Any news on Lukaku today? Not even on the bench

You ever think that maybe nobody offered any fee for Essien. Why would you? He does only have one year left on his contract and he has had a ton of injury problems. Why not just take the risk and wait til next year. This way Chelsea gets his wages off the books, plus Madrid don't take a huge risk by paying a transfer fee. Essien wasn't going to get game time here anyway. Seems like it makes sense.

My question would be where do you think a new signing would start? We wouldn't find a player to start over our back 4 of Ivan, Luiz, Terry, Cole. Our attacking options are pretty set, Torres, Hazard, Mata are starters for sure. Ramires IS a starter. He was one of our best players last year. Mikel and Lampard are the only ones that could be/should be taken out of the starting 11. Oscar can play the Lampard spot and the Mikel spot is always debated. (Peronally, I don't think there is a holding mid AVAILABLE that would take out Mikel.) There really isn't many players that could be taken out of the starting lineup.

I think I am most disappointed that f**king Malouda is still on this team!!! How is that possible?

Sometimes you can have too many "possession" guys. We need guys that want to score goals first. Danny has a different dimension that none of the other players have. Yes, he is selfish at times but we have tons of guys that are unselfish. We need Danny in the squad.

I don't understand this move/interest. Why sign a young player that is capable of playing a couple positions up front, and then loan out a young player that we already have that can play multiple positions up front? Especially since Danny is homegrown. Doesn't make sense.

Not so much. You always want to beat the best/title holders. There is extra motivation there. Not fear

Maybe thats true. I thought when he was signed he wemt right out on loan and didnt get a shirt number here yet? Not sure though.

Lots of tweets going around that Moses will wear 33. I guess we don't have many numbers left without players leaving. 13 is the only low number left and it seems nobody ever wants it. 15 would have been perfect for Moses but Malouda has to mooch on the team some more. 15 (Malouda) 16 (Raul) 30 (Yossi) and maybe 5 (Essien) would be the one that could open up, but i don't think a player can switch numbers in the same year.

Oh ya. You're right. Forgot about that. So 18, and 20 are out also for Lukaku and Josh.

I just don't see how we won't get rid of some players. We have Marin, Moses, and Cesar that haven't played a game yet, plus Oscar will probably get more game time. There have to be players leaving. There won't be time for people like Malouda, Raul, Yossi. Young players like Kakuta and Josh will have to go on loan. Kakuta may even be sold.

Ive seen liverpool play a couple times now and Borini hasnt shown anything. I was never sold on him at chelsea and i still dont think he is even a top 6 club in the PL talent. Missing a lot of chances so far this year.

Lamps doesnt deserve to start the way he has been playing but Raul???? Cmon. Why not essien??

Just because Luiz and Cahill are both available to start doesn't mean that Ivan won't start at CB before one of them. Just saying, if Terry is out RDM may opt to have a healthy CB on the bench and start Cesar at RB. If he starts Ramires on the right wing there is cover.

He may actually start on Saturday if Terry is out with a neck injury. Ivan would probably slide over to CB

Does anybody know why the numbers on the back of the home kit were white for the PL game yesterday and gold for all of our preseason games? The gold looks so much better as it goes with the rest of the kit. Any idea where to get one with the gold?
