Poch In or Out? The Mega-thread Merged
The squad is midtable. It's midtable under Poch, midtable before the season started. It was midtable last season under Lampard and it was Midtable last season under Potter. Yet people will perform extreme mental gymnatics to pretend untalented players who have looked poor under 4 different managers and in many cases didn't look good enough in weaker leagues before we signed them are really top young talents it's bizarre.

Another Winger! - Noni Madueke
I've seen a lot of wide players with bad decision making but Noni is the only winger I've ever seen who's first instinct when he has a bit of space near the edge of the box is to smash it 40 yards back to the fullback or centre back on the half way line.

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
The thing is we're in desperate need of a rebuild. Much more of a rebuild than we've ever needed at any point in the last 40 years. I don't think it's about the manager, we need to move on at least 15 first team players and bring in a similar amount this summer but it simply isn't financially feasible. We lose nothing getting rid of Poch but nothing improves given the squad has so much deadwood and so little quality.

Lets not pretend we're going to ever challenge for a major trophy in the next 9 years regardless of the manager. The owners have guaranteed failure with their strategy, the club isn't set up to ever challenge for trophies regardless of coaching staff.

Poch In or Out? The Mega-thread Merged
You give our owners too much credit. They're clearly not focused on making money. They're nowhere near as competent as the Glazers or Levy or any historically "financially focused" owner They're just absolute idiots. No one who thinks spending £80m on a crippled young centre back who'd played 7 games in 18 months and £62m+ on a Ukranian with dozens of career games at 22 or £115m on a defensive midfielder who's Club were open to flogging him for less all summer or giving a £60m contract to a midtable manager on £2m a year at Brighton is ever making money in football. I'm less worried about us being crap which I know we will be long term but more concerned as a club we'll go bust because our owners have a collective football IQ lower than the number of wins we have since they took over.

Raheem Sterling signs for Chelsea
The problem is that an Underwhelming Sterling has to be starting every game because the alternatives are clearly much worse. 1 good game ever 5 still makes him a far better player than Madueke or Mudryk have the potential to ever be.

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
I don't think anyone can think of any reason to ever bring Mudryk or Madueke on at all

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Not one 18/19 year old in Liverpools academy is less talented than Mudryk or Madueke. If they were they'd have been released by now. Madueke in particular is a player Poch said wouldn't be good enough to play in the Premier league when Spurs moved him on. you can say we spent xyz but the fact our owners decided to pay 10x the value of two young players who didn't look good in the Dutch or the Ukranian leagues doesn't help the manager win football matches. Didn't help Potter, Lamps, Poch and won't help the next manager.

Conor Gallagher
There's 15 or so players in the squad we need to move on this summer before Gallagher. But clubs won't touch our dross they'll be like vultures picking away at the few useful players we have. I expect at least 2 of Connor/Reece/Nkunku/Enzo/ Palmer to go because clubs will take advantage of our FFP issues. The deadwood won't be as easily shifted.
-
So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Poch hasn't spent the money though, he didn't want these players he stated clearly he wanted experienced players but has been no attempt to actually build a team that will ever be able to compete just pure fantasy football sh*te that a bunch of untalented kids will turn into a super team with enough time. I don't think we've got much squad depth at all, look at some of our benches this season and when we need a goal we're bringing on Mudryk and Madueke. Poch won't last but make no mistake if we have all this deadwood here we'll go through 15 managers and drop a league by the time we're free of their contracts.

BlueCo buy Chelsea FC
Hypothetically if you'd shown our current squad to someone the day Clearlake took over and said this is the squad we'll have in 2 years. You'd have expected Boehly to be like the Glazers and us to have made £300m net profit on transfers. The fact we've spent so much on such an untalented squad must make him a lock for the worst owner in premier league history. It's just a shame it was us who got stuck with him, imagine if they'd bought Arsenal a few years ago? They'd be a couple divisions down by now.

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Villa have a better squad than us so I'm not sure that's a good argument. 11th is roughly where I'd expect most of our players to finish, a few are capable of better like Palmer and a few are nowhere near good enough to be at an 11th placed team like Mudryk and Madueke. We finished 12th last year before Poch, that's the calibre of player we have.

So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
On paper he has the least talented Chelsea squad in the last 40/50 years. Absolutely dross everywhere. But it's hard to see anything he's doing to suggest he's the answer either.

Mykhailo Mudryk signs for Chelsea
Should have been moved on last summer. Ali Dia got 1 game at Southampton. Mudryk is one of the least talented players to ever play top flight football but because he's fast we'll waste a squad spot on him for years to come. will never be good enough to be a squad player for any team at PL level.

Because the bench is full of untalented deadwood Who people crazily say should start every game despite them making the team worse every time they come on.

Take Madueke off. One of the worst players to ever wear the shirt. He's got techical skill but he's an opposition fullback almost every game, absolutely no interest in ever doing anything of value.

True. But that's still better than very poor workrate and very poor end product like half our squad.

Of course he came on. Mudryk missing the crucial penalty then dropping an inspirational quote on his insta story on Tuesday is written in the stars.

It is guaranteed to be Mudryk if he comes on. Though if he tries to control the ball he'll likely riffle it into the top corner.

I'm not even sure he's signed for us yet. A few rumoured sightings but could be a myth

There's no chance this game ends any other way than us losing on pens.

He's ok but that man will never be a keeper for a serious club. Very average goal keeper.

Looked pretty lively in a big game against City last time out. Sterling hasn't been great but the problem Poch has is that Sterling often struggles against Liverpool but both Madueke and Mudryk are guaranteed to struggle against any opposition Our squad is what it is.
