Posted January 22, 201213 yr For someone who's brief was to make us play more attacking football, you have quite cleary failed. You have also made the team who finished 2nd last season worse, despite the addition of Mata and Sturridge, no one seems to have a clue what they should be doing half the time. For the first time since starting supporting Chelsea, i actually can't be bothered to watch your sh*t excuse for football anymore and your incoherent nonsensical ramblings after a game make me wonder what the players must think of your teamtalks, no wonder half of them can't be bothered to break in to a sweat for you! To cap it all off you treat one of our greatest ever players like a skivvy and would rather play a Liverpool reject. Wake me up when we have a proper manager. P.S Taken me this many years to make a post, it must be serious!
January 22, 201213 yr Its not great at the moment but weve seen far darker days and not thrown in the towel. Through thick AND thin means good times and bad not just the glory. If you make him a failure as manager, then whoever appointed him is the bigger failure. How much comp did we have to pay to get him and pay out Carlos contract? Ive said it before and at the risk of repeating myself Ill say it again. Chelseas appointment of a novice manager was a huge gamble. The club had to know this at the time they appointed him. The Portugese league and Europa league are not the same level as the Prem and Champs league. If we dont qualify for the.Champs league ill be angry. But it wont be at AVB. Itll be at the people who appointed him who seemingly believed that we could continue to challenge for honours every season despite changing manager every other year. Ive not given up hope and I never will as a.Chelsea fan because supporting this club is nothing without faith. But if it goes tits up this season then the top table at Chelsea need to have a good hard look at themselves and how they run this club. Blaming and.sacking each and every manager is not a long term solution to anything. Carefree (down but not out)
January 22, 201213 yr I don't think we can blame AVB for this. After all it's the players on the pitch and not him without sounding like too much of a cliche. I think we have a good manager in him and we just need to get rid of some of the dead wood at the club. How often have we said to give a player a season to settle into the premier league why can't we give a manager.? Sacking every manager is not the way to success you need to take the good with the bad.!
January 22, 201213 yr You f**king idiot!!!!!! through thick and thin I'll always give 100% support!!!!
January 22, 201213 yr I think AVB is probably bored too. This isn't the kind of football he wants to play. I strongly believe that once he has "his" players in place, Chelsea will play a substantially different style.
January 22, 201213 yr transitional period. so what if we have a mediocore (by our recent standards) season. The thing that pisses me off is why arent bertand and lukaku getting more game time? they are the future. As for mceachran, i cant see anything mereiles brings to the team that josh couldnt. really hoping for a quality signing before the end of the month.
January 22, 201213 yr We can't keep changing managers, this is a process..... one that's going to take a year or 2... we need one signing this month to give us momentum to lock up 4th.... only one... Hazard. I'm afraid that's not going to happen.... we'll know in 10 days. Then more turnover this summer and we'll challenge next year... then the next year we'll be on our way. I believe, anyway.
January 22, 201213 yr Watching us is enough to make your eyes bleed at times when we constantly play the ball square or backwards when there's opportunites to go forward with the ball, but we give teams too much time to regroup, I love Lamps as much as the next person but him, Meireles, Cole are three big culprits. I don't blame AvB for the way we're playing it's the players. What I do think he needs to take responsibilty for is not going all out to sign players this window to improve it, there's still time but he has said we're not after anyone else, But, at this rate we might struggle to make it to summer in the top 4 whcih means no CL which will make it a lot harder to attract the world class players we need. January 22, 201213 yr Its about supporting the team first and foremost. Style of play, managers , players etc are all secondary. If you are bored, perhaps you are following the wrong team?
January 22, 201213 yr Well I am just glad there are no knee jerk reactions to a draw away against a decent premiership team sitting in the top half of the table.... Honestly, get a grip, things have been much worse in the past. We are having a difficult season for sure and things are not going as we would all ideally like but despite all this we are still sitting in a champs league spot, still in the FA cup & champs league. If u simply cannot bare to watch unless we are winning every game with ease and glued to the top of the table then u could maybe go and "support" Man City until we are up to your standards again then pop back?
January 22, 201213 yr Then f**k off and watch another team and leave proper "Supporters" (the clue`s in the name) to get behind the club. f**k me I hate these new fans, their attitude is sickening.
January 22, 201213 yr I can understand where he is coming from. It's far from being that he wishes to no longer support the club it's that he no longer wishes to see them play. To create an analogy it's like having a dying aunt, you still love her with all your heart but no longer wish to watch her suffer. I can respect that and at times have felt exactly the same. However I've stuck by my amazing team through thick and thin and these bad times only make the good times sweeter. By not watching now I'll miss out on that and that's not an option. I know the frustration I'm more than likely going to feel by watching Chelsea this season but Jesus how do you think west brom or Wigan fans feel. If you only watch a team to be constantly gratified I'm afraid your watching the wrong sport. Everyone has their ups and downs and I am proud to share those with my team. KTBFFH!!!
January 22, 201213 yr Unfortunatly due to personal circumstances I haven't been able to see a game for some time now. F**k me what I wouldn't give to be bored and watching Chelsea right now!! I haven't posted for some time (other to have a small pop at malouda, stranded practice) And for a few games I have to say AVB made some terrible deictions. I cant remember the game but we took of sturridge, matta and ramires. That means ending the game with out our 3 best players this season. Even when Carlo was infuriating me with his refusal to actually change a perpetually losing team I still watched every game I could. I moaned and it got me down but that just set me up for the next week and hope... ok some time hope gets crushed but thats the great thing about football... there is always the next game.
January 22, 201213 yr If watching good football is your principal criteria for supporting a club then go and support tottenham then, they're playing very well at the moment, best of luck.
January 22, 201213 yr These set of players have let manager, after manager down, I wouldn't be surprised if theres a few inside, who reckon they are bigger than the club, who like to poison things, when things are done different, it's toys out the pram time, maybe that's why Anelka and Alex were sent packing? There's absolutely zero motivation in this team, and it doesn't help when your captain is the most hated man in English football, and constantly ripped apart by oposition fans all the time. We have an average side, and it doesn't help when people continue to delude themselves week in week out, that we are still in a title race, we've never been in the race this seson, and quite frankly if we did somehow win it, it would be negative for football, that such a group of spineless, non interested overpaid players managed to do it. We've just now got to accept that this is our team, and maybe the glory days are over for a while, for those of us who were there, we'll always remember it, just like how Spurs fans always bang on about the 60's. There's being a fan, and there's being realistic, so I won't take to fans who've been supporting the club five minutes, telling me I'm not a true supporter. And yes we are boring, as soon as Malouda came on yesterday, I knew it was probably time to go outside, and glue my eyelids to the tires of a moving car, far more entertaining. Now that's out the way, WHO WANTS A FIGHT???

