AVB - who's behind him?
Slowing down the game means less risky decisions. Why the hell did we needed to make risky decisions when 3-0 is your guess as good as mine. Ferguson is no idiot, you're right. He would never play this sort of game against a better team with such a lead.

Why was Ray Wilkins sacked?
Unofficially it's presumed that he had a falling out with roman/board Another shocking decision whatever happened

I fear we are becoming like the new Arsenal
I have never seen so much truth in one post... Completely agree with everything.

AVB - who's behind him?
Whether Sturridge stayed on or Malouda was subbed is not even AVBs biggest fault in the match. His subs have been terrible for ages now, they have done nothing but cost us points. No, the biggest fault was his lack of interaction & change after we went three up. Any competent manager would shut down the tempo completely and pass at the back. He is extremely naive, I know he is young but he hasn't learned from his mistakes at all which he commits time & time again. End to end football will never, ever favor the weaker winning team. I guarantee you without such pressure on the defence at least 1 would have not occurred.

How can you say a 3-0 lead doesn't matter... If it were 1-1 with 30 mins to go then AVB would have a problem whether to go for it or defend. But he had no such problem, just defend and retain the ball! Shambolic, suicidal tactics after we scored the third.

AVB - who's behind him?
Malouda did not track back lol... He never strayed past the half way line. All he did was support Utd midfield

AVB - who's behind him?
And yet Malouda stayed on Ffs?

AVB - who's behind him?
We were 3-0 up with 25 mins remaining! This is completely unforgivable, even for sides like Wigan and Blackburn. I just saw the interview for the first time and AVB seems completely broken. Says it all really we should simply not lose such a massive lead

AVB - who's behind him?
It's the way we got about it. Is anyone else absolutely sick of our gameplay style under AVB? I'm not one that moans about pretty football, I will gladly take 1-0 wins but it is just not working out. The difference between Utd and us was crystal clear... They push forward, they constantly run at the defense and most importantly at the goal. Their tempo is insanely fast, I know this is a huge match, but whenever I catch a glimpse of them in other smaller games they play relatively the same. Us, we park just outside the opponent box and give them time to recover. This is only a valid tactic when defending leads IMO, like we should have done when we were 3-0 up.

AVB - who's behind him?
Surely after we draw with Everton it will be even worse... I'm fully expecting the Swansea/QPR style games where we have no purpose of play just pass pass pass slow tempo/ball movement 70% possession(ironically what we should have done against utd) 0 good scoring opportunities. Cech-Luiz-Terry-Luiz-Meireles-Bosingwa-Luiz-Cech ^ this chain of passes absolutely kills me every time.

AVB - who's behind him?
May I ask: how is it a good appointment based on his previous career with Porto & academica? AVB has no history of building or leading teams to transition. Are you seriously saying more people know/knew pardew & co than the likes of Hiddink, Ancelotti, Scolari?

AVB - who's behind him?
I wanted Carlo to stay desperately. Primarily because I wanted to see where we stand with Hiddink/Turkey and Mourinho/Madrid, and by the time we would have hit summer surely at least one of these would be on the market. I said AVB wasn't some miracle tactician when we got him but everyone was so blinded by the hype that they ignored me. I didnt like his 13m release clause it's a huge waste of money IMHO I will support him till the end of this season and see where we stand.. If either of those managers are available I'd get them (especially mou) irrelevant of our placing, as AVB has completely disappointed me in terms of his tactical nouse, motivation and youth. I fear that he's just not good enough for this club and every week he proves that.

The "everything you want to say about Torres" thread
If we don't have time to waste with Torres then surely we don't have any time for AVB either. Torres has been a rubbish striker as AVB has been rubbish manager. The difference is we all know one was at least world class at one point, the other we are just putting in blind faith because the media has really scared some people about the rotational manager carousel.

AVB - who's behind him?
"Great football" - you are so, so mistaken. The only brilliant play of the entire game was the Torres cross and the amazing Mata finish. Yeah it was high tempo and enjoyable for neutrals but in no means was it a remarkable display of football ability. Especially considering 2 of the goals were pens and the other two were own goals. The Swansea/Norwich/qpr games were possibly the most dire I have ever seen, and I wouldn't bet against normal service & 1-0/1-1 draws returning at everton

Chelsea v Man Utd (PL) 05/02/12 KO 16:00 GMT
I am not gutted at all as I fully knew they would come back after watching the ball move from one end to the other. Ridiculosly stupid tactics we pretty much played right into their hands and I fully expected this result after the first penalty went in.

AVB - who's behind him?
Don't want to debate this on here as its off topic, but: Napoli have 36 goals in 22 games United have 59 in 24 I know that Seria A isn't as open as the premier league, but United have a better offensive force than Napoli. No denying they are a danger to us, especially if we keep playing like we are and AVB continues committing mistakes

AVB - who's behind him?
Is there really any reason to include a video game whenever a non-footballer makes a football related comment/criticism

The "everything you want to say about Torres" thread
More likely he would have been anonymous throughout the match tbh.

AVB - who's behind him?
I didn't say they are a bad attacking team Just not better than Man U, who are easily one of the best in the world in that department. United's midfield is their undoing. I have not seen anyone better than Hernandez at finding space for a long time now Rooney is absolutely great too, not counting the pens he pretty much orchestrated the entire United side in attack. And Nani/Valencia are no mugs, pacey, great cross, creative. The only one I dont rate is young.

AVB - who's behind him?
Well its not just this game mate, he has not done a single thing correctly with substitutions this season apart from the West Brom game (or some early-season one, I forget which) when he brought off Kalou. His tactics are shambles he doesnt make any good game changing decisions. Easily one of the worst managers in the premier league at the moment in my opinion, that includes relegation tier managers because I have not witnessed this amount of mistakes from anyone, including Scolari or Grant. Napoli are certainly not better than Man U in attack.

AVB - who's behind him?
What did he say? Please tell me the words "Malouda" and "Players of great technical ability" did not feature in the same sentence.
-
AVB - who's behind him?
Yes, mourinho really ruined Chelsea by winning two titles and part building one of the greatest teams of the premier league era. The only thing Ferguson has over Mourinho is longetivity. Come back when Ferguson has won everything there is to win in the top FOUR european leagues. Show some respect man. edit: Well he didnt technically win anything with Real bar the cup, but surely they cannot choke like we did in the league
-
AVB - who's behind him?
Yes, yes I did watch the same game you did. I guarantee you if we slowed down the tempo the pens would have likely not happened. Its not rocket science is it really. Just keep playing very slow keep possession we dont need to score they do.

The "everything you want to say about Torres" thread
My hope is completely lost in this guy now. Sorry Torres but one can only take so many missed chances. Great cross tho.

AVB - who's behind him?
We had Malouda on the pitch & he was Uniteds best player other than rooney Surely subbing Malouda instead of sturridge would be better. And to be frank, AVB tactics were so far off in this game, especially the second half. Just keep the ball ffs, why was there any need to play such a high tempo especially with our midfield so woeful
