  1. Also regarding this season Chelsea have generally played as more of a team than relied on individuals, Hazard is standing out now of course and if he has another couple of good games he will be a shoe-in for Feb POTM i guess. Honestly, just stop and think about it for one second - the whole notion that the powers that be that run our game 'hate' Chelsea because they dont give them regular awards is absurd (and as your post suggests, inaccurate anyway).
  2. Deary me. Are you really that outraged by this ? Honestly ? And more to the point, are you suggesting the FA/PFA honestly have a bias against one of the clubs that help make the Premier League so successful and so popular across the world ? At best id day that it is misguided paranoia, at worse id suggest its total nonsense. Not aimed as a dig at you, but i think that some of the examples being provided on this thread of this so called blanket hatred and total bias against anything Chelsea are clutching at straws a little.
  3. Absolutely! They'd be no point otherwise. I guess thats what im doing on this thread actually, but the poster above seems to think its weird (just joking Dorset!) I guess its rich of me to talk about people getting a life, only for me to spend Sunday afternoon typing on football forum about something that doesnt actually bother me.... The internet, deary me.
  4. Whoa! Calm down there petal. that wasnt aimed at you. i just used the Richardson comment as an example. Ive commented a lot today yes, but thats because i find it strange seeing all these posts from people who are so bothered by the subject , i just cant get my head around it.Yes, Ive made it very clear it doesnt bother me but does that stance mean i can only make one post on the subject ? Didnt realise there were rules. Now thats weird... Its great that these people make you laugh Dorset, i think thats the approach that everyone should take. Its just your post (and plenty of other (excellent) posts youve made come to think of it) suggests that it does bother you! In that respect you may wanna read that post back yourself... But again, i must emphasise - i wasnt taking aim at you personally, apologies if you felt it was.
  5. That podcast you mention was a very interesting listen and i certainly recommend to anyone, particularly those who are so offended if we are not universally praised. I thought it was actually pretty balanced and all the journos (even Ashton) were at times fair, it was a very interesting insight. Apologies, ive gone on a rant a bit too much about this today. I think its just one 'the media hate Chelsea' yawnfest to much for me The simple fact of the matter is every fan of every team thinks the media treat them unfairly. Trust me on this. Even Liverpool fans do, laughably. Yes there are some journos who dispose so obviously it almost gets to the point of pantomine (Patrick Collins for example) us but there all also some who are often very fair and biased towards us , Beasley for example. Let us also not forget that we bring a lot of stuff on ourselves... Yesterday, the game and performance of the day was at Anfield. Can anyone dispute that ? Liverpool deserve all the credit coming their way. Thats why our return to the top of the league has been a little overshadowed. Lets go back a few days though - on Monday our performance at City universally got praise, in fact more praise than i can ever remember us getting. Honestly, people get way too worked up about this nonsense - i mean, if i was seething that Gary Richardson from the BBC or wherever was not giving us a mention on a podcast i think id take a long hard look at my life and my priorities, i really would.
  6. Think you need to focus on whats important my friend. This really shouldn't be bothering you quite as much as it clearly does. Don't listen. Don't read. Don't watch. No one is asking you to do any of these things. Go for a walk instead, youll feel all the better for it.
  7. Lipton is a spurs fan, 100%. I think he's decent, always tries to see both sides of the story and is very interactive with supporters. He gets a bad name from chelsea fans I think because of the Gigi Salmon flip flop thing on Chelsea TV news a few years ago which was an embarrassing abomination that Im staggered the club chose to air. I'm even more staggered that some chelsea fans seem to think it was a victory for the man over journalists.
  8. Quite clearly they do. Why, I have no idea. People obsess over it. I just don't get it. It's nonsense. How many of these threads do we get?!! I watched Sunday Supplement today and there was plenty of praise for Chelsea. Picking out two examples from journos of a supposed bias that were actually truthful is a bizarre way of backing up you're argument!
  9. Both of which are true. I know I say this EVERY time one of these treads is started (every week) and I know im in the minority in thinking this but I just find the whole concept of 'the media hates Chelsea'' so worn and tiring and ultimately, false. Fans of every club think there is an agenda against them and that's a fact. People obsess about it too much. If it really bothers people that much then turn it off. Don't watch, read or listen, you will enjoy life at lot more.
  10. David Coverdale used to be in Whitesnake, but seems to have changed career. Clearly a much better classic 80s rock singer than pundit. Here I go again....
  11. Has to be the Barcelona game. So iconic. Last night was very special though, the performance more so than the result. The way people had been spouting on about City beforehand made it all the more sweeter.
