Raheem Sterling signs for Chelsea
Of course our players don't visit this forum, very few actual Chelsea supporters visit the forum it's an inactive shell of what a forum should be given the size of our club but It's the players choice if they want to read about themselves or look at twitter/instagram/Facebook comments about their performances. Most shouldn't for their own sanity. That's very different to being singled out on a football pitch by your own "support" when you miss a chance. Players don't choose to miss chances, booing individuals does nothing but create a toxic atmosphere. I think our squad is an absolute disgrace with more donkeys than Margate and Clearlake should be booed relentlessly for assembling it but whenever the players put on a Chelsea shirt they'll get nothing but encouragement from me when I'm at the game as long as they're trying. That's not two faced or cowardly, Cheering the players on and calling them feckless donkeys in the pub afterwards is the oldest tradition of being a supporter. Next week we'll all be back cheering them on again! apart from @Ukraine Bolt as he doesnt know where Stamford Bridge is.

I may be giving you too much credit but surely even you're smart enough to understand the difference. It's not hard to understand.

Absolutely brilliant. Hope to see them all over the Bridge.

Someone pin this post to the front of the site. A textbook example of the plastic Internet fan. Someone who's never been to a game posting online about his "high level football career" plenty of ad hominems and he's delusional enough to think "The best players in the world only continued to perform because they got booed once when they missed a chance and that players only miss penalties due to a lack of motivation" Surprised clubs haven't told supporters who go to games that they shouldn't be cheering on the team, they should be booing every player who makes a mistake because @Ukraine Bolt said so online, sure he's never actually been to a game, has no football knowledge and comes across as a moron but he played at a "much higher level" on his school sports day so he knows the game... -----‐---------- I hope by the time you save up enough money to go to the Bridge for the first time you've learnt the meaning of the word support or at least understand booing players doesn't magically erase mistakes or make them better. You may have been jeered by the customers last time you burnt the fries but your shift manager didn't join in. There's a lesson for you about supporting your own there.

I don't think we've gambled at all. We've implemented a strategy that was guaranteed to fail to produce a top club just as it has the last 10,000 times it's been tried across football ( always with less resources) When you only sign young players most will fail because the success rate of young players developing into top players is extremely low. As a result you'll have a inconsistent and struggling team and when that happens and you need to rebuild like we do other clubs will circle around the few young players you've got that are developing into top players. Very difficult to see how we'll be able to hang on to players like Palmer in the future.

What would help is if you didn't continue to post drivel about about a sport you know nothing about. Please tell us all how Ronaldo improved after being booed at Madrid when he was already a 4 time Ballon D'or winner 4x champions league winner and the clubs all time top scorer when he was getting booed. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11835/10842944/cristiano-ronaldo-hits-back-at-real-madrid-boo-boys Or how Messi a 6 time Ballon d'or winner "Improved" after being booed and told to retire because his team lost a Copa America in which he was best player at the tournament and his countries all time top scorer. There's no justifying the boos it's just a case of the smallest brained supporters lashing out at the teams biggest names because the team hasn't met their expectations. Hopefully Sterlings performances do pick up and he gets back to his best. The sad thing is if/when he starts performing again morons like you will probably start thinking you've inspired him with your boos. Well not you exactly because you've never been the Bridge.

Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend
Means it's gonna be sad day when Hazard has more assists at Stamford Bridge in 2024 than Madueke has since we signed him

Not sure the morons who booed Sterling can remember the start of the season let alone who Drogba is. I remember Drogba getting a lot of stick early on, I also remember Ronaldo being booed off at Madrid and Argentine supporters jeering Messi and calling for him to retire. Always weird to see elite talent being booed as soon as they have a rough patch because they don't live up to "expectations" Good article about Sterling and the expections on him in the Athletic today. Don't imagine the boo boys can read it but for everyone else it's worth a read. https://theathletic.com/5352265/2024/03/20/sterling-chelsea-england-city-liverpool/

We've got a new Kepa
Madrid never wanted Kepa to begin with. They took him on loan due to his cheap avaliablity and the timing of Courtois injury but with time to plan and 2 better keepers on their books they're not going to be offering us a fee for him. We've got 2 better keepers on the books ourselves so getting him moved on is a priority.

