  1. Snedger I agree wholeheartedly with this assessment. Dixon got 8 caps scoring 4 times and never got a game after that. As for the outer mongolia comment, lmao, so true. f**k England, Chelsea only from now on. I will only support the Chelsea players in the team now on. Love Chelsea. Hate England.
  2. The Man Utd job is not bigger than Real though. They have 9 European Cups to Uniteds 3. More domestic league titles too. The only jobs bigger than Real is managing a country, not a club. Imo anyway.
  3. I agree. He is subjected to a lot of sh*t by the media but if he just kept his nose clean he'd make his life a lot easier.
  4. Lads, didnt see the game today - got a lot on at the moment. Quick question how was the behaviour/songs from us today ie. Will the red tops be w**king into a frenzy about us? Just want to be forewarned. Thank God we're in the 5th round and CAREFREE
  5. God bless you Bobby and get well soon.
  6. I twitted Rick Glanvill like Jody said. Get well soon Bobby. Carefree.
  7. Yes good post bjd. Following Chelsea is many things: frustrating, exciting, infuriating, heartbreaking, exhilarating etc. But boring? Nah, never.
  8. Its not great at the moment but weve seen far darker days and not thrown in the towel. Through thick AND thin means good times and bad not just the glory. If you make him a failure as manager, then whoever appointed him is the bigger failure. How much comp did we have to pay to get him and pay out Carlos contract? Ive said it before and at the risk of repeating myself Ill say it again. Chelseas appointment of a novice manager was a huge gamble. The club had to know this at the time they appointed him. The Portugese league and Europa league are not the same level as the Prem and Champs league. If we dont qualify for the.Champs league ill be angry. But it wont be at AVB. Itll be at the people who appointed him who seemingly believed that we could continue to challenge for honours every season despite changing manager every other year. Ive not given up hope and I never will as a.Chelsea fan because supporting this club is nothing without faith. But if it goes tits up this season then the top table at Chelsea need to have a good hard look at themselves and how they run this club. Blaming and.sacking each and every manager is not a long term solution to anything. Carefree (down but not out)
  9. How you get on clubhappy? You get sorted?
  10. Havent got the stats in front but 1 in 5 of his goals roughly speaking are pens.
  11. I didnt mean that they are just pure defensive mids in terms of their play, more that that they arent a source of consistent goals, as in if you are relying on the likes of Essien and mierles to be providing/producing goals you will be sh*t out of luck.
  12. I see where you are coming from mate but ultimately the solution to the problem is an, as yet unsigned player. One of the things I think we really f**ked up squad wise is we have/had too many defensive midfielders (Maka, Essien, Mikel and now Romeu, Mierles even) but we never got enough attacking central mid player*. The need was especially pronounced when we got rid of J Cole and Ballack. Ive long thought that since the summer of 2010 our midfield has a distinct lack of goals in it (Frank aside). * By this I mean not neccessarily a flair player as such, just someone who can chime in with the odd goal and who offers something in attack (as well as the tracking back, tackling of course) .
  13. Another post I agree with spiller. Also, there is another problem that compromises our ability to transition away from Lampard: the fact we look like conceding a goal every time we take the field. If we had a watertight defence we would have the luxury of trying a few different things out in the attack areas of the pitch. In a way we have 2 interrelated problems at the moment: 1) we NEVER look like keeping a clean sheet, 2) we cant seem to get that 2nd goal to give us a cushion. If we could properly remedy at least 1 of these 2 issues Id have no problem with Frank being used more sparingly - in fact I think it would behoove us to do so.
  14. Yeah blize overall it is worrying. We are far too reliant on Frank as a source of goals. We have 6 main attacking players at the club: Frank, Didier, Ramires, Studge, Mata and Torres. If we are to be less reliant on Frank, the others have to step up and pick up the slack. Being optimistic its pleasing to know that our trio of Mata, Studge and Rambo will be around for many years to come.
  15. Disagree. If.Lamps retired tomorrow who would step in and contribute instead? You make it sound as if hes keeping another prolific scorer/creator out of the team. Look at our scorers this year by % of goals they have scored for us: 1. Lamps -19% 2. Sturridge - 17% 3. Ramires - 14% 4. Drogba - 10% 5. Mata - 10% 6. Torres - 7% 7. JT - 7% 8. Kalou - 5% 9. Mierles - 3% 10. 5 players on 1 goal (Luiz, Iva, Jo Bos, Anelka, Malouda) Frank is not keeping anyone of our main attacking options out of the side: Studge, Ramires, Mata and Torres have to contribute but Frank takes nothing away from them.
  16. Nice one mate, lovely post. And that the reality of it. 11 goals and 6 assists = 17 goals overall, ergo Frank has had a hand in 28% of our goals this year (we've.scored 59). When you have a fella who scores or creates 1 in 4 of your goals when he leaves you have to fill the void. Its all well and good.saying.the Lamps era is coming to an end but who is going to provide those goals and assists once hes gone???
  17. Out of interest, did he shed any light on the reason why he left the club? Was it his decision, Claudios or by mutual consent.
  18. Final stat from those games: Romeu played approx 430 mins, on average we conceded a goal every 107 mins. Without romeu we played 200, mins conceding a goal every 50 mins.
  19. I noticed something about Romeu when doing some stats that was intetesting to me: last 7 games: goals for: 12, against: 8, goal difference: +4. With Romeu in the side, goal diff = +6. 1-0 v wigan, romeu off we lose the second half 1-0 and.drop 2 pts. 1-1 v villa, romeu off we lose the rest of the game 2-0 and drop a pt. Beating pompey 1-0, romeu comes on and we win the rest of the game 3-0. not really groundbreaking I know but with romeu on the pitch we conceded 1 goal v city, 0 goals v wigan, 0 goals v spurs, 1 v fulham, 1 v villa, 1 v wolves, 0 v pompey. Only 4 goals conceded with him playing in 7 games but 8 conceded in all those games and he played in each game. Just a little stat.
  20. Who would your vote be for if season ended today?
  21. What is Williams problem? Always chiming in with a pithy remark, fella sounds like a sarcastic teenager.
  22. I think I got it wrong when I said murder and was gonna edit it but left it, just ignore that bit :-)