  12. Manchester City are a big club. Always have been, and pretty much on a par with us historically id say. Same level sort of level as Leeds, Everton, Spurs and Villa perhaps. Big clubs, but traditionally not at the top level like Liverpool and Man Utd. Obviously we have made massive strides this past decade which have led us to current levels ways above those other clubs but City are simply doing the same thing now. Totally agree about a section of their support being deluded halfwits though.
  13. Wont get anywhere near £15 millions for Moses. His value will not have increased during his time with us, despite his initial fee being lower than normal due to his contract situation. Also anyone expecting that Torres will be offloaded is in for a shock. Im sure the club would love to get him off the wage bill,, in fact i reckon they be happy to write off the £50 million right now. But the only way he will leave would be if the club subsidise his wages but who out there would really want such a busted flush? Mark my words, Torres will be here until the final minute of his contract in 2016. The club made a rod for their own back with this one.
  14. Its far too easy to just list names of players that could/should be sold. Its just never that simple. You have to factor in contracts and wages too. Bear in mind that Chelsea pay some of the highest wages in world football, which is great for attracting players but not so good when trying to offload them. Take someone like Mikel for instance, no doubt he is on at least 100k a week - which other club do think will offer him that ?
  15. Feels like it could be a decisive night. No issue with West Hams tactics, we've done it enough times. We had the chances , 38 to be frank and talking of Frank he really should've buried that at the end. Lose on Monday and we are 6 points behind City and I suspect that will be the title over as I really can't seem them letting us make that up. So basically we have to be the first team to go up there in the league and get something.
  16. If youre a musician then its well worth spending money on top quality stuff id say, just to hear the finer details, especially as you're looking out for it more. If Bose work for you then go for it! Im just not sure of its worth whacking out £250 quid on headphones for general day to day use though. The E10s are budget price but sound good. Im sure an audiophile expert/bore would pick them to pieces, but its all about VFM. In terms of modern days headphones, you really dont often get what you pay for.
  17. I would argue that Bose is also overpriced when you compare the alternatives, which to your reasoning would mean they are crap too! They are clearly not crap though, and neither are Beats, just overpriced for what they are. I had some Bose headphones - the MIE2i, cost me around £130 sometme back. They were well built but the sound was underwhelming, far prefer the aforementioned Soundmagic E10s, which cost nearly £100 less, both in terms of sound and value. Its a minefield really, all depends on what you want. So many options out there, some , as im sure we can agree on are just stupidly overpriced, and im not just talking Beats either.
  18. Beats arent crap. far from it. I think its only fair to say that. The sound youll get from Beats is very good. The issue with Beats is not the sound, or the build, it is of course the price. There is utterly no doubt you can get an equally good pair of headphones to Beats for half the price, and thats the issue. They are hideously overpriced for what they are I have no sympathy for anyone who is suckered into buying them. For budget (under £100) in ear headphones, im still yet to find anything that matches the Soundmagic range, the E10s you can now pick up for under £40 and they pretty much match any in ear noise isolating earphones up to the £200 price range, though more fool anyone who spends that amount on headphones for day to day use anyway! edit - sorry just realised the op was talking about over ear headphones!
  19. To be honest he just could've said...
  20. bjd replied to Star's topic in Chelsea FC Rumours
Wasn't actually aimed as a pop at you mate, apologies if if felt that way - I just used it as what I thought was a good example to highlight his failings.
  21. bjd replied to Star's topic in Chelsea FC Rumours
Yep. There is simply no hiding from this fact. Anyone who tries to argue it are in utter denial, but amazingly there still seems to be people that regularly make excuses for the 50 million man. Suggesting his high point and performance was a hat trick against QPR in a home 6-1 victory pretty much reinforces the point! 50 million. Just typing that makes me wince.
  22. Spot on mate I swear some people spend more time on redcafe and rawk than they do on here, almost to the point of obsession, particularly with Liverpool. I guess there's a lot of it around in modern football, seems the norm to focus on rivals and take great pleasure in their faults and issues as much as supporting you're own team - I find it so dull, and bordering on pathetic actually. I just don't get it. Guess that's my problem...
  23. Good post mate, So good to read this type of thing after some of the spoilt, nonsensical, over the top hysterics these past few days, a fair bit of it on this website too. Theres also a really good post on Chelsea/Jose/Mata on the Plains Of Almeria website by Joe Tweeds (@joetweeds) with similar sentiments. Not going to post a link to a different/rival website but its well worth a read too.
  24. Thats a shocking hatchet job by Ballague. Quite a thing to say that it was an orchestrated plan by JM to ostracise him to the point of Mata asking for a transfer. Could it not simply be that the player could not adapt to the managers needs, or does that not fit in with Ballagues narrative ?
  25. looking at the tweets it seems so,a few people confirming its real. but you never can tell, so many twats out there these days. would an ex footballer in their 50s get verified anyway ? we are hardly talking Bieber here....
