We've unsettled their best player totally and the rest of them look pretty average, even if Modric does start playing at his best for them in a couple of months the way they are playing now there's no way they'll qualify for the Champions League. If he actually is willing to sell I'd say he's trying to force our hand into a last minute even more inflated panic buy. If we don't have a plan B then if we turn him down we are still missing what Modric would bring to the squad, if we pay ridiculous money other clubs will continue to expect us to pay over the odds in future.
