Atletico v Chelsea - (CL SF 1st Leg) 22/04/14 KO 19:45 BST
im no medical expert but that looks a pretty serious gash on costas leg - surely he couldn't really be ready to play a competitive football match 9 days after doing that ??

Swansea v Chelsea (PL) 13/04/14 KO 16:07 BST
Yeah maybe, he wasn't the only one to be fair. He just seemed to be way off everyone's wavelength. No harm done.

Swansea v Chelsea (PL) 13/04/14 KO 16:07 BST
Was it just me or did anyone else think Oscar was actually drunk in that second half? So wildly off the pace and when the ball did come to him it's like he honestly had no idea what he was supposed to do. Very strange. All about the win today. Performance was secondary, but let's face it, we were staggeringly uninspiring.

Ah got it! Was definitely the right result for us today then. No arguments there.

Are you sure? Am I getting mixed up here? It's really complicated. We can definitely still finish above Liverpool.

Yes it is.

How on earth can a result that puts the title race in Chelsea's hands be considered anything other than a positive one?

A brilliant result for Chelsea football club. Now - let's get to work.

For some people the priority seems to be : 1 Hate Liverpool 2 Support Chelsea I just find it so alien. Not what it's about for me at all.

That your choice mate, I just find it a staggering attitude. Let's beat Swansea anyway that's the only big game for us today.

Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2013-14
I know - this is about Chelsea's chances of winning the league, not Liverpools. I'm amazed at what I'm seeing on here. It's staggering. People honestly want liverpool to lose rather then Chelsea having the title race in their own hands again?

Agree , think he's been outstanding. Fancy City for this now.

We should actually be supporting Liverpool here fellas. At least in regards to our title chances anyway.

What's wrong with our set pieces and how do we fix it?
It honestly feels like our corners have been generally sh*te for about 20 years now, and i truly dont mean that as an exaggeration. If we had a regular decent delivery we certainly have the players to benefit. At the moment id say Frank is the worse culprit, Hazard not too far behind. Always seem to be up and down outswingers too.

So. Edison Cavani then ? Meh. Pretty much everytime ive seen him too.

Diego Costa to Chelsea
Does he really though ? At least in 2014 ?

Diego Costa to Chelsea
If Chelsea are going to rid themselves of the Torres burden i would suggest the most likely outcome is a loan deal where Chelsea pay a % of his wages. Chelsea will have to swallow it, Its absolutely time to move on from this fiasco and you get the impression that the club are starting to think the same way too.

EPL "Elite" League 2013-2014
Its also depressing reading for a Chelsea fan too. Looking at that you'd assume the title is sewn up already. No good winning those games if you then lose to Villa, Newcastle, Stoke and Palace! Makes all that hard work and good play in those games above pointless.

Diego Costa to Chelsea
Not convinced it will happen myself, no doubt we have an interest but Costa is big news and i think we could easily get blown out of the water by someone a lot richer than us - and there is nothing we can do about it. A lot like last year with Falcao and Cavani (if indeed we were interested) We cant complain - we've done it enough times to other clubs, but lets be honest, we are not the richest players anymore. I just hope if it doesn't happen the club has been sensible and has alternative realistic targets.

Press Hysteria
C'mon Val, we were due. It's been all of 2 weeks since the last one. Yawn.

Willian
For me this is what it comes down to. £30 million. Yes i know he does a handy job and i know he works for the team but its just not unreasonable for us to have expected a little more for £30 million. We'd have the same amount of energy and running if we had signed Lee Cattermole. I think he is decent enough (i gave him my mom last night) but he cost £30 million. Just a little under what we paid for Hazard and more than we played for Mata and Oscar. Suarez cost less. As did Silva at City. Obviously its a little unfair to compare him to other transfers at other clubs for that type of outlay there should be more end product and id even allow for a settling in period when saying that too. Its genuinely not unfair to compare Moses contribution last season compared to Willians when your look at the prices paid. We'll see if he improves next season, he's done enough to be considered a worthy member of the squad but I cant help but feeling we have overpaid and the money wouldve been far better spent elsewhere. Already said somewhere else this morning that we have 4 current Brazilian internationals on our books that cost approx £100 million. We simply are not seeing that outlay repaid at the moment.

PSG v Chelsea - (CL QF) 02/04/14 KO 19:45 BST
I agree that PSG were not that great, however that alone should set alarm bells ringing. How in that case did they manage to run out clear winners and also what happens if they play better next week? It was clear they could be got at. Also it was obvious us getting back into the game threw them as they genuinely seemed all at sea for a 20 minute period after we scored which is obviously the downfall of having a whole league to yourself and to have your way with week in week out. And yet we managed to let them win 3-1 and head to London as clear favorites. Ive seen a few posts along the lines of 'get a grip we came back against Napoil'. Well, if only football was that simple. PSG are a team filled with experienced players who have many big medals between them. We have given ourselves a mountain to climb. Blanc and his coaching staff must be pissing themselves this morning. Furthermore if they have any sort of nous they will have their tactics all sorted for Tuesday already. Very simply they just need to park the bus, assuming we wont be able to break them down. Of which there is no evidence to suggest we will. The squad look bereft of ideas and energy and most shockingly in some personnel, bereft of desire too. An early goal on Tuesday and who knows ? I just wouldn't bet on it myself, now thats not me being a doom merchant, im just being realistic and ive come to that conclusion based on some pretty compelling evidence. But by lord, i hope im wrong! It was just appalling last night i thought, in pretty much every aspect.

PSG v Chelsea - (CL QF) 02/04/14 KO 19:45 BST
Great post Plokoon, but also a tad depressing to read. I maintain i think we are a couple of big players from being mustard, but performances like that wonder if im way off with that summary. We looked anything but top contenders at the European table last night, and as others have said PSG didnt even have to play well to score 3 goals. Imagine the difference a player like Lavezzi or Veratti would make to us and they are not even two of the big names there - and most eye catching of all was the players on their bench. Fair play to them, they've spent big and spent well. You cannot say the same for us.

Willian
I think thats fair comment but for £30 million its not unreasonable to have expected some more end product. My dog runs around a lot too, and he only has one assist less than Willian this season.
