Chelsea v Southampton (PL) 16/01/2013 KO 19:45 GMT
BBC Football: At the moment, both are going against him on home turf. Benitez has claimed this is down to the tactics of visiting teams rather than a reaction to the often abusive atmosphere but against Southampton it was poor finishing - and defending - that was to blame. And teams DONT play like that at Manure, Citeh, Arse etc..........?

Excuses excuses
Games are too long these days, 45 mins in freezing temperatures should be enough, unfortunately my subs were also frozen to the bench seats (again).

Chelsea v Southampton (PL) 16/01/2013 KO 19:45 GMT
Until the last couple of weeks and the deaf approach to the Frank Lampard debacle, I was pretty much in the 'we can't be critical of Roman brigade as ithout him blah blah blah'. But then it dawned on me........... RA wasn't loyal to Mourinho as 'without him my club wouldnt have won the league (so soon)', he wasnt bothered about sacking double winning managers like Carlo and Roberto, so why should we be any more grateful to RA than he was to the aforementioned? I agree, this club is falling apart and RA, Gourlay, Buck et al are really testing my love for this club.......unfortunately and luckily for them, our blood will always be blue so we have to grin and bear it as they definitely wont listen.

Chelsea v Southampton (PL) 16/01/2013 KO 19:45 GMT
We have far too many options in the midfield and in forward positions. Also we have a plethora of top class centre backs.Unless we loan out more players we will never finish in top four.CAn we loan out some more players please and NEVER recall any of them, because we are doing fine. Now hold on...I think I'm getting this wrong. Good call, lets loan out Rafa too he needs experience elsewhere!

Chelsea v Southampton (PL) 16/01/2013 KO 19:45 GMT
Its not the team sheet that bothers me and the majority, we understand the need to rest players. Its the decisions when the game is in progress and the insistence on waiting until 80 mins to make subs, this is what makes this manager unworthy. If JT wasn't fit he shouldn't be on the bench, he must be good enough for 30 mins against a side like this surely?

Chelsea v Southampton (PL) 16/01/2013 KO 19:45 GMT
And no leaders...........oh I forgot we do, he remains on the bench as Rafa doesnt have a clue, AVB is a genius in comparison!

Im sure I am pointing out the bleeding obvious but why when it goes 2-1 don't we put on JT, move Luiz into midfield and take off Ramires who is well out of sorts right now? The press/media criticise the Chelsea fans for berating Rafa and making a negative atmosphere at home but what are we meant to do, applaud his continuous poor efforts and seemingly determined attempts to rub the fans up the wrong way. Lose at home to QPR, Swansea, draws with Fulham, Saints.....come on is this really a top class tactical genius Roman? And with today's news I fear we are stuck with him too.

So that's the shield, super cup and world club cup
Oh please...he looked no more determined than the other 9 players yesterday (Luiz excluded). He was ruled offside because he didnt LOOK, and lets not forget his awful attempt 5 mins before, lets also big up Rafa for his mind numbing substitutions after yet another dynamic superbly motivating half time speech.......wow could he really be less inspiring?

How to make a millionare sweat?.
If they dont perform send them to The Emirates for at least 2 seasons thereby depriving them of any trophies/medals and learning what a good thing they had going before............they can then return with the hunger re-ignited.......

Chelsea v Corinthians (World Club Cup Final) 16/12/2012 KO 10:30 GMT
Yes probably above top 10, just like Norwich, West Brom, West Ham, Swansea have all been............they looked pretty average to me.

Chelsea v Corinthians (World Club Cup Final) 16/12/2012 KO 10:30 GMT
I think that is a bit harsh, it wasnt great but not the worst I have seen and anyway, it didnt have any bearing on the result, that was down to our poor showing and our tactically deficient manager............3 wins against 3 rubbish teams have not convinced me anything differently!
-
The Rafa Benitez Thread (merged)
I thought I was being petty taking offence to this when I heard him refer to Liverpool as US today in the interview, glad I am not alone! 3 wins against 3 poor teams lulled us into a false sense of security thinking we were getting back on track.......nope, and no signs of any tactical genius (or even average skills) culminating in his ridiculous substitution or RB's what an abject perfromance all round, thanks for naff all Rafa

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
It wasnt a point it was a question - I just wanted to know if anyone knew the stat, am I not allowed to ask such questions? 135 pages now by the way and still running!

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
It would seem that (134 pages now) still havent answered the query then - what IS his ratio of goals to shots, does anyone know as I am more than happy to be proven wrong and by the way the negativity wasnt aimed at the penalty he did eventually take (a good one incidentally), it is aimed at the lack of ambition as a goalscorer to do so in the previous 2 years............. Obviously though it is still an interesting debate after this many pages - if you think there is nothing more to be added, move your thoughts to another thread - simples
