  1. With our home record being as good as it is (in Europe and the league) any team will struggle to beat us over 2 legs with the home leg being the second match. They will have to beat us like Liverpool did, with luck or bad refereeing.
  2. Liverfool have got to play Arsoles 3 times in 7 days
  3. after Barnsley nothing is certain Straight back down to earth, cheers Lauren
  4. Or could of been Barca and Manure, even worse imo.

  11. Luck surely - I saw a wind pocket suck the ball over the line
  12. Was a penalty, and Lampard did well to stop it looking like a dive in the end.
  13. UEFA Country Ranking The basis for the UEFA rankings is the performance of teams in the European Cups during a five year period. During that period each team gets two points for a win and one point for a draw. From 1999 on these points are halved for qualification matches: one point for a win and half a point for a draw. One bonus point is allocated for reaching the quarter final, the semi final and the final. Reaching the group stage of the Champions League yields three bonus points (before 1996: 2 points, from 1996-2004: 1 point). As of the 2004/05 season teams qualifying for the first knock-out round of the Champions League will be awarded with an extra bonus point. The so-called UEFA coefficients are calculated by taking an average, based on the total number of points divided by the total number of teams of each country. See the country coefficients of 2007 for an example of such a calculation. The UEFA country ranking is computed by the sum of 5 coefficients in the last 5 years. See the country ranking of 2007 for an example of such a ranking list. To determine the participants in the Champions League and the UEFA Cup the last year ranking is used, because each country should know at the start of the season how many places it disposes. UEFA Team Ranking The UEFA team coefficients are calculated as the sum of the number of points of each individual team, and 33% of the country coefficient. Before 2004 the contribution of the country coefficient was 50%. See the team coefficients of 2007 for an example of such a calculation. For the calculation of the individual points of the team coefficients games played in qualifying rounds are not taken into account. The UEFA team ranking is computed by the sum of 5 coefficients in the last 5 years. See the team ranking of 2007 for an example of such a ranking list. In this list the yellow lines with country information indicate the lowest possible value for a team of that country (even if that team didn't play any game in the last five years). The most recent team ranking is used for seeding of clubs for draws in the Champions League and the UEFA Cup. Details of the calculation of the UEFA Coeffcients Definition of terms. cteams = number of teams per country, tpoints = number of points per team, (excluding qualifying rounds) tmatches = number of matches per team, and cpoints = sum(tpoints) per country. (including 50% of qualifying rounds) ccoef = country coefficient per year, crank = country ranking over 5 years, tcoef = team coefficient per year, and trank = team ranking over 5 years. 1. Country Coefficients and Country Ranking ccoef = rounddown(cpoints/cteams, 3) crank = sum(ccoef); 2. Team Coefficients and Team Ranking from 2004: tcoef = 0.5 * rounddown( 0.33 * (2*cpoints/cteams), 3) + tpoints trank = rounddown(sum(tcoef) , 3) from 1999 until 2003: tcoef = 0.5 * rounddown( 0.50 * (2*cpoints/cteams), 3) + tpoints trank = rounddown(sum(tcoef) , 3) until 1998: tcoef = rounddown(tpoints/tmatches, 3) trank = sum(tcoef) where sum = sum over 5 years, and rounddown(..., 3) = truncation to 3 significant digits after the decimal point. You did ask mate !
  14. Imagine a final in Moscow between Chelsea (Russian owner) v Manure (American owner). Wonder who'd have the best seat ?
  15. Now when we sing........... "Super Chelsea,Super Chelsea F.C" "Were by far the greatest team, the World has ever seen" "And it's....." You really mean it !
  16. I know the players shouldnt need any incentive to go and win the CL, but just in case they do, heres another (to add to the Aston Martins Roman will be buying them all). If we do, we will almost certainly be THE #1 ranked UEFA club. Thanks Jose ! UEFA Team Ranking 2008
  17. All 4 in the last 8 again Rule Britannia !
  18. Sick, but i like it ! But surely you would rather we won the CL AND beat them squealing scousers ?
  19. Inter's starting XI was 100% international with NO Italian players taking to the field.
  20. I'm sorry but that just isnt true any more, certainly not for ALL the premiership clubs.
  21. I really hate the way people devalue the FA Cup. It is the highlight of the football calendar for many. It is the oldest and most unique Cup Competition in the world and should be cherished and valued as such. The qualifying rounds start in September and finish in May what other cup competition runs that long. It was THE export of the English game for many years watched by a world wide audience. How many generations of foreign footballers/fans grew up watching the Final? You ask any Chelsea fan who has attended a final with Chelsea playing and I bet they all got a lump in there throat when Abide With Me is sung? It is a very very special day for Football fans in this country. You ask Kitson at Reading how he feels about the FA cup now bet he would bite your hand off to still be in the competition. You ask a Reading fan would they prefer to be sat in mid table doing jack for years or have a decent cup run and a relegation scrap ? I would hate it if we used it for the reserves . You are just saying that the Premiership and European football are more important. They might be to the money men football fans are a different, better class and breed . We will still be here when they are f*****g up some other cash cow and milking it for all it is worth. Really really hate your idea Were Chelsea, not Reading, our aspirations are on a totally different scale to Readings. So you would like to see our first team turn out in all the domestic cup competetions ? No matter how detrimental it would be towards our chances of success in Europe and the EP ? What about the injuries incurred to our first team players during these 'all important' cup games ? Weather you like it or not, ask the average fan at the start of the season, the FA cup comes third in nearly every fans list of trophies they want there club to win. 99.9% of fans would rather win the CL or EP before the FA cup. The new Wembley has breathed some extra life into the old girl, but as time goes by, the less important the FA cup becomes, to club and fans, especially the big 3 clubs (I dont include Liverpool, as they would love to win something/anything i'm sure). The romance of the FA cup is still there, as proven this weekend. But its nots romantic to the foreign players, no matter what they blurt out in some interview. If they FA cup had a first prize of £20million, do you think Chelsea, Manure, Ars and liver would ALL be out of the competition before the semi's ? Seriously ! Funny how the 4 big English teams all got through to the last 8 of the CL, but none made the FA semis. Shape of things to come if you ask me.
  22. Whos going to be selecting our £100M new signings ? Thats the real question.
