The Rafa Benitez Thread (merged)
I dont believe this, two pints down , still irritated , furious at the events, unwilling to defend the club, frustrated at this bullsh*t policy, sad for dimatteo, depressed with the new manager, impatient for the protest, afraid of watching more spanish bteamers in the club, missing carlo, cursing the gloryhunter bandwagon of chelsea, blaming roman, embarrased of the sacking, murderous towards fernancy blonde tutu torres, jealous of arsenal management, waiting , gulping , sipping, rampling, typing, its gonna be a f**king long night, hell hath no wrath like a fan drunk. Make me the manager, i know tactics, i know how to play, how to sack teh blonde, how to boss roman around, how to buy refs and beat united, park the bus and f**k barca, play the diamond while smokin a cigar, still geat points at brum away and save my job, shag eva and luiz in a threesome, make ramires go the gym, mikel to run, sturridge f**ker to pass, make chelsea like arsenal in management and united in luck and barca in style and pool in history, f**k all plastics and make me godamn manager

Chelsea v Man United (CL) 06/04/11 KO 19:45 BST
The goal had to come from our right. It did. I will just say it , Torres was sh*t yesterday. He has been stranded in many fixtures and showed sparks. But yesterday he had a good 4-5 chances. If the ball keeps on hitting the wrong spot on your shoe or the wrong curve on your head, you cannot keep on blaming the rest of the guys around. Its a big game. And you are supposed to convert the half chances. Not keep on fluffing the relatively easier ones. Drogba was one of our better players. Still many of us have maintained why a 4-4-2 with 2 strikers playing high and not dropping back is unlikely to work against quality sides. A blind bat can see that. Why not Carlo. Bosingwa being taken out was a good choice. But we should have maintained Essien upfront centrally. Once he drifted to the right flank he had only scarce touches on the ball, and was effectively rendered out of the game. Mikel as usual showed a few sparks. Was too late to make an impact. Same goes with Nico.

Time for AFC Chelsea?
The whole idea behind an AFC 'should' be to form a Chelsea B, with cheaper access to games , Maintain the ambience that traditionally smaller clubs have, and that irreversibly evaporates with expansion or success. Should have popped up when something was really wrong with our crowd at at the Bridge. I am not in favour of this. At this juncture it is a knee-jerk in my opinion.

Time for AFC Chelsea?
I am not sure if it has anything to with our recent form...

FC Copenhagen v Chelsea (CL) 22/2/11 KO 19:45 GMT
Start Torres, Nicolas ,And Didier together. The best shot we have at UCL, is when these three start delivering together upfront. The sooner the better.

Tottenham v Chelsea (PL) 12/12/2010 KO 16:00 GMT
The one thing thats keeping me optimistic is Palacios and Modric in Central midfield. We should be able to dominate there. Its intriguing to see how Ashley is going to play this one. Probably Lennon would stick himself high up the pitch and keep him from marauding the left. If Hutton stays deep most of the time, it will be really difficult for us to dominate that side of the pitch. Thats where a Lampard will make hell of a difference if he plays in this game . A lot of space will open up in the centre of the pitch. Whoever plays the Left Central role will have tremendous oppurtunity bombing ahead. If Lampard does not start this one, we will have to do with Malouda/Ramires obviously. Both can be good in this role. Had Bosingwa started this one , the tactics would have tilted in our favour. But since its Ferreira starting, We will need to double up against him. Maybe Essien would be asked to that , and then all our midfield advantage goes annulled. if I were Carlo, I would play Kalou and ask him to stick his butt deep with Gareth Bale, whenever out of possession. Paulo-Mikel-Ashley to stay as guards against Counters when we are attacking corner kicks. Some way, this one is not going down to the personnel on the pitch itself. A bit of Italian innovation, and we can nick it. Please do not disappoint Carlo. Dont just field your regular system , and pray for a Lampard/Drogba miracle. We are past it.

Chelsea vs Spartak Moscow (CL) 3/11/2010 1945 KO
Cech Ferreira Terry Alex Ashley , Mikel , Zhirkov , Ramires/Josh , Kalou , Drogba, Sturridge. A decent lineup to kick some Russian balls. Tuck Essien and Nico away in their beds. Let them sleep off the night.

