Wolverhampton Wanderer v Chelsea (PL) 05/01/2011 19:45 GMT
So you think that the management and the playes wouldn't have realised that the performance wasn't great had they have won? I'm pretty sure they would have as it was quite obvious, so for me it's a no brainer that a win would have been better. Two points more and some much wanted increase in confidence to boost the team.

No new players?
This would actually mean an increase in the wages, as if I recall correctly last season the wages were around 140m. This would also mean bigger losses as in 2009 the losses were 44m including a 12m compensation to big fail and his backroom team. Adding the fact that the financial report for 2010 is not even out yet this seems to be massive speculation... The main figures will be on the OS by the end of the week probably (it was released on dec 30 last year) so we will know more in a couple of days.

Nathan Ake
I hope it won't be only his looks that'll remind me of Gullit.

Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals
What I saw was a team that struggled for top6 to qualify for EL, and then threw away the EL matches to concentrate on the PL in order to qualify for next year's EL... All this with one quite boring tactic which O'neill couldn't change when needed. He wasn't too bright on the transfer market as well, average at best. I still can't believe Kenyon got 5 millions for Sidwell who has been an absolute failure in Villa Park. One of my friends supports Villa, so I heard an awful lot of complaining about O'neill. I can go on with this for pages I just have to open up the archived conversations and copy+paste :) Of course they can get worse than him, but I think they can get a better manager as well. Though I'm not sure that would be Houllier. Not convincing so far, but he has already won domestic cups in England which i believe is exactly what Villa needs to step forward.

They lost 5-0 there a few seasons back... And then there was the 7-1 trashing by us. That team could fall apart with O'neill as well, if his one dimensional tactic did not work.

from Hungary
Don't worry, it's not an easy task. Actually only about 10% of the hungarian people can write totally correctly in Hungarian. Your spelling is spot on, I bet that some high-school teachers here have seen worse from their students...

Droggers
So when you go out on nice warm summer evenings in Germany the first thing that comes to your mind is that you should dress up properply to make sure you do not catch malaria? To contract malaria in Europe is incredibly bad luck and definitely not down to Drogba not looking after himself. It's almost like getting your leg bitten by a tiger. In Africa. Hmm, thinking of this, I can imagine Whinger dressed up as a giant mosquito... This could be a great remake of that scene :)

Zhirkov - Zenit bid
I assume by the Lake you mean Balaton. It's quite possible that around there German is still holding on to the title of the most speaken foreign language as the tourists are still mostly German. Yes I am, I live in Budapest. Should you come on a matchday you're welcome to watch it with our local supporers club.

Zhirkov - Zenit bid
some decades back, yeah. not since the '90s. by now most of the kids learn english and even looking at the full population, more people speak english than german. if someone tries german then 9 times out of then he will be above 40.

Zhirkov - Zenit bid
most eastern european countries have at least one foreign language as part of the compulsory schooling plan (this probably has a proper name in english, but i have no idea what it is). as far as i know there are some choices but for the vast majority this is english, at least since 1990. in hungary (which is geographically not the best example as it is in central europe :)) at least one foreign language is a must for high-school graduation.

Good Article on Mikel John Obi
As others pointed out his family name is Obi. But more importantly, it's not only same Asians who put the family name first. You don't even have to leave Europe to find an example...

Ramires learning his trade..........but its tough
let's see some stats then. passes tackles interceptions ramires (34/25) (10/5) 3 essien (56/53) (7/5) 2 mikel (51/47) (5/4) 7 (all/successful) the numbers agree that ramires was the weak link in midfield. it would be more interesting however to make a comparison to essien's first season. he didn't exactly convince everyone then, it took him some time to adjust. i doubt we will see the best of ramires this season, he needs much more PL experience to blossom, just like essien did.

Man City v Chelsea (PL) 25/09/10 KO 12:45 BST
Barry is more likely to play there, he did fill in as LB in the past for Villa too.
