I voted no because Modric is signed to a long-term contract on low wages and Spurs are adamant they do not want to sell, knowing that Modric's departure will open the floodgates for those on shorter contracts i.e Assou-Ekotto, Bale and van der Vaart.

I voted no because I think once the dead line has passed Modric will have no choice but to just get on with it.

I voted no because i cant see them selling him this late in the window without replacements coming in. Maybe another bid in January will do the trick like Torres.

It's a no from me too. It's far too bitter and complicated now.

I think we will sign him ... arry will not want a to keep a player who has no interest in playing for him anymore and im sure spuds have been looking at replacements already

The signs are all there for it to happen:

- Modric has expressed a clear desire to join us, including asking not to play in a big game for his team

- Tottenham won't be good enough for him, either this season or the next

- Tottenham need the money

- We need a player like him

- We have money

I may be simplyfying things a tad, but in the end this is the reality all sides face. I think it will push the last minutes of the window, but I think it is bound to happen. My biggest fear is that we overpay for him. A deal that includes one of our ageing stars (or Kalou) plus no more than 30 mln would be ideal.

Really want it to happen, Levy is the only stumbling block. Really made a rod for his own back with his comments. Glad the window is almost over, I think we'll go back for him in January, like Torres, if it doesn't happen now.

I always get really excited when it gets near the end of the window  . I voted no cause Levy & 'Arry are a couple of c****, however they are stuck between a rock and a hard place with an unhappy player, so you never know :good2: .

If we continue chasing, I am sure Spurs will let him go. Obviously we if gave up on him, he won't join us.

So I voted YES.

Im hoping that Modric's display against City will convince them to cash in on him instead of having an unhappy player not giving much effort for the team.

No mention at all of Modric on either the BBC Gossip Page or Sky Transfer Centre. And the only mention of Modric on the Official Site's Rumour MIll is a link to a story posted yesterday about the adverse affect the Modric saga has had (excuses or what?) on Tottenham's start to the season.

Which leads me to the inescapable conclusion that by the time the transfer window closes tomorrow night, Modric will be a Chelsea player.

Probably.

I'm voting yes, purely because Roman gets his man. That's just the way it is. The bid will be exorbitant and above his value but he'll be playing for us against Sunderland, at which point the media will all start thinking of ways to say he is a flop.

If we do get Modric it's gonna cost,(a lot),the fact it's gone on this long suggests a game of bluff exsists between us & the spuds chairman.

The whole thing is a right balls-up,it's dragged on way to long,we should have bid a fair price at the start of the window,Levy shouldn't have acted like a complete kn*b, & Luca should have put in a written transfer request from day one,sod this 'gentlemens agreement' tosh.

If he actually is willing to sell I'd say he's trying to force our hand into a last minute even more inflated panic buy.

If we don't have a plan B then if we turn him down we are still missing what Modric would bring to the squad, if we pay ridiculous money other clubs will continue to expect us to pay over the odds in future.

I'm to-ing and fro-ing on whether this deal will go through, don't know what's the best outcome but I'm sure our people know a hell of a lot more than I do and it's not any of our money at the end of the day. Just hope whatever outcome is the best overall for the club .

i voted no because i think levy wont give us the satisfaction of having one of his best players. look at the sh*t arse has had with nasri and fab so he is probably gearing the fans revolt

I've changed my mind from a couple of weeks ago and now vote yes. Proven creative midfielders are worth their weight in gold, AVB will know we have a gap in this area and filling it is one of the keys to a succesful season. Now rests on prising him from the tottenscum
