MATCH PREVIEW
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti twice won the Champions League during eight seasons with AC Milan but collected only one league title, a fact wryly acknowledged in his autobiography Preferisco La Coppa; the title is a pun that conveys his preference for cup competitions and a type of cured pork.
It is a unique experience to go to Stamford Bridge having the world of football watching - we have got nothing to lose
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez
The portly Italian may be a completely different character to Jose Mourinho, the man against whom all Blues bosses are judged, but he could be on the verge of something special with Chelsea.
Victory against Wigan would give the club a fourth top-flight crown and keep them on course for the first league and FA Cup Double in their history.
Roberto Martinez's men ended Arsenal's title challenge three weeks ago but have little to play for except professional pride. A win would also prevent the Latics from ending the campaign with their lowest points tally since promotion to the Premier League.
The omens are against Wigan securing a first league double over Chelsea. They have lost their last seven top-flight matches in London, including a 9-1 hammering at Tottenham and 4-0 thrashing from Arsenal earlier this season.
Vladimir Stojkovic may be Serbia's number one goalkeeper, but he has yet to convince since joining Wigan, conceding 12 goals in six appearances. A trip to Stamford Bridge, where the Blues have plundered 19 goals in their last four games, hardly looks the ideal confidence booster, especially with Didier Drogba eyeing the Premier League golden boot.
