  1. It doesnt matter really. Beating both in a Cup Final would be sweet as a a nut, however losing to them either would be awful. But thinking about it, I hate the smug self important Gooners as much as anyone but losing to Sperz in a Cup Final would be terrible. Utterley unbearable. Ive only just recovered from November. For that thought alone, however unlikely it would be that they would beat us as Gem says I think i would prefer Arsenal. Not that it matters, our name is on this Cup I tell thee.
  2. Monaco (Away) April 2004. Next.
  3. I didnt realise it was the away fans he was responding too!! Top class 8)
  4. It would have been great to see Shev get a hat-trick (lets face it he could have had one after 15 mins) but lets not read too much into this, Jose is the boss and does what he thinks is right. He wanted to bring Kalou on and Shev was the man to come off, simple as, hat-trick or no hat-trick, standing ovation or no standing ovation. I think Jose was right not to make a deal out of it because he got the performance he wanted from Shevchenko, no more no less. That was the the level he has been asking Shev to play at and that was the level he knew Shev could play at but quite cleary hasnt been. I think Jose was right to do what he did, he is the boss and there is no room for sentiment. If we'd have got a penatly in the 2nd half i wouldnt be surprised if he'd have ordered Frank to take it. And anyway, there is room for one superstar and one superstar only at Stamford Bridge!!! - did anyone else see him waving and orchestrating the crowd
  5. At this moment Id take Huth over Boulha, credit where credit is due his performance at SB against Ronaldinho is THE performance of the season by a Chelsea player so far, however since then its all been downhill culminating int he hapless performance at the JBB where he bought new meaning to the word liabillity. Also, every time he plays you fear he is a sending off waiting to happen.
  6. Not unless youre an untouchable. It'll be Ballack. But it shouldnt be. I like what you did there.
  7. Thought so, well thats me fine then - but have they havent actually confirmed it yet have they ?
  8. Im going to make my way down to SB to queue for mine, i just cant put my faith in the lottery of the online sales. I HAVE to go to this match as I am in the same situation as Mick should we get to the FA Cup Final, being on holiday (he says not meaning to tempt fate) Mick, how do you know how many loyaty points you need ?
  9. Yeah, Sheva looked bored rigid last night didnt he. Yeah enjoy your big day matey. Bless. Ive never forgot how Forest fans were the first fans to opening mock and sing about Matthew Harding by the way.
  10. I laughed when Capt Birdseye went up there. I was annoyed when Wisey went there. I dont give two sh*ts about Poyet the scumbag being there I understood when Flo picked himself a last payday with some old muckers. But not Super Dan, please not Super Dan. Luckily Ive just read the article and its just a friendly match.
  11. I cant see Sperz beating Arse over two legs so I think we will have to contend with the Guardian reading sandal wearers on the trains!
  12. I just cant imagine Ruudy saying the word 'punter'!
  13. watching the youtube video of the motd highlights does anyone else think that Hunts goal celebration was in very bad taste ?
  14. Nothing do do with Ickle Stevies complete lack of postional sense and discipline and his penchant for delivering 80 yard Hollywood balls to f**king nobody over on the far touchline. Basically the bloke hasnt had a decent game for England since Munich but because he plays for the medias darlings gets away with it whereas Frank who plays for the medias hatred who have stopped the big red three from having the trophy monoply takes up the mantle of satisfying this countries unquenchable thirst for a scapegoat.

Agreed but id like to see some passion from him. I expect more from Ballack than what im seeing. (I also really hate that smirk he has when things dont go his way.) We needed leaders out there on Saturday and our two big name midfielders didnt step up. I said it on Saturday and i will say it again now, Frank aint a captain, give the armband to Drogba. Also yet again i feel i have to defend Paulo. Judging him at the moment is dead harsh its like having a pop at a leccy for mucking up your plumbing. He is the best right back at the club by miles and i hope and pray that he gets an extended run there when everyone is back fit again - and Id choose him over Johnno any day, particulary as events of the past week show that Johnno still has a lot to learn. If we had everyone fit again and i had to pick an XI to win a one off game my team would be: Cech Bridge Paulo JT Riccy Maka Essien Lamps Joey Robben Drogba Id be amazed if any other Chelsea fan chose different (maybe apart from my choice of RB, see my Paulo defence above) Basically our squad isnt as good as it was this time last year. Again i would be staggered if any Chelsea fan would pick Shev, Ballack and Kalou over Duff, Crespo and Guddy,
  16. No you didnt. You spent 90 mins smacking the ball up to Crouch knowing that we had 3 defenders out of postition and not one defender over 6 foot. You had every right to do this by the way, and yes, you did it well. However considering how bad we were, considering how many players we had missing and how many players we had out of form do you not agree that if we had got one back in the 2nd half (which we never looked liked doing) it couldve got interesting.. Congrats on the win though, on the day without question the better side won. I hope your boys show the same attitude when the mancs come to town.

he has signed for west ham
  18. Best Chelsea V Stuttgart. Stockholm 1998 - ECWC Final 1997 - obvious reasons Chelsea V Middlesboro, Wembley - FA Cup Final - ditto. i doubt i will ever feel like i did again after 43 seconds of that match Arsenal V Chelsea, Highbury - Div 1 1984 - the day it all started for me Liverpool V Crystal Palace - Villa Park FA Cup Semi Final 1990 - i was lucky to be there that day (my dad is a Palace fan) what a game. what a f**king game. Worst Oxford V Chelsea, Manor Ground 1988, Div 1 - i was there. we knew we were in big trouble that day. and so it proved. Chelsea V Man Utd, Wembley 1994, FA Cup Final - The only time tears have trickled down my face at a match. how long had we waited ? Cheers Ellerray. I still maintain if that shot had gone it... Also for the record can i just say i completley agree with this statment from just... I get asked so many times 'what are you going to do when roman leaves and leaves you in the sh*t?' . and i do the same thing every time - shrug my shoulders and say 'nothing'. You see these people are missing the point of going to football. I will still be at Chelsea whatever happens. Whether its in the Ryman League it doesnt matter to me. As long as i meet my cousin at marylebone and then drink our way to fulham broadway or whether i meet some of you lot in the Peli, i will still be there. As long as i still get that magic pre match pub feeling and as long as i still get that shiver when i first enter the ground and look around i dont care who we play or where we are, i will still be there. its not all bout the football you know. and its certainly not ll about the result - though that sometimes depends on how the rest of the night goes!
  19. 4 posts about Faith No More and not a mention of The Real Thing If your talking Faith No More youve got to be talking about 'The Real Thing' , - one of the greatest rock albums ever made and by far and away their best work
  20. Spot on. I hate Liverpool as much as the next person but 0:2 flattered us today.
  21. Yep. Lamps isnt a captain. He was also awful today. I say give the armband to Drogba.
  22. Awful, simply awful. It couldve easily been 5. Whilst i can understand our problems defensivley there is simply no excuse for our attacking play. Pluses ? Cech. Mikel (sort of), thats about it. Drogba was ok and looked like he cared. Saying that the lack of fight from some players was sickening. I cannot bring myself to type any more. Im off down the pub. The truth to all this has to be at the bottom of the glass.
  23. Glory i dont doubt he is a proper Chelsea boy and we all loved him for that. I just dont think he would be banging the goals in like you described. Yes he did score a few goals for us but lets face it , Carltons career at this point can simply be described as not living up to the initial promise. We all wanted him to be great, but i think deep down we all knew Jose was doing the right thing in letting him go. Sadly another in a long line of Chelsea youngsters who never quite hit the peak we all hoped they would.