Good to see you post, Barak.
January 22, 201213 yr I see the usual "support another club" lines have been thrown out already, really is pathetic to see. The disappointment isn't sole that we are playing sh*t football pretty much every week. If we were a small, lower division club, I think we'd all accept that, because that's pretty much all we could hope for. The disappointment is that firstly, a team who won the double and scored 7s and 8s for fun, can have turned this crap, this quickly. And secondly, that with the players we have, the money we've spent on their transfer fees and wages, we should be seeing a lot more. We seem to be trying to emulate the kind of Barcelona-like possession play, were we just pass and pass and pass and keep the ball as much as possible. But we don't seem to realise that you still have to actually do something with it at some point. We play so slowly it borders on the ludicrous sometimes, and I begin to wonder if they are doing it deliberatly. If you slow the game down that much and allow the opposition to get players back into position and behind the ball, is it any wonder you struggle to break them down? The whole point is to exploit the spaces your opposotion leave, to counter attack/attack with pace and try to catch them out and stretch them. We used to do that very well, but in the last season/season and a half, we have been appallingly bad at it and seem to have just given up trying. Now we appear to be too afraid of losing possession or breaking our shape to actually press on and attack with some tempo. Hopefully this will change soon, and we'll see some players leave and better players arrive, but even if we had the whole of Barcelona's team, if we played in this fashion we'd still be struggling to beat teams.
January 22, 201213 yr This has been a particularly interesting season to watch; is it boring to you because we're not beating everyone?
January 22, 201213 yr Got to love the 100% commitment of some of our 'fans' in this thread. If you're like this when we're not doing well, we don't f**king want you when we're doing well!

I can only repeat my post from before, it's about supporting Chelsea first and foremost - everything else comes second. I would get just as much out of it if we were a League 2 team. £50 million strikers are fun, winning doubles are fun, 8:0 victories are fun but ultimately it's all just a bonus and doesn't raise your love and support for the club you support any higher. If you think supporting Chelsea (or any other club for that matter) is boring I can only suggest football is the wrong sport for you. Edited January 22, 201213 yr by bjd

I don't think so, there's a difference between support and blind faith. We are boring to watch you can't argue that but it doesn't mean I'm not going to watch us anymore, same old about support another team from a lot of people on here, talk about knee jerk reactions. Not specifically you BJD there was a few people I could of quoted.
January 22, 201213 yr I think people are just fed up with seeing our beloved team playing so slowly and with a lack of ideas. We aren't ourselves at all this season. A shadow of the team we used to be. I think at least half of it is down to confidence as well as the lack of proper tactics..

Sure you can debate and criticise players, tactics and formations etc, but watching Chelsea play is never a boring job for me, in fact i look forward to it pretty much more than any other thing in my life - that doesn't involve friends and family at least ! Itll be likethat whoever we play and however we play. We have been the luckiest and most spoilt fans in the world these past 8 years and i do think some of our fans often overlook this. Personally id still have the same thrill watching us play if we'd have gone the same route as Sheffield Wednesday have done (which we nearly did) and it should be the same for all fans of our club. Is it though...? Edited January 22, 201213 yr by bjd
