Took it easy on them in the end - almost like we didn’t want to humiliate dear old Carlo on his return. How refreshing to relax with so long to go knowing points are safe - a rarity this season. Only been 135 mins (Liverpool and everton) but I’d already prefer Gilmour in the team over Jorginho. Passing is quicker, smarter and consistently finds a teammate. Also has pace to get back defensively. Can’t say Jorginho is blessed with any of these attributes.

If we could pick just one, who would it be? For me, as hard as the task is, it’s JT. We sorely miss his leadership on and off the pitch and his dominance at the back.

One of my biggest disappointments over how the season has gone is that in the first Three-four months, you could at least see a game-plan and exciting style which made the odd poor result easier to deal with - you felt we were going in the right direction. But for a long time now the football has been as sh*t as the results. Certainly don’t get the vibe the players are buzzing off Lampard’s presence as they were at the start. One wonders if like so many times in the past, some of them don’t believe is the man in charge.

So that’s only 19 points from the last 16 League games now. Thats 2015-16 form. The squad is weak, there have been injuries too, but Frank has to be doing better than that with these players. They’re not great, but they’re not that bad.

I'm no Willian fanboy, but I'm pretty sure everyone can agree he's done more than Barkley ever has so it isn't actually that wild a statement to say he should have started instead. This isn't me being wise after the event - I said it before kick-off to people around me at the ground. Just didn't post it here. And as I said when someone else challenged my view about Willian starting, surely everyone could see frank should have made the change at half-time?! Bayern are stronger regardless, but that was the case when we gave Barca a good game two years ago...man of the match that night? Willian.

All of us know the mitigating circumstances and I'm not turning against him, but that doesn't mean frank gets a free pass all season. Let's be honest, without his playing career with us, there would be mutiny on here by now regardless of transfer bans and hazard going. Our home form hasn't been this bad since the mid-80s. Last night the average age of the team was higher than Bayern's...this young team mantra has been a bit of a smokescreen all season for the amount of poor performances and results. Everyone needs to improve, the players, those buying new players and frank himself.

Ok. If some thought sticking with same team was right move to start with, fair enough, I don't agree but I understand it. but surely no-one at half-time thought Barkley should stay on and no changes be made? Bayern were obviously better regardless, but just think the coaching staff are too slow to react to what is happening in front of them. Arsenal was another example recently of reacting to a game getting away from them rather than trying to do something beforehand.