Chelsea vs Spartak Moscow (CL) 3/11/2010 1945 KO
>Start with Alex and Jt. They should get a decent outing to be back in their best sync together. >Rest Essien from the midfield. There will be plenty on his shoulders vs Liverpool. Especially the task of putting Gerrard out of the equation is by no means easy, and by all means, critical. >Give Malouda , Anelka a break upfront. Kalou and the Drog are adequate replacements. Sturridge can play the third. Its our home. And the lads need to be shown some faith. More importantly, the ones that have been proving themselves. If Sturridge/Kalou cannot be assured of starting under these circumstances, wonder how their faith towards the team and the coach will last. Liverpool at Anfield is not going to be a cakewalk. In my view it looks 50-50. We have been less than convincing in the past few games. And Pool have been a bit slow, but gradual upside. They do not have any new injury concerns apart from Joe Cole, which actually is a blessing in disguise. A big game like this can add the spice for a team to show their true bum.

Spartak Moscow v Chelsea (CL) 19/10/2010 KO 17:30 BST
Rather take a call here than in the PL. We have plenty of games here , a loss will make sh*t of a difference. But the league, should not be risked, with city on our trail. And I still feel we are up for a treble. Its just a minor hiccup.

Spartak Moscow v Chelsea (CL) 19/10/2010 KO 17:30 BST
Sometimes you need to take a tough call. A trip to Russia is not exactly what we want right now. With chilling temparatures, the effect on your body for every tackle, every fall has gets compounded. Its good that Essien is being rested. Would definitely not mind Terry,Anelka, out of this either. Start with Yuri and the lads.

Aston Villa v Chelsea (PL) 16/10/10 KO 17:30 BST
Add to it we have Malouda/Ashley taking on Luke Young. Albrighton has been notorious for sticking his bum in one half of the pitch. We will own them. Ferriera will pretty much contain Downing....

Aston Villa v Chelsea (PL) 16/10/10 KO 17:30 BST
There is nothing to worry about this game. Bruma is up for the game . A CB pairing of Bruma/Ivanovic is capable of handling Villa. Heskey, in his rediscovered form, is thankfully out. We can handle Agbonlahor's return. He has been out of the pitch for long. Bottom line, even if Terry does not make it, we can handle them easily.

Aston Villa v Chelsea (PL) 16/10/10 KO 17:30 BST
Yeah , exactly what I said. But no point dreaming. Lampard will be up for it. Or even if Lampard isnt fit Malouda will drop in the centre and Kakuta will play ahead. He has been higher in Carlo's pick-list.

Yossi out for months
Chelsea missed my torn achilles injury, says puzzled Yossi Benayoun By Matt Barlow Yossi Benayoun last night revealed how Chelsea missed the badly torn achilles tendon which has wrecked his first season at Stamford Bridge. Benayoun travels to Finland this weekend for an operation on Monday which will rule him out for up to six months after the full extent of his injury was diagnosed by Israel’s team doctor in Tel Aviv last week. ‘The truth is that this entire situation is very strange,’ said Benayoun, 30. ‘Chelsea were sure it was something small. They have compared all the images and they do not understand how they missed it. I had three MRIs and three ultrasounds and they all said there was no problem, and it was just a small tear. I came to Israel ready to play and they told me it was a big tear. They said it is unusual to have such a big tear and not be in terrible pain. Even now I am not in pain but I cannot take one step by myself until I undergo surgery.’ Benayoun, signed for £5.5millionfrom Liverpool in the summer, returned to London from Israel on Saturday and consulted a leading Swedish specialist, who confirmed the Israeli diagnosis. Chelsea confirmed yesterday that the midfielder is likely to miss six months, a week after the same news came out of Israel. Salomon Kalou and Alex will miss Saturday’s game at Aston Villa. John Terry is doubtful after back spasms forced him out of England’s qualifier. Jeffrey Bruma expects to train normally today after pulling out of Holland’s Under- 21 squad with tight hamstrings http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1320307/Chelsea-missed-torn-achilles-injury-says-puzzled-Yossi-Benayoun.html#ixzz12KCMCQxg

Brute Force ! Errm Petrov and ReoCoker in the midfield ? I think this is an ideal scenario for Josh to step in.

Aston Villa v Chelsea (PL) 16/10/10 KO 17:30 BST
You are already going on the backfoot, committing to play hold and counter against Villa. Then You are sacrificing you midfield to cover up the defence. Again you are removing your full-backs vs Villa who, have a potent flank with Downing,Albrighton and Young. On top of it this fomation would want Malouda and Ramires/Anelka to track back excessively. I dont even understand how this appears good on paper. It is unlikely to work out. Especially since it has never ever been tried with this set of players. All it would do is create confusion on the pitch. Better stick to the system we are used to, although with changed faces.

This is not Fifa 10. And btw, this formation will not even work there.
