That's typical DM trying to vilify Torres. He needs to go in the summer I think everybody knows that I don't believe for a minute he would 'dig his heels in at all'. The only thing remotely believable in that article is the idea of a portion of his wages being paid if he gets a move elsewhere.
 
Nando's still a chelsea player I won't buy this bullsh*t that the mail are on about I'll support him whilst he wears the shirt but lets hope its not for much longer.

Torres played well and scored against Bayern...yet the next game at Everton he's dropped for Eto'o (who clearly isn't close to being sharp). Then not even in the squad in the week in which Eto'o again starts and plays 90? I think the special one got this wrong to be fair.

gotta say watching City tonight it occurred to me that their midfield were superb (albeit Aguero was playing in there) but i thought Dzeko was absolutely useless.....

Exactly! The ones who say different are the same ones who gave Torres a 4 or a 5 for his performance in the Hull match. Sure a striker's main job is to finish, but when you have a great midfield sometimes the midfield beats you to it. Someone pointed out that Drogba had 10 goals in the best season in our history, and I remember a majority of supporters then wanting him to go. Boy, did he show them. Dzeko's performance tonight was great, did everything right, but did not finish so he was useless like poor old Torres...

I don’t know why he gets criticized because of the level of teams he scores against because it’s the same for everyone.

Did Silva and Mata get slaughtered for only bagging 1 goal against Tahiti and did Soldado get pelters for not scoring at all against Nigeria?

5 goals in 1 and a bit appearances isn’t that bad regardless, Hell Cavani has been dire compared to Torres so far but a majority would still all cream over a 63 million bid being put in for him.

It’s good for Chelsea that Torres is scoring goals because either we keep him and his form is decent going into next season or we sell him and get the best price we can.

I'm just saying that I expect him to be here next season for one reason or the other (be it wanting to stay or lack of interest from other clubs).
 
I can't hold his wages against him, he was given the biggest contract in our clubs history and that's the fault of the board not Torres. 
 
I'm not looking to get into a debate about Torres' Chelsea career to date, I was just saying that for the new season he looks to be playing ok at the moment and has been chipping in a few goals for club and country. For next season, if he can continue that goal scoring form it would be a positive for us in regards to attacking options. 

I guess my figures were way out.
 
36 PL - 8 goals 5 league cup - 2 goals 4 FA cup - 1 goals 6 Champ league - 3 goals 9 Europa league - 6 goals   20 goals / 60 games   When you consider how many of these games he was subbed on or subbed off, and you consider that we have a lot of players who like to score goals, its a pretty good season. I'm not saying he's brilliant I just think sometimes he deserves more credit than people give him. 

The thing is, if we continue to play possesion football like we did play under Rafa, fat Ronaldo himself wouldn't score 25+ goals in the season, simply because majority of goals in that system are coming from the midfield. So the stories about us being one world class striker shy of Premiership are bs.
 
Of course we are gonna be a counter attacking team, and of course on-paper weaker teams are attacking you, get your facts straight before you come up with something like that again.

i think its more of a message to the players, that no one is written off and no one is safe. the players will have a chance to prove themselves and those who already did, will have to do it again

nah i disagree with that, he just has had a barren run in the prem since 2013 and hasn't started enough games in comparison to Ba.
 
Ba's only scored 2 in the prem for us overall! its fair to say Juan, Eden, Frank have scored the majority of goals in that competition.

With only half a goal to aim at, anything hitting the inside of the post is unlucky not to deflect over the line, playing up front i know how bloody hard it was to score, so hitting a post, you knew you did everything right and the post by fractions stops a goal, dissecting everything he does right or wrong is now actually quite amusing, and my first port of call on here!! 

I think most people with a footballing brain feel sorry for nando. People who have never played the game or who are just pricks will say " I don't feel sorry for him he earns thousands of pounds to play football" but for me this is wrong on so many levels. Yes the money is great and he doesn't exactly have a sh*t life but imagine the frustration of once being one of worlds best strikers only for a few years later to pretty much be a laughing stock to most people just because of a price tag. 
 
He hasn't been what we all hoped he would be but to to some he hasn't been as bad as others think. If he had cost 20 million then he wouldn't get half the abuse he gets at the moment.

Dearie me, Torres is crap but f**k me really? It was his fault he hit the post? Have a word, you want to talk about playing football at a high level, got Scottish cup winners medals, and numerous title as well. There was nothing wrong with how he hit it, he was unlucky not to score, you've got to be demented to have a go about that, his performance was mediocre at best however you can't slate him for that chance out of everything. Next it will be Terrys fault he slipped in Moscow. Some people have no idea about football.

Neither you nor I know that for sure. The fact is that we were winning the game until the 97 minute (game shouldnt have gone on til then as well) but lost it because a player of theirs scored who shouldnt of been on the pitch!!

You've also got to remember that when he does something poor, he gets a lot of stick for it! He was very poor first half but played very well second, not a great performance but a good enough one. Good result, nonetheless.

honest interview, no matter whats happened i cant hate the guy! In terms of those stats you'd fancy him to get at least 20 from now until the end of the season. But in 50 odd games i think we were all hoping he could have gotten 25-30 and help us out in those games like Shakhtar away where a draw would of got us through, winning the world club cup etc...
 
but never the less I wouldnt mind if he stayed next season with Lukaku coming back, but on those wages?!

Don't think he played badly tbf. Good finish for the chalked off goal, went on a mazey little run that Moses couldnt do anything with.
 
But i'm sorry he cannot do anything with a hoofed long ball, yet Cech, Ivanovich and Terry continued to ping them at him all game!!!!
