I'll be long gone from this site if that happens. It's nothing to do with how powerful it is,it's all about people on here losing focus of what topic a thread is supposed to be about. A little more common sense would not go amiss.

There's also an extent to which it's relevant to other threads; it's difficult to talk about De Bruyne without making the comment that Neymar is better. Granted, this one seems to have gone a little too off track, but it would have been silly for somebody to respond to a post that suggested Neymar was better than De Bruyne in a completely different thread.

Whilst I accept that for the most part it is worth keeping chat to the topic at han, it would also be unreasonable to suggest that people shouldn't mention players in threads that aren't specifically about them; conversation just doesn't work like that.

When it comes to taking and telling jokes you clearly don't know me well enough my friend. I am merely making comment about how this thread has been hijacked which you admit to and by your own admission you are even agreeing with my observation so that hardly makes me totalitarian does it?

Lets not get caught up in hyperbole. This really shouldn't be a big deal. I agree that we went off on a tangent about two potential attacking players we're linked with, talking about the benefits and drawbacks of having them. As deg0ey diplomatically explained, I don't agree that its a problem to do that. Do you police peoples conversations at work to make sure everyones on topic? Just strikes me as a bit rude.

To be fair i can understand geezers frustration. Theres a 50 page thread on neymar, this one didnt really need to have a page on him. It did go a bit off message, but no real harm done. Now, have we signed kaka yet?

The impression I get is that this was one of the guys that Hiddink was after and now that he's not here, the papers have assumed we're not interested anymore.

Not much being reported about the other half of the deal Lukaku either probably for the same reason you cite. Shame if it doesn't happen because I was looking forward to both joining our books even though I haven't really seen either of them play.

I just bought them for Chelsea on Football manager and Lukaku does well but De Bruyne is rubbish. So there you go, all the information you need.

I came across an interesting complication since its not especially easy to get a good look at him at the moment on youtube:

It might just be me, but he's starting to remind me of Robben. He doesn't necessarily use step overs and tricks but his speed of movement and eye for a cross/pass seems incredible. He's got a hell of a shot on him too. Considering we can pick this kid up for 10/15m at the most and no other heavywights seem to be linked (except City of course) this could be a sensational buy. I hope he features in AVB's plans.

The agent of Racing Genk ace Kevin de Bruyne has admitted that Premier League clubs are eyeing the winger.

De Bruyne is understood to be a target for Manchester City while it is believed that Premier League rivals Chelsea have confirmed their interest.

His agent, Patrick De Koster, told TMW: "The only concrete bids are those from England.

"Will there be a transfer from here later this month? You know just as much as I do how the market works, everything is possible, one way or another."

I hope our interest hasnt cooled. Considering his rumored price this is just the kind of player we should take a gamble on.

Got to say I don't really like the stories of the boys attitude. I personally prefer Marco Reus from Gladbach in Germany. He has better numbers in a better league and would be available for a similar price. He also plays on the right wing which is a current need.

But of course neither of those guys are the wingers that we really need. To get a premiership winning winger we're going to have to look at some targets a bit more developed and for a bit higher price. But I'm not holding out hope.
