  1. Arguably, and certainly for me, the best 6 in the league when fit. And even while not completing a 90, he has improved since he's been here. You simply don't sell a player of that quality at 22 for pittance.
  2. If you replaced him with Barco, which thankfully the club wouldn't, you'd have less defensive nous, and less of the rest as well...including the hair.
  3. Shame the guy is just trying to even up the yellows for his team. It's tough being surrounded by morons every game.
  4. If they can't sell the club assets...they will simply work within their means. There's more than enough additional revenue (cup wins, CL qualification), and potential revenue from sales to not have to sell anything. The only reason they will is to manage squad size/dynamics and to comply with UEFA restrictions. 'Obsessed with young players on low wages' is an oversimplification. A lot of the first team squad are on reasonable terms. Barco doesn't even play at LB for his club, so no I don't think it spells the end for Cucu. Barco has been exceptional at distributing and creating from the midfield, the links are purely based on his performances.
  5. With literally zero precedence for selling our best players, how are you sure? The club have sold exceptionally well in recent times so don't know why that would change. They're pretty much all saleable. That's the model.
  6. Look at the coaching jobs you just mentioned, then combine that with all the testimony from players he's actually coached, staff he's worked alongside, and the fans of those clubs - pretty much unanimously glowing in their praise for improving his players. PR from the club, sure - but calling it BS is nonsensical.
  7. On point 1. Who would that be? Rosenior, for example, is very experienced in developing young players. On point 2. Who would that be? Would you be willing to break the wage structure? What would you do if 2 of the 3 turn out to be flops? Disasi, George, Jackson were attempted to be sold. Neto is one of our best wingers, regardless of current form. Chalobah shouldn't be sold.
  8. Mad that UEFA do all this and yet City are 'bringing in' record revenues every year.
  9. Tactical cam footage. Have a look at the first few minutes.
  10. Liam Rosenior L Iam Rosenior Iam ROseniorL I am senior ROL I am senior Rafa of Liverpool Facts!
  11. RCB yeah while Cucurella/Gusto bombs forward. But I'd actually prefer him centrally in a 2 or 3. Enough of this crap with Badiashile and Tosin, and not having a CB that can break lines. James solves both issues. Palmer plays right with Gusto overlapping which is how you get the best out of both as well.
  12. Strasbourg play a variation of that. Don't think we'll ever see James at WB though unless it's for a short period in-game tweak. Would love to see Santos and Caicedo build a relationship. They have the potential to really dominate.
  13. He did nothing wrong. He's just not great in defensive transitions and he naturally gambles in dangerous areas because he's still getting to grips with the league's physicality. We struggled to have any control for a large part of the first half. It would be valid to complain when there aren't such glaring structural problems for a manager to address. It's not like say, if he made a few mistakes on the ball and we were struggling to create vs Wolves - in those cases the player can still recover and taking him off would be cowardly.
  14. There are a lot of circumstances where this would be valid but this was not one of them. We were struggling. Having Josh and Estevao on the same flank was a gamble. And then we started losing the midfield battle. Santos on was the right move, gave us a boost in midfield, and strengthened our flanks when Palmer switched. Ronaldo and Rooney were playing for the best team in the league and surrounded by senior pros.
  15. Definitely seemed tactical, he and Josh were struggling and Cherki kept drifting there for overloads. That's why they switched him and Neto before half-time.
  16. Errr the guy was pretty much flawless with his hold-up play. Could've been more effective if not for Neto. Decent outing, hope he keeps it up.
  17. Naturally. Certainly wouldn't call on the opinion of those who knock the directors for not doing the impossible and signing Osimhen at 120k/week... I can always back mine up.
  18. Understand the frustration. I honestly don't think they've damaged much at all - considering the state of the squad and the club at the time of the takeover. And there are much worse ways it could have gone with different owners. Of course that doesnt mean that you should blindly accept their failures. The decision to completely overhaul the squad was correct. To change the wage model was correct. To change the transfer policy was correct, given the landscape and club status. To change the club structure was correct. To move to a multi-club model was correct. All of these put us in a better position to be successful going forward compared to where we were. But the implementation of these has so far been a mixed bag and I'm sure most of us can agree on what needs to be changed/tweaked.
  19. Actually not at all. I will simply defend what needs to be defended, in any discussion. There are definitely things they've done well, and a lot they haven't. I have zero loyalty or affection for BlueCo - they very much still need to prove their intentions. But that doesn't mean I will bleat like a sheep because it's more acceptable.
  20. This. City's style today if very much removed from Barcelona's tiki taka. That's how you know just how good he is - dominating while tweaking his tactics to suit his players and leagues. The caveat is that he has complete control over his squad dynamics. Grealish (100m) can't give him what he wants as a touchline, 1v1 winger...benched then sold. Other managers are not so lucky.
  21. And what? You think any other model would result in less debt? The moment they made a decision to overhaul the squad it was inevitable. Of course it was bridged in majority through player trading. PSR - and UEFA FFR require player trading as a key driver for balancing - contract amortisation is encompassed and not exclusive. There are very good reasons why people fear being the first do anything. And you thinking the gamble isn't worth it is irrelevant. The owners are where they are because they dare to try and fail.
  22. 'with a manager who we won the Champions League with' - that's the be all and end all. Defense was about on par and the heart was ripped out before BlueCo took over, also no Cucurella and an injury prone James. Kante was on his last legs and no one else really holds a candle to the likes of Caicedo, Lavia, and Santos talent-wise. The attack was pathetic and again I'd take Palmer, Neto, Estevao.
  23. Yeah I mean that's one thing they're getting right at least. We're not going to end up with players the next manager can't/wont use. Plus, every subsequent hire is going to be amazed with the level of talent they're now working with. Liam might think Garnacho is a future Balon D'or winner
  24. Pretty sh*te going the other way too so...
  25. Badiashile and Tosin licking their lips. All I want to know is where the fullbacks end up in the attacking phase. Just in asking the question I can feel my soul getting ready for torment.
