No idea if there's any truth to the rumour or not, but that's certainly the type of player we need.

Young, fast, tricky and not too expensive.

Would be very happy if we signed him in Jan.

If you're good enough, you're old enough. Some of us need to stop this mentality that anyone under the age of 20 isn't ready for first team football...

England could learn a bit from Belgium's youth system. Think of the young players coming out of there: Lukaku, Defour, Kompany, Hazard all have massive wraps on them. Perhaps it's a bit of a golden generation developing over there.

I think if ur good enough ur old enough but I don't think he's gonna be the type of player come and save our season. I also don't think he's any better than what we have sitting on the bench. if we was talking about a 19 with a world class reputation then I'd pay top money for them and put them into the side. But bringing in a rough diamond I don't think is the solution we need.

Don't we have a young, fast, tricky player already at the club. Kakuta?

He's already struggling for minutes as it is, can't think he'd be delighted for even more competition.

From wiki:

De Bruyne is a left winger who likes to cut into the middle and shoot with his strong right foot. He is also dangerous from free-kicks with his extremely accurate and powerful shot. He is a great passer, preferring to play smart balls to feet rather than send crosses into the box, despite the fact that he actually does have a good cross on him. He has very good dribbling skills, and has the confidence to try new tricks on defenders.

We have one left winger at the club and that's Malouda. You could argue Zhirkov, but I dont think Carlo sees him there. Some competition wouldn't be bad, but then we're talking about a 19 yo kid from the Belgian Pro League.

just looking at a website called footystarswatch.com it's got a database in some of the worlds best young talents including some of our own and some of the names that get thrown around in the rumours section. There's a few interesting players on there.

Sakho from psg, young but powerful centre back that's already captained his club side and made France debut, would probably cost a lot less than David luiz.

Eden hazard for me should be a top priority, right wing is an issue for us and I don't think there's a better option out there, plus he's had 3 full seasons behind him and already moved to a new surrounding once.

Then in the summer we should go in strong for lukaku, he's a Chelsea fan so as long as we show willing I think we can sign him.

Marek hamsik is the best player to fill franks shoes and again I think he would be a likely acquisition.

Does it matter if he can't "save our season"? We should be looking for quality youngsters to build for the future.

If we sign him and that Lakuku in the summer, and get rid of some deadweight like Anelka, Ferreria, etc... I'd be quite happy.

maybe not but I don't think he's better than what we currently have warming the bench. I'd rather see us sign a right sided player. not 1 who is gonna be competeing with kakuta and sturridge for a place in our current system.

Am I right to assume that the debate here is over a 19 year old Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne?

I wonder how many of you saw young Kevin play? Better yet, how many actually knew of his existense before his name popped up in the internet article?

How can you be happy or unhappy about him possibly joining the club?

Ive seen him on youtube and football manager and he was brilliant. therefore I know everything about him and am able to make an intelligent decision that we should sign him for definite as on my game he ended up being worth more than £20mill.

Well I don't know many people who watch the Belgian league...so no, I hadn't heard of him before. What does that matter? I can't be expected to know all about every player in the world...

I saw him play on eurosport for the national team against Finland he did ok, but as I said before I'd rather we were looking at right sided players. I know he is right footed but he plays from the left more often than not.

I must admit I don't follow Belgian football.

So the player Kevin De Bruyne is new to me.

I know nothing about the guy.

I'm skeptical about signing him.

Based on the few clips I've seen of him:

1 - Has a very powerful shot

2 - Seems to score many of his goals off the post

3 - Despite playing on the left only seems to be able to use his right foot

4 - Similar to Quaresma in that he sometimes crosses the ball with the outside of his right foot whilst on the run

Still haven't seen enough of him to make a proper judgement though

Ive just bought him on football manager so give me a few days and I`ll know everything about him and exactly how good he is.

Report back on how he is will you? I'm in need of someone at Stuttgart and he might be a good buy on the cheap.

Ok, usually finders fee yeah.

We'll I'm paying some pretty useless scouts 10,000 a week to find me a decent winger and they've not come up with any yet, so I suppose it's only fair. Better yet I'll fire one of them and get you on board full time. How's your German?

Wunderbar....

"Would be very happy if we signed him in Jan" - that's your quote, isn't it?

All I'm saying is, if you never saw him play and never even heard of him, how can you be happy or unhappy about our prospects of signing him?

Because I've seen a bit of him now and he looks good...

I'd never heard of Ramires either before we signed him, or plenty of other players over the years. Doesn't mean they don't turn out to be good players in the end.

Would be a good signing. Young and talented and not ridiculously overpriced.

Could turn out to be a gem.