You need to realise who you are. This isn't you. Your personal expectations of a player don't mean a thing. Booing a player because he doesn't meet your own personal expectation is the complete opposite of being a supporter. You've admittedly never been to Stamford Bridge and Our young players will be glad about that. Doesn't make it a nice place to play and i'm glad so many members of the squad have supported Sterling against the voices from some of the man children in our fanbase.

Summer friendlies 24
Disappointing to see us going back there. With where the squad is it at now it just shows our priorities aren't in the right place.
-
24/25
That would make a lot more sense if we hadn't splashed more cash than any club in the sports history since the owners came in. We need Boehly to develop a 2nd brain cell in order to compete. We could have built something special with the money we've wasted on dross now we're in a position in which we're going to have to make some tough decisions.

Where to begin with car crash of a post You're basically arguing you think it's ok to boo Sterling because he's generally performed at a high level in his career but is going through a rough patch yet talentless young players that have struggled pretty much since their debuts are immune from criticism. And you talk about others accepting mediocrity? Hilarious.
-
David Datro Fofana to Chelsea
Didn't realise Haaland played for Arsenal Not remotely relevant is it?
-
So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
No one is accepting mediocrity. We should be better given what we've spent but it's completely unrealistic to expect to be challenging for the top 4 with the squad we have. If our standards are on the floor it's because people can see we've assembled an incredibly poor squad that isn't able to compete. Blame the ownership for that not the manager.

Ironic given how much encouragement our sh*t squad gets online, you mentioned a striker with 3 goals in his last 64 games and a winger without a single league assist since signing for last year. Presumably you think Broja and Madueke should be booed out of the bridge every game? Probably not. No player should be booed but strange the boos are only for Sterling.
-
Raheem Sterling signs for Chelsea
Didn't need to include a picture of yourself. I think our squad is full of overpriced sh*t, most people without extreme bias in the football world do. The results and performances speak for themselves and as supporters we have a right to be critical But unlike you I actually go to the odd game, I've been to the Bridge 7 times this season, very mixed bag of performances but not once have I ever considered booing or shouting negativity at a player because it just doesn't help anybody when you're at the game you're the 12th man your job is to support the team and create a good atmosphere for the players to perform in.

I'd be very surprised if the children of any of the mouth breathers that booed Sterling get to decent universities. The kind of people who boo their own player after a poor performance don't tend to be the brightest bulbs in the box.
-
Raheem Sterling signs for Chelsea
Don't even have to go that far back. Mudryks performance vs Boro was far worse than any performance in Sterlings entire career.
-
So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
They'll just continue to pretend we have a top squad and blame the next manager for not walking into the top 4 with "a billion pound squad" Seen it with Tuchel, Potter Lampard and now Poch. Varying levels of managerial ability but It's always the manager on here.
-
Cole Palmer signs for Chelsea!
Have to say Sterling is far better value for money than the next 4 on that list. That Fofana contract is easily the worst contract in the history of professional sport. 7 year 200K a week contract for a lad that had played more than 14 games in a season once in his career and had 4 serious injuries and had played half a dozen games in the year before we signed him. It's an actual crime.
-
So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
They might be equally as good as Fofana. But they're all young centre backs and not one of them has ever finished in the top 6 of the premier league so I'm not really sure what your point is. You're expecting Poch or any manager to consistently win games at the highest level with a bunch of players that have never done it at any point in their lives. imagine if we'd actually signed a top centre back to go along with our developing ones? Basic squad building but we could only dream of getting such basic decisions right.
-
So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
I wasn't aware Poch slide tackled them both in training. If you exclude Sterling and the injured cohort from that list how many good seasons did the rest of them have combined at a high level?
-
Raheem Sterling signs for Chelsea
Not at all. I just don't consider you or anyone else who boos players for playing poorly as actual fans.
-
So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Because they were clearly ridiculously good players performing at the absolute top level before being signed for big money. We've signed players with less than 50 career games in the Ukranian league an average winger in the dutch league, Monaco's struggling pair of centre backs, a MLS keeper and picked up a few missing South American children for £20m each. It's a complete different calibre of player we've brought in just because we've wasted huge amounts of money doesn't mean the squad is particularly talented or the manager has a lot to work with.
