I agree that Oasis have only made 2 worthwhile albums and that that cannot be considered an 'outstanding contribution' but they were in their pomp massive and hugely influential and paved the way for a lot of todays guitar bands (however pap many of them are), but they defintley made a difference and one that is worthy of some recognition. Dont get me wrong i am not sticking up for them i am just trying to see it from the organisers side as to why they were chosen. After all they follow other great winners such as Eurythmics and Duran Duran!

Ive havent really got a problem with Oasis winning what they did, like it or lump it for two albums they really had something and meant a lot to a lot of people (however much of a dull greatest hits touring package they have turned into these days) But, please, please dont get me started on Muse....

Sorry if I read this wrong bjd,as you are a man in the know. Do you mean the more Replica shirts,the better the support? Cos I hven't brought a replica shirt since the Yellow and Blue (2000-02) Shirt,and I never wear it. I dont think many of our MH Stand & away support wear any colours. Cheers Rob I basically meant that i think a lot of people (ie SKY) consistently claim Newcastle have the best fans in the land but yet pretty much base this assumption on the fact that they wear more replica shirts than other fans and that they sing louder. Which of course is rubbish. Sorry if it didnt come across clearly. I never buy replica shirts, but have a 1970 vintage thing.
