Never really done it for us when given the opportunity. Plus getting on and been out with a long injury. best to get rid and make way for McEachran.

As far as im aware nothing has been done yet, Modric is still a spurs player and Yossi is still a chelsea player!

When has he had the opportunity? He was injured all last season and in the handful of games he has had he's been excellent.

I agree with you Keiron, I would very much like Benayoun to stick around whether we sign another attacking mid or not. Top quality player and exactly the kind we need.

Exactly, start him 10 games in a row and he'd have 7 good matches i reckon..

i think people just want singings for the sake of it sometimes

id like modric here, but yossi and 30m which was gettin thrown around is riduclous..

yossi and modric wud never play in same chelsea team, and i jus think as a creative mid id rather have yossi there and 30m to spend on a right winger than modric

Keiron, what the hell do you think your doing... your actually bordering on somthing i have heard refered to as sensible logic... stop this immeadiatly and start getting invovled in hysterical transfer thirst.....

I like Yossi and would be happy for him stay as a squad player. He offers much more attacking intent IMO than a player like Kalou. However, I also think Modric is twice the player Benayoun is, or ever will be. Modric has that vital quality missing in many so called "top class" players..... consistency.

I have watched Modric completely run the midfield in EPL matches. I have never seen Yossi dominate a game like that at any of his numerous clubs.

to follow up, I have long thought that Josh and Yossi can rotate the role for the next season or so. Yossi is deffinatly good enough and so is josh.

For me we fuffiled are number one signing critearia in gettting Matta in Job done. Job 2 for me is concentrate on the development of Josh and Sturidge, both who are good enough to start, one more often then the other of course.

If we do land modric before the close couldnt really moan because he is with out a doubt quality but hopefully it's not at to high a cost. i.e 30 + sturridge or somthing crazy like that

Josh Mchreacran

in 2 years he will be more then ready to be playing 90 % of our frist team games and he's an absalout gem, when i see him gohst round people and ping that ball about i think Gazza and zidan (people will now call the men in white coats) He will fill the exct requirement you mention

Brining modric in will surly stunt that, yossi is at the right age to buffer him in

Benayoun is only good enough to be a squad player for us in my opinion...never good enuf to be starting week in week out

out of interest what is that opinion based on?

Posted

the opinion that hes never had chance so CANT be good enough.. makes me laugh i dont think hes started 3 consecutive games and people say hes not good enough

just like saying an unused sub is sh*t unless he scores haha!

If we get Modric, Josh can get lampards role, or Josh goes deep and Modric takes lamps role, either way its very good.Like City's lineup against spuds, Nasri (Mata),Dzeko (Torres),Aguero(Sturridge),Silva(Modric,Josh),Toure(Ramires),Barry(Josh,Modric) very hard call witch line up is better, both look very impressive and with +2-3 more years ours will look even more better.

Its based on he was good at liverpool and west ham but did you ever think yeh I'd love him to play for chelsea? Hed be nice to have in the squad alrite but defintely not as good as the midfielders we have already.Modric is on another planet to yossi.Lampard is far better when on form, josh will be far better and essien to come back in to the team is also much better.

Also to play yossi we would have to accomodate him he wouldt fit into our current formation it would have to be changed. We rely on one out and out defensive midfielder and 2 box to box players.yossi is neither of them.A 4-2-3-1 would suit him with him in behind torres but anelka and mata are better options in that role.

I would say at the peak of his powers Lampard is better but that peak is no some way gone and the kind of player he is and has been is showing up due to age and miles on the clock

Yossi is a completly different player who plays a lot closer tothe strikers but sees the pass a bit quicker then lamps. Im alos assuming you didnt actually watch any liverpool or spammers games when he was there because he was by some way the best player west ham had and he was liverpools second best player most of the time as well (sadly we have there best and its not quite happening)

If you have ramires and mikel you dont really need another box to box player and you want some one closer to the striker.

On Modric, I agree he is better but not 35 million better. And im thinking big picture, where the money could be better utalised and that we currently have enough in that position to get by with out modric.

I think most share the same view.. unfortunatley for whatever reason its not AVBs view so he must see something we dont

but given the choice of mikel lampard ramires in midfield or modric and two of the three mention id say modric is 1 million % essential

however if we played josh, yossi, ramires.. i wouldnt be upset about missing out on modric

it's just it seems no manager trusts that midfield trio

its always gonna be the safe lampard mikel options

by the way i do feel mikel vital against top 10 teams away and top 6 teams at home

I think Yossi and McEachran can both provide a lot of creativity to this team, and with Mata this line-up would be creative with either.

Ramires workrate and the seeming need for a DM mean that there's really only one place on the team for a midfielder and it's tremendously difficult to say whether resting our talismanic CFC legend will get us results.

How do you say to someone who always gives their all and has always given results that you won't be needed as much in future. It's a very delicate situation really.

Barak you know I have shared your sentiments on Sturridge for a longtime and was one of those, (along with Star and a few others), who argued he should've had Kalou's spot last season. However, I must confess I am not one of those who creams himself over Josh just yet. Yes, he has genuine ability, (his first touch and passing in particular), and fantastic potential, but I think the club are doing the right thing with him at the moment by progressing him slowly. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he went on loan this season and, in this case, I think that may be the right move. Also, from what I have watched, I don't view him in the Gazza mould at all. I haven't seen Josh pick up the ball and dribble past players ala' Gascoigne at his best.
