  1. Always wondered why in the early seventies Chelsea had more at away games up North than they did at West Ham, Arsenal or Tottenham.
  2. Yes Lewis 1st arrival planks!
  3. Up to the arrival of José, which Chelsea manager has the highest percentage of wins? Suprising!
  4. it was in 1974, poor crowd of 23,000 or so. We were 1-0 down and it should have been 4 or 5. We won 2-1 with Ron Harris scoring with a long shot. There were not many Chelsea there and were in the Park Lane and turned up late. The shelf and the paxton all came round to have a go. Lights went out a few minutes from the end but the result stood.
  5. Millwall got mullered in the Shed that day and west ham fared no better 3 years later, afterwards was a different matter.
  6. The league cup game that you keep going on about against Millwall was in 1972 and I went. Millwall did not bother to take the Park Lane they just stood in there. Spurs main boys all stood in the Shelf at the time! In 1975 all Spurs boys were in the Paxton. I hope that helps jog your memory.
  7. We went to the Millwall game in 76 by car, the fella who was driving wanted to turn back after seeing what was happening going to the ground( this same bloke was telling me the night before in the boozer that Chelsea would simply overwhelm them with numbers). I lived in Rotherhithe so I knew the score. I told him to stick it out and we will go in the Ilderton Road end, wrong move as anyone who looked like Chelsea was getting bashed and because they all knew each other it was not difficult. We got away unscathed luckily, saw a few Millwall that I knew but just kept my nut down and walked on. The thursday before the game I was with mates down the Old Kent Road after work and had a brick thrown at my head by Millwall. Even if you are familiar with the area and know a few Millwall it is still a f.....g scary place to go.
  8. Funny how the scousers and mancs blag how they were the forefront of the fashion in the late seventies and eighties, everytime we played them at home and away you could spot them a mile away. And even then if one of them happened to have the clobber on it did not look right. With other London clubs though you sometimes did not know who was who.
  9. White Hart Lane in the early seventies used to be on top, where the Paxton were always ready to have a go.
  10. I think that it was after this game the club were going to charge full price for kids as they kept running on the pitch after Chelsea scored.
  11. I always remember being at some northern outpost with the locals singing "your gonna get your f.....g heads kicked in".
  12. I seem to think that Celtic were on our side and Rangers on the other as we had David Hay playing for us. But I thought the season before was better.
  13. Rascism? Look at the leaders around at the time..SS at Spurs,T at Millwall, B at Chelsea, C at west ham for example
  14. Arsenal would always turn up, then after yellow paint day they never went in again and then after the game at Highbury in 75 when spurs took the North Bank led by KR and SS they were never the same again.
  15. Millwall in 76 was without doubt the scariest.
  16. Was he Chelsea ? And was that Spurs game in 1982? I was in the Imperial when that happened.
  17. yes it was 3-3. The semi final was brilliant, not forgetting the ovation Kerry Dixon got when he walked off.
  18. Sorry dstoner, you are right about us being banned along with everybody else at Luton until the start of the 1990/1991 season. I could not understand why we did not ban them as well ourselves. Remember a brilliant game at the Bridge against them when we were 3-0 down.
