Anyone can see we need a right back and midfielder and we are spending this much on a winger.

Yeah this is a concern for me. The Felix deal made sense, but we are in need of a CM, a back up RB and ST. Not sure how this lad is improving us up top. Arsenal rightly never went above what Shakhtar asked, so why are we? Never even got linked to the guy before Arsenal were interested. I'm honestly confused. This is one deciison where I'm starting to question Boehly and the board. Playing all that money for a young wide attacker, but not spending an extra €20m for Fernandez's release clause.

Bit more context on Mykhaylo Mudryk. Chelsea sent a delegation to Turkey to fast-track talks after determining Shakhtar's asking price was worth it. This is a U-turn having previously indicated they didn't want to bid that high. #CFC have now agreed a €100m package.

Paul Winstanley and Behdad Eghbali both involved in a pretty crazy hijack. Nothing actually signed yet but #CFC believe they have a done deal.

Told #AFC's latest bid was closer to €85m than €95m and that gave Chelsea a window of opportunity to offer a big upfront fee and gettable add ons.
 

This is another example of Chelsea's board backing Graham Potter. In the end #CFC offer for Mudryk is actually higher than they bid for Enzo Fernandez.

We need a new winger too. I don't know anything about this player but we do need a winger.

No doubt we'll overpay and give huge wages and a huge contract, but that's for another day.

Can confirm Chelsea have reached a deal with Shakhtar for Mykhaylo Mudryk worth €100m. Told the guaranteed fee is €70m with a seven-year contract proposed. First call: @FabrizioRomano

Potter knows what he needs more, clearly a young winger is what he needs then the club will take out the wallet.

Enzo Fernandez wants/wanted to come to Chelsea, yet we are going after a lad who wanted to go to Arsenal. We need an upgrade on midfield, instead we go for a wide attacking player. I know we have attacking issues too, but this money is ridiculous and I'm not a fan of overpaying for young talent that may or may not improve us, especially in a position which should be on the backburner for the time being. Is FFP a thing any longer? I read that included in the clause for the sale of the club was that the new owners spent a specific amount of money. Not sure exactly though. 

Watched a bit if the Celtic game and he was electric. Massive money, but an 8 year contract makes this deal fairly cheap in terms of ffp. 

21 years old, whole career ahead of him. 

Pretty excited, but hope it doesnt mean no joao felix in the summer, and its concerning that for nearly £500m of investment, we still havnt got a decent gk, a back up rb, a defensive midfielder, a playmaker, or a long term number 9. 

Now we might be able to be successful without a traditional 9 if Nkunku can find the net regularly, but those other 4 positions are definitely required to challenge for titles regularly.

Hope we know what we are doing.

8 year deal I read. so €10m per year ffp, less than half the Lukaku deal. 

Big risk if it doesnt work out though. Hopefully these new wages are heavily incentivised.

We do need a winger though, and a centre forward, right back, holding midfielder, central midfielder, another winger, could do with a new keeper, and some back ups...

 

Hopefully this doesn't affect us going for the Zakharyan lad, if this goes through. Having a Russian and Ukrainian may be interesting in the dressing room.

Fitness and conditioning coach and a proper doctor wouldn't hurt either

Very true! What a sorry situation 

Can not wait to see this mythical CM our board has in mind to bring this window. 
 

Have a feeling Potter is screaming inside we still haven’t brought a CM.
