  1. Looks like White Hart F***ing Lane to me from the inside.
  2. Why has Moses signed a new deal? Doesn’t he realise that he has no chance of making it and that he’ll just get loaned all over England for the next 4 years?
  3. With Okore as a backup too. Pretty decent if you ask me for the level they are at.
  4. I think the board were so sure that they would get Stones that they didn't really bother with a Plan B. This move screams of 'stopgap' solution to me, we'll have another crack at Everton
  5. Wtf is going on at the moment?
  6. Rumours that De Gea is inching closer to his Real Madrid move.
  7. This guy is the definition of a stopgap signing. Apparently he can play DM too so clearly a temporary move until we make another onslaught at Everton and/or Juventus for Stones and Pogba, respectively. Given who this guy's been linked with and the fact that he's only played for Senegal twice at the age of 26, let's just hope we don't see too much of him this season.
  8. Yeah I know he does Euro Aways still. Spotted him in the crowd at Maribor last year alongside his brother. Does he still run that bar out there?
  9. Completely agree, I feel for the guy to be honest. First Liverpool, then Stoke, now West Ham. And to think he was our best player in pre season. He probably can't wait for his contract to expire.
  10. United haven't improved much at all from last season IMO. They desperately need a striker, a proper replacement for De Gea and a commanding CB to pair with Smalling. I think Schneiderlin will be a great signing, Schweinsteiger is more of a stopgap whilst Depay will be very hit and miss this season. I know the season is only 4 games old but I really can't see beyond City. They have the best squad by far, arguably the best first XI, and most importantly they look the hungriest. I thought it would be a close title race this season, and of course it still could be, things can change very quickly in this league. But City are a formidable force at the moment, and I have to say it looks rather ominous. Can't quite believe I'm saying that already, it's not even September! To think I predicted City would be fighting for the top 4 this year...
  11. Yep, just saw this on Twitter. Could be an excellent move for all concerned.
  12. Is he still in the Philippines? I sit next to his brother from time to time.
  13. Feel quite despondent after yesterday. The chances of us retaining the title are very slim indeed now. The only positives from the game were Kenedy's and RLC's cameos, coupled with an excellent first goal for Falcao. So many underwhelming performances in the team yesterday that I don't really know where to start. Ivanovic has got to be dropped, along with Fabregas, who continues to be utter dross defensively. If he's not providing assists and creativity then there's point him being in the team. Hazard has to wake up too. I'm a total loss as to how we've regressed so much since last year. What on earth has happened? I almost get the sense that something has occurred behind the scenes. It's a shame that there's the international break now for us fans but perhaps it could be a good thing for the players. Everton away will be very tough indeed and we need a marked improvement or we'll get stuffed.
  14. Interesting to see how they fit De Bruyne in that team. I presume Sterling switches to the right and De Bruyne comes in on the left, with Navas dropped. But then Navas seems to be a favourite of Pellegrini's. Silva of course is irreplaceable. I wonder if De Bruyne might be better off waiting til next Summer when Bayern will probably come calling - Robben and Ribery are both getting quite old now, and the latter seems to be injured all the time too.
  15. Agreed completely. Bluedylan was great value, I thought. Maybe some of the other Evertonians weren't.
  16. Everton are short of centre backs and defenders on a general level too with Baines injured for the next few months. With so little time left in the window, selling Stones only creates more short term problems than it solves. As much as I'd like Stones, I can't fault their stance at all here. If they force him to stay, they know that he'll re-focus after the window given that the Euros are coming up. After that, there will be more clubs going for him (provided he has a good season) and then the price goes up even more. Perfectly justifiable rationale, albeit frustrating as a Chelsea fan.
  17. A journalist from the Guardian on Twitter: Roberto Martinez has said that Everton will reject Stones' transfer request tomorrow morning. The reason for the silence thus far was because of the preparations for the Barnsley game.
  18. ^If memory serves they were desperate for another striker and he was about as good as there was on the market at the time.
  19. Exactly. And bear in mind that Zouma might be used as a DM if we're in full bus-parking mode later on this season.
  20. The transfer request is obviously good news for us but I don't think it changes that much in terms of Everton's own position. They may still decide not to do business. Remember two seasons ago when Suarez put in a transfer request? Liverpool rejected it and despite Arsenal's best efforts (£40m + £1) he ended up staying, and they then sold him for £70m to Barca the next season. Mark my words, Kenwright and co. will exploring similar hypotheses such as this. They know that Stones isn't going to f*ck about if he doesn't get his move with the Euro's coming up next Summer.
  21. Don't see the point in signing this guy at all. He's 28 so not exactly one for the future, and he's slow too. Seems to be one of those that had a lot of hype around him a few years back but clearly hasn't lived up to it seeing as he's in Russia. If we don't get Stones then I'm happy to go with JT, Cahill, Zouma and Ivanovic as an emergency for this season and have another crack at Everton next summer. We don't need a stopgap signing. What we need is a long term successor for JT to pair with Zouma.
  22. The Times are reporting that Stones is weighing up whether to put in a transfer request. Even if he does, I don't think it would make any difference. Unfortunately I'm starting to think that Everton will actually hold out.
  23. Watch him burn whatever bridges he has left in Milan then end up in Russia next season. His 'career' will continue on a downward spiral for another 2 years until he is out of Football altogether.
  24. So glad we don't have Ozil in our team, the definition of a luxury player. When Arsenal are already winning he'll find his groove and inevitably get an assist or two, but when the chips are down he's always the first player to disappear. Honestly can't think of ever seeing him score or do anything of any real note when Arsenal really need someone to lift them. Apparently Rodgers just said that the decision on Ramsey was correct because his shirt was offside. He doesn't help himself does he!
