In order to improve the atmosphere there needs to be serious change to how tickets are released. One example would be a young persons season ticket (18-30), significantly lower price paid in installments and sectioned in a part of the ground like the Matthew Harding lower right behind the goal. Or set up a supporters singing section, where the club runs events specifically for those who buy a ticket there and gives something back to them. Maybe engage with the local housing estates and get them involved. 
The age of the bridge fans is getting older and it's a problem that will keep getting worse until the club actively tries to fix it. At the moment they are closing their eyes to the problem and opening their mouths to complain.

The banana incident should be national news. The judge found there was a clear premediated action to throw a banana if a black player scored.
This is repugnant behaviour and has no place in our game.

The Manc Hunt incident a point in question.
Chelsea have an established rivalry with Tottenham Hotspur. The source of this rivalry was not anti-sematic but those of us who went to games in the 80s will remember only too well some of the ugliest chants known to human hears as the rivalry evolved into racially driven motives.
The current Y word references are more ambiguous and because Tottenham fans themselves use the expression the boundaries are blurred.
That said, it needs to be removed from the vernacular of Chelsea supporters and we must accept that other fans can behave worse than us and still not get the negative publicity we induce. The Y word has had its time and for many is highly offensive.

Another expert, Terry Ruane, who has helped police investigations by examining CCTV footage for clues, watched the clip at least 20 times.

"I have reviewed this at least 20 times and I just can’t catch the tongue which would prove he definitely did say ‘black’."
"My feeling is he did indeed say ‘f***ing Manc c***’ – however ‘Manc’ is said in such an offensive way that makes it almost look like ‘w***’.
“Additionally, I don’t think anybody who isn’t an experienced lip-reader would think there was a similarity between ‘black’ and ‘Manc’.
“So it is quite possible that he did genuinely say ‘Manc’."

SoSterling havent confirmed it......no one heard him say the Word........no lip reader has confirmed yet........but the man and the Club are thrown to the Wind. When it comes to Chels, Theres no such thing as until proven guilty, you get f**ked either way. If I were thet guy, and knew for a fact I didnt say the word, I would get a quality lawyer and simply destroy the media and these baffoons rio etc. Theres no f**king way this would be so huge if it was one their darlings.......you know like last week with spurs where nothing was said. No one in any posts contained within this thread has defended racism.
If the fan in question has made racist comments, then not only should the club take action, but he should also be liable for legal action against him too.
At this stage we don’t know if he has been racist. Racism is disgusting, and the narrative being presented in recent years that racism has become more insidious is accurate. Just because it has become less avert does not mean that it does not exist.
However, we don’t know if the bloke was being racist. Due process needs to be undertaken.
Watch any football match on TV and you will see fans making wan*er signs to players and shouting abuse. I just don’t get how this bloke’s behaviour is any worse than what goes on.
Why has he in particular been made such a scapegoat?
I would also like to know who instigated this witch hunt. Someone on social media declared that a football player had been racially abused. This person was not at the match. This person did not hear what was said.
Now that it looks like the fan may not have actually been racist the morally outraged from Tunbridge Wells want blood anyway.
I was at the Many City game. I heard chants from the Matthew Harding Stand calling the player in question a c**t. Most people in the family stand where I was sat laughed.
At the Everton game I sat near the Everton fans and watch dozens of Chelsea fans make provocative gestures to Everton fans supported with ‘blue’ language.
Everton fans sang in unison calling Ross Berkley a rent boy. Deriding his sexuality and life style choices in an abusive manner.
If it is shown that the fan at the centre of this storm was not actually racist what considering all that occurs at every game up and down the country has he done wrong?
The hypocrisy evident here is frustrating. From the media and football supporters alike.

Modern day of trial by social media and the so called 'influencers'. Just because Rio ' I could read lips' Ferdinard said it's no doubt racist, it is racist without a full on investigations. I'm pretty confused by Sterling's social media response, it's more of a generic response than confirm this guy said the sinister thing people wanted to believe.Giving out his personal information and encouraging vigilantes is almost criminal, the guy is already guilty without a proper investigations. Once his name is out, of course his employer is eager to cut him off, save money to pay older employee while keep the company name untarnished. Is it enough, will Rio bend his knee in the commentary box this weekend?

We now have TV and Newspaper racism pundits who are getting paid handsomely to pass judgement via what amounts to a media remote Kangaroo court.
Pass judgement after an official investigation by the police with real evidence that a real crime has been committed and a successful prosecution.

He's a big boy, he can look after himself. We keep hearing that defenders are out to bait him and wind him up but it doesn't work. 
 
He enjoys it all too much for them to bother him, at full time he's always the first to approach opposing defenders and embrace them because as soon as the full time whistle blows it's done. 
 
He complete in check with his emotions, he's too cool and calculated not to be. 
 
Basically he's a genius and I won't have a bad word said against him.

I think Roman would do it right too, his behaviour since he took over the club, tells you it would be more like the way City are doing it than Arsenal re ticket prices at a new bigger/stadium
 
Given his taste for the dramatic/oligarch mentality Id say any new stadium he did instruct, would have to be better than anyone else's!

Given the need to increase revenue (FFP), it will definitely be called 'The Npower Station'

As a Benfica fan, devastated.  
 
The Benfica forums are in a state of disbelief, anger and depression.  If you want to see what a great deal Chelsea got just go on to the forums.  Everybody's saying daylight robbery.
 
The thing is the Matic-Perez partnership is so central to how we play, allowing our wingers to bomb forward and it let's us play two attackers. 
 
Perez has been superb recently but there is no one to replace Matic.  All we have is limited destroyer types ala Javi Garcia which would probably mean we have to switch to 4-3-3. It's just a pity because Benfica fans felt that once injury free and if our coach stopped tinkering we were on the verge of becoming a special side.  
 
This will set us back big time and i think we may not win anything this year.
 
Having said that as a fan of Chelsea also i'm excited to see what he can do here.

As a Chelsea supporter but primarily a Benfica fan i've watched him more than most.
 
For those that are not sure about his quality especially given the strength of the portuguese league i understand your doubts.
 
However Matic was player of the year ahead of Joao Moutinho and it often looked like he was a man amongst boys.
 
In Europe he was very good, often dominating games, and there's a vid showing him keeping the ball and handling the Barca pressure well.
 
To give you a little idea of how he is rated, generally Benfica fans consider him to be top 5 in the world in his position and i agree.  I wouldn't swap him for Khedira let's say (although they play slightly different positions) 
 
On top of that Matic would probably rank as the BEST player that has played for Benfica performance wise in the last ten years alongside probaby Di Maria.
 
He performed better than Luiz, better than Ramires, better than Witsel and much better than Javi Garcia.
 
For those saying to play Luiz next to him i reckon it makes Luiz redundant.  Matic is already a good passer and covers the ground.  You want someone with energy who is technical, creative and likes to get forward.  I imagine someone like his current partner Enzo Perez to be a good fit.  Someone like Modric would be perfect.  Maybe in the future Willian or Oscar could do the job.  Van Ginkel could be a good partner
 
I have no doubts in my mind he will be a success and he's exactly what Chelsea have been missing in the centre of the park.  I woudn't be surprised if he started against ManU, afterall Jose played sneijder without even a training session at Inter and i reckon Jose sees him as a very important piece for now and the future.

Can I like this ^^ 10 times.  That sack of sh*t consortium with grand ideas on a hoity toity development I hope it fizzles to dust and they all catch bubonic plague slowly while we turn it into a proper football stad with reasonable turn up on the day prices for new and old gen proper supporters...........
