  1. ...Ramsey? (I know it's pretty unrealistic he'll ever be here but now he seems to be injury free I think he would be perfect)
  2. I was listening to the game on talksport last night and they were talking about the lights changing before the match started. I've been wondering whether we'd be using them in the buildup since we got the new led ones. Think it could look awesome on the big Champions League nights, all changing to blue when we score or something. Anyone who went last night have any info?
  3. with Jose in charge? Maybe stave off relegation by their teeth... doubt it though. Saying that, I would love to see bamford/feruz given some gametime after xmas
  4. is it just me or is Ashley looking more suspect by the week? Don't get me wrong still a great player but seems to be getting beaten far too easily at times and really struggling to get back. Besides that, two of the hardest away trips (on paper) done and dusted; can't be too down to with two draws.
  5. Something about deadline day, always have that desire to see "Breaking news from Chelsea" popup, regardless of whether you think the squad needs any improving or not. Although it would be silly to say I'm not happy with the squad we have, I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking additions are always up for debate. Just wondering if you could see one more come in before 11pm who it would be? (realistically speaking)
  6. As one of three/four strikers who are ready to step in to the team (ideally with someone else coming in as well), yes. As a first choice to lead the attack all season, no.

With the fixture list we've got coming up and the lack of depth we have in certain areas in the squad, I think it would make a lot of sense to start giving Islam a spot on the bench. If only for the reason that if Torres or Ba picks up an injury we're literally down to one, and at least we would have someone waiting. I'm not saying he should necessarily be thrown into the fire, but 10 minutes here or there if the opportunity arises can do no harm at all. I think his pace would cause almost any defender a problem, and would just be another potential option.
  8. So I saw the fuss in the Sunday Mirror and was wondering how good this kid actually is? From the sounds of the article he is very highly rated with Barca among others hovering, anyone seen much of him?
  9. Not that i went into today thinking there was too much chance we going to go there and get the win, surely we have more to offer as a team than that though? We looked so short of confidence and ideas going forward. I'm a big fan of Ramires but that has to go down as a bit of a shocker, not that i'm singling him out, just expect better. As bad as Torres has been, and Ba has hardly set the world alight, we look so rigid and slow we don't really look like we have an actual striker playing a lot of the time. We are better than this!
  10. another 3 points chucked away
  11. i don't get this 'lucky' part when it comes to things like the penalty's, it's not as if some freak act of nature conspired to guide Robben's kick the way Cech decided to dive, or sent Messi's penalty just that bit too far into the corner. And any portions of luck we may have got along the way, no more than any other team that has won the thing, should be overshadowed completely by that performance in the Nou Camp
  12. surely you remember this...
  13. demba ba anyone? all this talk of Falcao in January, but surely it makes sense to spend 7million (if that's true?) and get a striker in who seems to be more than capable of scoring goals in this league as a backup/rotation with Torres and Sturridge. Then hey, if it doesn't work out, sell him and torres in the summer then look at revamping with a big money man like Falcao or Cavani or the next 35m+ rated guy.
  14. He really should be seen as a priority in january/summer more ideally. Could be a massive addition to the team.
  15. Kind of annoying no one came in in the end, really thought we'd get some sort of forward. A defensive midfielder would've been nice, especially with ess leaving. I know we're still pretty overloaded in there, quantity's fine, quality could have been improved.
  16. Fellaini and Falcao (not saying we necessarily 'need' them, but the thread says wishes)
  17. Think Moses has much more potential than sinclair. I find it astonishing city are even looking at him to be honest
  18. "On the first day of pre-season I told the manager I wanted to leave. Roberto Di Matteo told me I ought to think about Chelsea as there weren't going to be many other strikers this season, but this is the time for me to think about myself. "I got sick of watching the others from the bench. I just played 12 games and when I was playing well, they would take me off. "I lost my hunger for the game over the past year. I won't beat about the bush - my season at Chelsea went very badly. "As regards getting minutes on the pitch, I wasted my time. Last season I was in the reserves alongside a young lad who'd barely turned 15 and I asked myself what I was doing there As much as i think confidence in ones ability can only be a good thing player wise, this guy does sound a bit like he's erring on the side of bendtner type opinions of himself. I do wonder what he was told last season when he signed, surely he wasn't assured of a first team place ahead of the likes of drogba, torres and anelka. From what i could gather he was a very young player with the raw attributes of a striker with lots of potential, and from what i've seen when he's played that's exactly what he is. I hope he has a good season at wba and comes back perhaps ready to realise some of that potential but also with an adjusted attitude.
  19. yeah, not really sure about the use of concord.. but luiz is an interesting one. Although at times he's looked perfect at centre back, he can look so comfortable with his pace and touch and his timing of tackle on the most part is good, however we all know this isn't the whole story and the mistakes are there for all to see. It does seem like a possibility that he could play just in front of the defence and then if/when he does get caught out it doesn't result in 1. him having to chase back and commit the foul 2. the opposition being clean through on our goal. Its clear to see having the ball at his feet wouldn't be a problem. i'm not saying this is a sollution, i agree that we really should have re-energised those positions by now - tiote would've been interesting too. But it would've been good to see it experimented in pre season anyway
  20. really hasn't looked great so far has it? though i do remember having a pretty shocking pre-season the year we won the double i think so can't look too far into it i guess... and as you said there's a fair bit of quality to come back in. We do look very lethargic though. They really need to improve drastically before next weekend or it could be a bit embarrasing
  21. that's about it really.
  22. Is it just me who thinks we really should be looking at finding a new back up for petr? To be fair to Hilario, when called upon he has on the most part done a decent job (big champions league nights against Barca spring to mind), but if Cech was to be out for a sustained period then he doesn't feel me with a huge amount of confidence. Turnbull is capable of brilliance at times, but mediocrity for the majority. If come february/march time and we're battling on all fronts, as we would hope, Cech picks up an injury (not an unlikely possibility) then the lack of a good keeper could cost us It's a position that can affect the confidence of the entire team. Good number two's aren't an easy thing to find, being that you need a player who is not only very capable when called upon but is also content with being an understudy and providing support. I say this with Courtois in mind as i'm sure he will be challenging for the number one shirt himself before long, so for the time being someone of the ilk of jaaskelinen springs to mind. Any thoughts?
