is, while I have seen enough of Cavani to know how hard he works in a game. Cavani is a year younger, he has played as a wide player before playing for Napoli and plays as a wide player for the national team and apparently is has been tactically very disciplined since the age of 19 (I read this somewhere). However, from the goals that Falcao scores and the games he scores in he does seem to have more of a killer instinct, but in our particular case can we really afford to carry Mata, Oscar, Hazard and Torres/Falcao, dosen’t someone needs to help out. Don’t get me wrong if we get Falcao I would be very happy, I am just speculating here.

Falcao to Chelsea?
If you want Falcao you will always pay “massively over the odds†not matter what month it is. To be honest I am a bit surprised that his buy out clause is only €60 million, considering that they paid close to €40 million for him.
-
Falcao to Chelsea?
Get him on a monthly rolling contract.

Edinson Cavani - £50m
Falcao might be a better finisher, I haven’t seen enough of him to judge, although how much better a finisher can he be than someone who scores 30 goal a season in Serie A I don’t know. However, in any given game Cavani doubles up as right winger, left winger, play maker, holding midfielder, left back, right back and centre back. Where an extra body is needed that’s where you find him.

Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 11/11/12 KO 16:00 GMT
I'm not too sure about that. We seem to suffer teams that have good ball possession and play a good passing game. And believe it or not, from what I saw last weekend against Newcastle, Liverpool have both.

Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 11/11/12 KO 16:00 GMT
I lost the tie break question in the local pub quiz last night. The question was: Who am I? I was all over the TV in the seventies and eighties, but have been completely irrelevant for the last 25 years. I am closely linked with music of the 1960's and I am famous for wearing tacky, shiny shell-suits. I have been in trouble with the police and am despised by the whole country? Apparently the answer wasn't Liverpool supporters.

Chelsea v Shakhtar Donetsk (CL) 7/11/12 KO 19:45 GMT
To Bobbywoodhogan and Hunterrr He couldn’t have been that awful if some of his mistakes lead to nothing while some of his crucial interceptions stopped Shaktar from scoring. I thought it was Mata that lost track of him or was that the first goal?
-
Chelsea v Shakhtar Donetsk (CL) 7/11/12 KO 19:45 GMT
Up there with the best results of all time. And yet both Shaktar's goals came because Bertrand and Hazard didn't have a bloody clue what they were doing on left side.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
I am not even sure he was referring to Chelsea teammates. In an other paper is translated as "I had many teammmates" which made me think about throughout his carrear rather than last year. In Spanish he probably said "I have had many teammates"
