Peckham Blue Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Twenty years old now and what a great series it was.
bjd Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Just a bit. Huge fan of everything Lynch but this is something else, a different world. Weird, powerful and at times , disturbing. It's influence is still being felt today - all these big 'event' tv shows all owe something to TP. It all started here. A masterpiece, I must get the 'Gold' DVD box soon. 'Diane....'
The Brit Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 it's being repeated at the moment on the horror channel on sky...the music gets me every time...so sinister, then so mournful, then dark again...really backs up the plot
andy Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I confess to have never seen it. I have always intended to catch up at some point but now I am worried I have left it too late in terms of has it dated well ? Is it still worth investing the time ? Cheers
Tim W Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Saw a Lynch art exhibition in Copenhagen a couple of weeks ago, now there is one weird f**ker
dkw Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Brilliant programme, no idea what the hell was happening or what it was about but loved it.
Eggy McMuffin Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 great series.. very addicting.. Part of me just died.
The Brit Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I have always had a massive thing for Sherilyn Fenn and she is so hot in this series...the episode shown over the weekend had her do that trick with the cherry stalk and get a job at one eyed jacks...'yeah baby yeah'
moi Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) Part of me just died. Are you squaring up to give Maks and me serious competition in the resident pedant contest? :spin: Edited November 23, 2010 by moi
undertow Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 anyone who liked twin peaks should check this out: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108906/ absolutely fantastic horror/mystery show from lars von trier.
mad_mac Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Set in the area I now live in. Never seen too much of them, but I think Lynch is from Montana, and their winters are like the ones we go through, so I can see howit may lead some people to be "Creative." I've also heard that a bar in teh series is based on a bar I drink at in town. However, whether that is true or one of those "my mate dates a bird that knows that guy who...." type of stories, who knows?

mad_mac Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Which bar is it Scott? i suspect i will know if filming was done there. Still planning a trip to The Salish Lodge and Snoqualmie by the way... The bar in Spokane is called the "Swamp." I'm not sure what it was in the tv show. Basically, i have heard that a bar, or the bar, in the show was based on it. If you ever do head that way, let me know. Lovely place (i've shown you the pictures of the falls before), and there is Snoqualmie brewery close by, which is good for a pint - despite it's start furniture and industrial type decor Do you know the log lady? Maybe, but my wife's here right now so I'm saying nothing! Oh wait, in twin peaks.... don't think so
